A fantastic friendly Clinton neighborhood optometrist. Takes insurance, and Dr Clouse takes his time, and is detail oriented to ensure every aspect of my vision is in great condition. I never feel rushed, and he listens to every concern that I might have. I feel at ease, and welcomed every time I come in for a visit. The lady at the front is informative, knowledgeable and answers any and every question that I might have regarding insurance and the cost of my contacts. Plus she gave me honest opinions on glasses, which is a bonus.
I am glad I have insurance, and I usually always know how much I will be covered, there has never been any surprise unexpected costs. As long as you know what your insurance covers, and what your out of pocket costs are, you shouldn’t have any monetary issues.

The ladies at Eyedentity helped me pick out the perfect pair, and they were so patient with me during the process. The eye exam was also the most thorough one I have ever had. He was the first person to ever notice I have an astigmatism!

Dr. Clouse is wonderful! The entire staff is so friendly too. They don’t push new products on you if not needed and were super helpful when I was picking out frames. Everything was really affordable with my VSP insurance. They will have my repeat business!

Great experience! The office has a very non clinical feel and is very inviting. Dr. Clouse was very thorough and informative. He recommended products and exercises for my eyes that i had never heard from another optometrist and i’ve been going since i was 13. His equipment is up to date as well. No dilation! He has a method to check your ocular health without the dreaded dilation. All the staff was wonderful as well:) Thanks guys!

KRISTIN, part 1: This concerns Kristin and her skills. I live in Eugene and usually have new glasses fitting nicely after 2 – 3 adjustments. Two years ago I was in Portland and stopped in the shop because I’d always planned to — and my newish frames really hurt! After Kristin adjusted them, they fit WONDERFULLY. No problem until I replaced those frames this spring… I have had the new frames adjusted six or seven times, maybe more. They still hurt! I’m up in Portland and decided to let Kristin work her magic for me once more. (I wanted/​still want to pay the shop but they won’t accept any money for adjustments. Even if you aren’t a customer!)
KRISTIN, part 2: Today only reinforced my estimate of Kristin’s (outstanding) ability. While using more than an hour of her time, she listened to my story/​concerns and made a number of adjustments, incrementally. My glasses now fit me and no longer cause me pain! I had been afraid that my frames, after so many adjustments in Eugene, could not be fixed. Gladly, I was wrong! Kristin worked MAGIC for me — again! Thanks so much, Kristin!!!

I had a great experience with Eyedentity. Dr. Clouse is excellent. He is personable, thorough and really takes the time to learn about your specific needs. The support staff is great as well. I wasn’t sure which pair of frames would work best for me and the woman that worked with me was extremely helpful. She asked specific questions about my daily activity ect. to help me choose the best frames and lens for what I needed. Lastly, I considered going to walmart or another chain eye clinic for my exam but when I called around I found that Eyedentity had the lowest price for an eye exam if you don’t have insurance. Really glad I chose to go here!

I’ve been going to Eyedentity for about eight years, and I’ve always had great experiences. The exams are quick, thorough and professional with the most modern technology (no eye dilating here). The front desk staff are superb. If I’m on my last pair of contacts, they always give me a free pair to hold me over until my order arrives. Buying frames here is like having a personal stylist. It’s an interview-​style consult, with questions about how you wear your hair, jewelry, typical clothing color palette, price range, and how funky you want your frames to be. Then they choose a dozen or so to start with. They narrow it down based on face shape, then have you start narrowing it down based on taste. You can have your picture taken in your finalists to compare. So fun, so easy.

The office is comfortable and spacious. Dr Clouse was knowledgable and thorough, answering all my questions. He was relaxed and didn’t rush through the visit. I appreciated the easy going atmosphere of this office.

I called two days ago when I realized that I was out of contacts and leaving for a five week trip next week. The Eyedentity staff happily got me an appointment this morning and my experience was great, as usual. Dr. Clouse is professional while taking time to ask and connect with his clients. The exam was thorough but efficient, and interacting with staff to order contacts and work out insurance was simple. Would recommend!

This place is great, been going here for year. Dr. Clouse is always really nice and they get you in and out quick, plus they are across the street from some cool bars when you’re done getting your peepers looked at!

Had lenses put in to a pair of frames I I bought at another retailer. It was over $ 200 just to have the lenses put in and took them 10 days. Since they already had my prescription I called again to have lenses put in another set of frames I purchased and they told me that the prescription I had on file was ILLEGAL and that they never should have done the first set of frames to begin with which is odd since I originally brought them a prescription from my optometrist. Also I have never heard of an illegal eye prescription. Regardless I explained the inherent contradiction of the situation and the woman I was speaking with got incredibly rude with me so I told her I would go with a different company but thanks anyways.
Bottom line this place is incredibly expensive, does not carry good frames, is VERY slow, and the customer service is beyond terrible. Hopefully they will be gone soon. Also the frames that they stock are incredibly ugly.

