Catalyst Art and Cultural Space

a group I created with my boy and Mr. Oregon State Leather Cole Miner, FlaggersPDX, struggled to find a home and moved from gay bar to coffeeshop until we discovered Catalyst. Darklady, Shawn, and Baron have been so helpful and professional. The space is well laid out with a registration area, social area, and well appointed dungeon (although the medical exam room might be better used as a permanent sling room), and a couple semi-​private rooms and kitchen area.
Catalyst has become our home and it is such a wonderful treasure for our community. looking at their schedule shows how much they are adding to the Portland kink scene. thank you so much for so lovingly maintaining this space for all of us to use AND for ensuring it remains a safe space.

The Catalyst is a super fun, laid back and welcoming sex positive space that has multiple events weekly ranging from seminars, dungeon parties, group sex events and kink-​friendly karaōke, It is a great party space with super devoted hosts. The owners have put a lot of work into the space and it shows. They are also not money hungry people, keeping most events at a very reasonable $ 15-​$ 20, and often will reduce that if you help with clean up and/​or bring a potluck item (each event is different so check their schedule on FetLife or the website). There are very few dungeons in town as visible as this one. They have a «storefront» for godsakes! Many of the other play spaces I know of are run by private people who prefer to remain anonymous and keep their parties reserved to private residencies, so the very fact this venue openly displays their mission makes me respect them even more. My partner and I have very little time to go to events anymore, and the Catalyst is the one place we like to attend the most considering our budget and the wide variety of events this cultural space offers.

This cultural center and art gallery pays homage to the human body, erotica, and human sexuality in a tasteful and playful way.
With a steady ever changing selection of local and national artists, there is always something new to see.
The space hosts open houses, performances, studio time for artists and models, and conversations among like minded creative people.
