Best Eye Care Experience I’ve Ever Had!
My wife picked out this clinic and scheduled appointments for us. The team was fantastic, and a ton of fun! Dr. Chewerda was great to both of us, and I’m really impressed with the quality of the equipment – it’s brand new! My wife is a bit skittish around ANY doctor, but Dr. Chewerda really made her feel comfortable and explained what she was doing every step of the way. Jessica and Joel (and another co-​worker) were very helpful in picking out sweet frames, and they all definitely kept it fun. We had a great time here, and I’m actually looking forward to next year’s eye exam.
The team also did some digging into my insurance coverage, and despite me not having true «vision» insurance, they found that my health insurance actually offered a discount on our glasses. I was surprised and very happy to hear that they went the extra mile to look that up.
I highly recommend this place! Great job guys!

Dr. Laura Armstrong was very informative and was professional and warm. First visit to Cathedral went very well from the moment I was greeted as I walked through the door to the moment I left. The staff at all points were professional and very helpful. When it came time to pick frames to put on my block head (large, square and trimmed with a huge chin) three different people on staff all chimed in on what looked good and what did not. Honest and helpful they all were.
Very happy.
Will be back.

Dr. Chewerda is so awesome! She’s super friendly, down to earth, professional and knowledgable! I recently had my eyes examined and a new fitting for contact lenses. My appointment never felt rushed either. The office is very welcoming and comfortable. Can’t wait for my next appointment! I also love how close the office is to my home so I can just walk there for my appointments or to pick up contacts!

I was in St. John’s for the day window shopping from Seattle. A unique pair of glasses caught my eye from the window — Jessica and the cathedral team were BEYOND helpful. They have an eye for the spotting the perfect frame for your face and the glass of wine they give you to browse doesn’t hurt! All the frames are so unique you’re confident you won’t see someone else in the street matching you. I’ll be coming back here for all my glasses. They were beyond patient with my indecisiveness and multiple visits over the course of several hours. I felt like I was wearing out my welcome, but they acted like old friends who were happy to see me return each time :)

I went to Cathedral Eye Care when I saw the positive reviews for Alberta Street Optometrists. I called to make an appointment, and apparently this is their second location. My experience was outstanding. Everyone made me feel at ease. I received an outstanding thorough exam. They offer retinal imaging as an alternative to dilation, and use a tonometer instead of the puff of air. They helped me pick frames, and while I normally have trouble finding a pair I like– here I had to narrow it down to a single pair out of the SIX that looked fantastic. I would highly recommend them for outstanding service, thorough and painless eye care, and a wonderful frame selection.

Stopped by this brand-​new space last Saturday.
Super friendly staff was able to get me right in. I was able to get an eye exam and pick out new frames, from their great selection, in under 45 minutes!
