Went here looking for shoes, not one sales person asked if we needed assistance, and we were there for about 15 – 20 minutes. Shoes seemed over priced and not the greatest selection.

The assistant manager of this store just refused to sell my mother a pair of shoes because they didn’t scan in the computer system and it would throw off his inventory. Good to know that accurate inventory counts are more important than satisfied customers!

I came to Mall 205 because there were a couple of things that I wanted from Target. I happened to park in front of Famous Footwear and decided to walk in here first because I have been looking for some new running shoes. I’m a die-hard Brooks fan but thought, just maybe, I could find something in here that was a little easier on my pocketbook. First pair I laid my eyes on were the Asics Gel-Noosa Tri 8, which were on sale. Perfect. I grabbed them and walked around to see what else I could find. They stock a lot of Asics and Nike, that’s for sure, but I didn’t see much else that caught my eye. I just don’t know enough about Asics or Nike, other than that they have some really aesthetically pleasing options, which is probably the least of my cares when it comes to a quality running shoe. So I sat down on a bench to try on the Asics, as I was googling on my phone the specs and reviews. A young male came over to see how I was doing, saw the shoes that I had, and started gushing about how great they are. I told him that I liked the way they looked but wasn’t sure if they were the right shoe for me. I let him know that I’ve had my gait analyzed, have been running in the Brooks Ghost series for a couple years and that I was looking for a neutral shoe designed for mid-forefoot striking and high mileage. He kind of side-stepped my question and started talking about his own running experience and how fast he runs his mile in. I tried a few times to steer the conversation back to the shoe, but he wanted to chat about my mile time and where I run. Ok. He was nice but not helpful at all. I got the impression he was a high school kid, working at his summer job. He walked off after a few minutes, asking me to let him know if I needed anything else. I sat there a little bit longer, trying to see if I could find any more info on my own, when another staff member walked by and said, «You can never go wrong with a pair of Asics.» Oh really? Why? That’s an interesting generalization to make of an entire brand. Surely not all of their shoes are designed the same. Needless to say, I walked out of here without buying anything. Bottom line is if you are looking for some Chucks or some flip-flops, Famous Footwear has great selection, but if you are looking for a good running shoe, go to Foot Traffic, Fit Right NW or any specialty running store. Famous Footwear employees(at least the ones at this location) know nothing about running shoes.

If you have giant lady feet, don’t bother coming here. I had hoped that I’d be able to find some cute clown shoes in my size(11) and found that only about 1⁄10 of the shoes were available in this. We’re not talking about the clearance shoes, either. This is for the entire women’s side. It was a disappointment and makes me wish it was possible to just wear the boxes for shoes instead. That’s about all they had to offer me. Though, if you wear a normal lady size shoe, they have you covered.

Went here to get my work shoes and I sometimes go here for just regular shoes. The clearance items are fairly priced, minus the ones that are like $ 60, the service is amazing and friendly, and I LOVE the socks. The only thing that I didn’t like was that you guys didn’t hire me about a month or two ago. I tried my hardest to impress you but I guess someone with a big fat resume and tons of experience got the job anyway. :/

Little did I know that checking in to a business with zero reviews would make me the Duke of Shoes. What?! I don’t know if that is a title I want. To make the most of it anyway, Famous Footwear sells more shoes(styles and types — for men and women) than what you can fit into my girlfriend’s closet. I probably would not have stopped here without the coupon they sent me in the mail and their buy one get one half off in-store special. I did find exactly what I was looking for with no troubles. The experience was not disappointing, from the helpful floor salespeople(one suggested I walk on different surface types to get the full feel of a new shoe, and another who ran to a customer in distress shouting, «Help is on the way!!!») to the cashier who took my money and had me on my way in less than two minutes.