After 5 or more years of neglecting my eyesight (i.e. wearing old glasses that were on the brink of breaking), I called Eyedentity out of the blue and scheduled an appointment.
I spent the previous 24 years going to my family’s optometry clinic in Salem run by my aunt and uncle. Stepping into Eyedentity was the first time I had ever been to ANY other optometrist. I was initially concerned about what the experience would be like, never having been examined by anyone but my Uncle. That concern didn’t last long.
Right away, I was blown away by the thoroughness of my exam. Dr. Clouse and his staff performed a variety of screenings, tests and interviewed me extensively about my vision — something that I had never experienced before. Ultimately, I learned an incredible amount about my eyes and how they were aging and best practices for maintaining ocular health long term. Dr. Clouse recommended computer glasses and did a fabulous job of explaining the need and benefits. Looking back, I’m very glad I took his advice — my dull constant headache is gone now since I started using the computer glasses. They aren’t ‘glare reduction’ like the computer glasses I used to have in the 90’s. These actually focus your eyes in such a way that it doesn’t stress them out.
I ordered 3 pairs of glasses — sunglasses, computer glasses and a daily use pair. I appreciated the premium selection of frames — both in terms of brands and durability. Yes, they are expensive — but I got specs that will last and are stylish all at the same time. I’ve never been a fan of the costco/​walmart/​binyons model that pushes cheap, flimsy frames for cheap.
Sadly, the daily use glasses busted after 2 days of use — they literally blew up in my pocket — pieces were missing and the frame could not be re-​assembled (thankfully, I still had my old glasses lying around!). The team at Eyedentity was SUPER professional about replacing them. In fact, they went the extra mile+ of bringing the rep for a different line of ultra-​durable and super-​stylish frames to meet with me and try on the ENTIRE line of offerings until I found one I liked (OVO). The rep was super patient, professional and helpful in suggesting frames. It was an easy decision. My replacement specs showed up a few weeks later and I’m back in business and couldn’t be happier!
I highly recommend seeing Dr. Clouse and his staff. You’ll feel right at home and undoubtedly get the best treatment available in SE Portland!

As a new patient I found Dr. Clouse and his team to be awesome. Easy to schedule an appointment, a thorough explanation of all exams and results and expert handling of all my insurance needs. Personal, professional and local!

I started going to the optometrist a year ago just for general check up reasons. My vision has always felt very clear and crisp, no eye strain or issues focusing. A year ago I went to another optometrist and was prescribed for an astigmatism. I could not wear the glasses and went back 3 times and still found no use.
I came here to get a 2^nd opinion but had to wait a year so that my insurance would cover the eye exam. The optometrist confirmed ²⁰⁄₁₅ vision with no astigmatism. Wrote me a basic prescription for some computer glasses with minimal power, not pushy about where I bought them from though.
Great personalities, very friendly. The optometrist was very complete in his work and checked for all health issues relating to the eye. As long as my insurance permits it, I will remain a loyal patient to this optometrist. Thank you!

Great, comprehensive and insurance covered eye exam. Dr Clouse presents everything in a straight forward manner, allows time for questions and has state of the art equipment which means no eye drops! oh, i need glasses, but a nice way to find out.

I started visiting Eyedentity for glasses and contacts because I lived across the street. Now, I live across town, but I still come back because they are simply the best. Dr. Clouse is very friendly and just feels like you neighborhood eye doctor. You can tell that he loves his job. The front of house staff are also consistently friendly and knowledgeable. The other reason that I consistently return to Eyedentity is that they have an amazing selection of fashion-​forward glasses.

Everyone here is always very helpful and kind. It’s always a pleasure to come in and have quick friendly service. Dr. Clouse is extremely honest and makes you feel very comfertable. The frames that they sell here are more of designer brands and a bit more expensive but I have had my Betsy Johnson frames for almost 5 years and they are still in good condition. They will help you pick frames that look good to your face shape. I still love my frames even after all these years.

Got my first pair of glasses today at 32 yrs old. Everyone here made my experience very easy and enjoyable. They surpassed my expectations and would definitely recommend them to friends.

I went here for the first time today. Dr. Clouse was awesome. I love the technology they have there to check your eyes. The ladies working out front were super helpful and friendly as well. They have a good selection of glasses and a variety of prices. I would recommend going here.
