Went here on Saturday morning and got the Goat in the Headlights — absolutely loved it. The waffle was so crispy and sweet on the outside and soft on the inside. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the ingredients were all fresh and wonderful. We thought the food at Off the Waffle was more delicious than the similar waffles we had previously tried at Waffle Window. We will go here again.

Wow! Probably the best waffle plate I have ever had. I’m not from Portland or anything but this was my first stop when I woke up for my first day here and I can surely say this is the place to be! Damn it’s good!

My friend took me to Off The Waffle yesterday for breakfast, and oh me gee, I can’t wait to go back! I got the H-Bomb, which is a waffle with sliced apples, havarti cheese, cinnamon, and maple syrup. It was the perfect blend of sweet and savory, and it was a generous portion. The restaurant is fairly small, and I can see it getting pretty crowded in there, so just prepare yourself for that. If you order coffee, you can grab a cup while you wait for your food. The credit card machine wasn’t working when we arrived, and neither of us had cash. One of the employees figured out how to rig up her phone and laptop to take credit card payments, and she came over and sat at our table to take our payment. Quick thinking and ingenuity! (Apparently I wrote this draft and never posted my review… oops! I ate at Off The Waffle a few months ago.)

Whenever we go to Portland we make sure to stop by Off the Waffle. My family and I love this place. In fact, I miss it right now. I wish I could go there tomorrow morning for breakfast but it’s too far. I love how it’s all organic. They make the best waffles and even the coffee tasted great! The topper… you have to use their restroom. My husband and son snuck me in, and there, in the bathroom, we had a mini dance party. The disco light switch put a huge smile on my face. Thank you Off the Waffle for your existence.

You pay first and then find a table and they bring you your waffles and then you clean your own table for the next person. The place only has about 9 tables and people were getting real aggressive. Holding tables before they had a number, people hovering around, and then people asking for your table before you finish eating followed by staring at you while you eat. If you have any form of social anxiety I would suggest eating else where. Price points. $ 10 for my waffle and $ 2.50 to add whipped cream. Meh. Could you imagine if a coffee shop charged you $ 2.50 to add whipped cream to your drink? The waffles were good but seemed pricy for the portions. They did have a waffle priced at $ 5.50 for banana slices and chocolate drizzle if you didn’t want whipped cream on it. I would come back if someone else wanted to come here, but I wouldn’t suggest it or seek it out again on my own.

Cute little place on the corner of a street! We sat outside and it was a perfect weather to sit on a picnic bench and enjoy some delicious waffle. We ordered the Off the Waffle and Goats in Headlights. My husband really enjoyed Off the Waffle because he likes bacon. There was bacon and thicker pork belly. I didn’t enjoy Goats in Headlights as much because it was overloaded with goat cheese! I like goat cheese, but I thought they put too much of it. However, the waffle itself is so yummy! Crispy outside and perfect amount of sweetness on the waffle! It’s definitely different from typical Belgian waffle. My favorite thing about this place was the bathroom! Make sure to flick the light switch down when you go to the bathroom! You will be dancing to a music with funky lights while doing your business ;)

Pretty good waffle but way too expensive. Casual atmosphere; order and seat yourself, coffee is self serve(heated mugs is a nice touch), etc. Itwas a great meal other than the fact that the prices are high and the portions are small. You also have to pay for syrup which seems ridiculous. Overall, not a bad stop just BYOS(bring your own syrup).

This place is amazing! I got the Goat in headlights, and its probably one of the best breakfastsI have ever had! The Waffle is amazing and cooked perfectly and with the egg and goat cheese this is the prefect blend of flavors. I think everyone at the table I was with was so happy, weather it was savory or sweet! Highly recommmend!!!

Waffles were super flaky and the pork belly bacon was so addicting. Also the bathroom was a trip ! Doing your business with the disco lights is like having a party while you relieve yourself. Not a bad way to start your day I guess lol

I’ve been to Off the Waffle since they first opened in Eugene. The food is good, but for Portland where the competition is fierce, I don’t think this location stands out from the rest. For the price, your portion is pretty tiny. The self-service model with a tiny space(often crowded on the weekends) is not working. They do offer their waffles in a freezer bag so you can take them home. I also wish they will bring their bacon infused waffle back!

Off the Waffle has some of the nicest fluffiest golden waffles I’ve ever had in my life. I love the sweet and savory options but it makes it tough to decide. Top quality ingredients are obvious as well. Bright yellow yolks in the eggs, organic produce… everything comes together for a happy breakfast/brunch visit. The coffee is also very nice! Not to pricey and you’ll leave full!

How good are these waffles!!! Answer: so good. I love that they have both sweet and savory options. I love the space. I love the super friendly staff. And I love that all of their produce is 100% organic. We ordered the Wiffle waffle and the Hey Bob. We also got a side of bacon and I got my waffle topped with both whipped cream AND syrup. In my defense, I just got a ton of blood taken at the doctor’s office, was fasting, and I needed some sugar in me. So, yeah, things add up quickly when you add the extras. .75 for syrup, 2.50 for whipped cream. $ 4 for 3 strips of bacon. So I suggest keeping it simple. And I will next time… and also make sure that I don’t come here after fasting for blood-work. But the waffles were perfect. Great texture and the right amount of crispiness-to-fluffiness-ratio. Their savory options are really unique, too. Havarti cheese, cinnamon, and apples. Onion jam, bacon, and balsamic reduction with goat cheese, pear, and basil!(Catches breath) That waffle will set you back $ 10 though, and is the most expensive one. There’s also a plate that gives you a little bit of everything and sous-vide pork belly for $ 12. Why did I not even see this option before? The coffee was great, too. And even though they serve Costco orange juice, that was good too.

I am a huge fan of waffles(boo pancakes) and this place definitely topped my radar. Cute little place in the neighborhood on Clinton. They have quite the variety of different types of waffles toppings. The waffles themselves without any toppings are much different than other waffles… a little more sweet and fluffier than usual. I got the bacon maple egg waffle which seems to be pretty popular. My friend got the fruit covered waffle which wasn’t anything super special(just topped with fruit) but still delicious. My only negative comment is that it seemed to take longer than expected especially for a tuesday around 11(although it did seem to be a little busy). But well worth the wait. Definitely would recommend Off the Waffle.

Waffles! Yes this is one of the best breakfasts ive ever had. At some point I will have to try everything on the menu. I have had lots of types of waffles before but the simple and sometimes complex pairings of flavors of the ingredients. It is a fine art here, and their hard work pays off for the taste buds!

One of the best waffles I’ve ever had in my entire life! It has the perfect balance of flavors, the right texture it’s beyond amazing! Hard to put into words you just have to try it for yourself and see what I’m talking about. Great good, great customer service overall a great place to go for a good meal. Definitely one of the best places to go to eat in Portland and one of my favorite restaurants to go out of all the different restaurants I’ve been to in different cities and different states this place is very good. And I can’t stress enough about the customer service and how friendly the people are that work there. If you live in Portland and you have never been I recommend it, and if you don’t live in Portland and you are just passing through and you are looking for a great place to go for some great food this is definitely the place.

Holy moly — this place is amazing! My cousin and I were wanting to brunch at Broder, but the wait was too long. We saw this place across the street and headed over. I got the Braise of Glory waffle with harvati cheese, a sunny side up egg, pork belly and basil and it was AMAZING! My cousin was going to ask me how I liked it, but then noticed that I had totally polished it off, so the answer was clear. :) My only complaint is that it’s so small that it took us awhile to find a spot to sit and the food actually took quite a while to come out, as well. If my tummy wasn’t so happy, I would have been more upset about it!

They took soooooo long(too darned long) with our order – much over :20 min. Was so hungry I ordered something from broder across the street, only to learn I had to wait :20 there! Oh my Disappointing because I always compare waffles to Waffle Window. This place doesn’t come close, but I like V much that it’s a fam business— And the menu seems innovative. Just didn’t translate all that well to reality. Dough quality and Pearl sugar crunch of the liege: average They were our of strawberries and banana by early afternoon!!! What??!
