Portland’s Fleur De Lis is an elegant bakery. They serve all kinds of breads for snacks and for lunch, along with plenty of beverages. Lots of tables are present, including lots of outdoor tables. I have been here plenty of times. The prices are mostly good. I’d also much rather study here than Starbucks, especially as it nears a public library and a light rail station. The pastries are good, I had a great berry scone. I’ve had better with the similar marionberry scone at Elephant’s Deli. When I had lunch awhile back, it took some substantial amount of time. I would happily come again, though for a snack, not for lunch. Try this if you are in the Hollywood District.

Great vibe, good food(try the bacon) and tasty coffee. Favorite place to eat in the Hollyood district.

I’ve tried in failure before to get my hands on their potato donut, but found out it was only available on Saturdays. This time I was in town for the weekend, so I had to try it. Afterall, it made a top donut on a thrillest list! Unfortunately, this fell flat for me. I haven’t had a potato donut before, so perhaps I’m just ignorant. However, I would say there was a nice hard outer crust texture, but the interior just tasted dry. Probably should have ordered a coffee here to dip the donut.

As irregular but adventurous visitors to Portland, my husband and I pride ourselves on making new«discoveries» — and this charming establishment(tucked in the Hollywood District) was so delightful that we visited two mornings in a row. The lattes are outstanding, as are the granola and the bacon — not to mention the friendly and efficient service. The outside patio provides pet-friendly privacy, which our puppy enjoyed while sharing a bite of our eggs!

I will definitely go again. They have several vegetarian options and I loved the homemade fusion iced teas. The vibe is casual and friendly. We had plenty of time to get there and back from the office.

Ordered a 16 oz chai and got a cup with with about 12−14oz of chai. The coffee was ok and actually filled the cup. The cookie was not very good, dry and not very flavorful. We’ve had their brownies before and they were very tasty.

A typical café I would say. The food is standard café food. I didn’t particularly like my salad that much. I will say that they have excellent coffee and pastries, though. The hazelnut croissant is a DREAM. I could probably eat so many of those at once. Latte was also good — super strong espresso and not too much milk, just the way I like it and not gypping people out of espresso! My friend got the lavender mocha, and the sip I had was amazing. I don’t ever get flavored coffee drinks because I think that the added syrup/flavor will just overpower the point of the drink — the espresso itself. But in this case, wow wow wow — the lavender did not take over the entire drink at all, especially because it was a mocha! That is just a lot of flavors in one espresso drink, but it was so good. Espresso still strong all the way through, mocha and lavender perfectly complementing each other. Great pastries & coffee!

In what used to be the neighborhood library decades ago this place keeps the community feel going. Recent remodeling to increase seating and formalize the counter area were great moves, and the treat layout is wide-ranging and delicious, altho I find it hard to order anything but the chocolate chip oatmeal cookie. Best in town. Nice coffee drinks. Great place to meet a friend, catch up on emails solo, or grab ‘n’ go. Just wish they were open a bit later on weekdays.

Got the Cubano and was really impressed with the fries. The meat wasn’t as flavorful as it should have been but the toppings were sufficient to make up for it. The place was clean and fairly empty at noon on a Sunday afternoon. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Neighborhood bakery. Nice staff and cool atmosphere. They have quality food for bfast or lunch and good bread. They close early. You feel they are passionate about what they do. Their muffins and American pastries are good too. Only downside is that I personally find it over priced for what it offers. Portions are not always very big either. I’ve been to France many times and the same French pastries or bread are usually 2 to 3 times cheaper for the same quality if not better. Why does French food always have to be overpriced in the US?

Very nice place with a friendly staff. Had sandwiches for lunch with cool iced teas. Interesting flavor combinations. You place your order at the counter and they bring your food to you. We bussed our own table when leaving. The pastry cases looked amazing! We didn’t imbibe but if you like that kind of treat I would send you here!

I love the ambiance of this bakery, but sadly my breakfast here was one of the more awkward and disappointing meals I’ve had in Portland. The staff may have been a bit inexperienced, as they kept getting our order mixed up and having trouble handling the mix-up in a tactful way. My omelette was small and *very* overcooked — rubbery and on the bland side, overpriced at $ 12. I had a lavender mocha which I wouldn’t get again since the Monin syrup they use made it too sweet and not floral enough for my taste. The multigrain toast was great though — I would return just for the bread. In my rush to leave that awkward space I totally forgot to bus my table as requested, so I’m sorry about that, if anyone from the restaurant is reading! I’ll give you all another try sometime…

Awesome! Im not into foofoo coffee. I like it like black. The coffee was outstanding, rich and full of flavor. My girl ordered a raspberry mocha she mentioned not tasting much raspberry but said it was still better than average. The thing thay sets this place apart from the rest is their pastry selection and food options. The granola plate was a nice variety of homemade granola and fruit and a cup of yogurt. The granola was really good. We definitely will be back!

I have a hard time not giving 5 stars to this under-the-radar Portland spot. No, it’s not the hippest place, in the hippest hood, offering some sort of fancy bougey up-jumped menu. It’s just damn solid. Little known fact — Fleur De Lis makes bread for some of the best sandwich shops in town. A good sandwich starts with good bread, and the rolls from Fleur De Lis are pretty much perfect. Soft, but they get crusty in a panini press. Not so tough or dry that you have to chew in to them, but with enough structure to stand up to sauces and condiments. Yup — the folks at Fleur make fantastic rolls. But venture in to their shop, and you’ll get an opportunity to try all the other great things they make, like pastries, pies, sandwiches, soups, coffee, etc. There’s a large indoor area with a covered outdoor patio for seating, dining, laptopping, etc. The pastries are delicious. The coffee is Water Ave. The sandwiches are super good. And the staff? Friendly. While the building and the style may seem a little dated, every other component of a 5-star bakery/café is here. And every component is good. The savory options are not an afterthought. Neither is the coffee. I don’t spend much time in the black hole of traffic patterns that is Hollywood, but this is my top go-to spot in the hood for lunch, breakfast, meetings, etc.

Parking is on the street but we had no problem finding a nearby spot around the corner on a Monday around 10:30 a.m. They have a good sized outdoor seating area but it was too cold for that. Ray Charles and Etta James croon from the sound system, groups meet and hug before settling in, and loners sit quietly pecking away or reading in this large bakery/café. High ceilings and a somewhat sparse interior rule out a cozy feel, but the hangout factor is obvious because the staff is friendly, pastries plentiful, seating abounds, and the coffee and tea menus entice. Brunch and breakfast offerings make this more than just a coffee shop and bakery. We both had the plantain omelette with queso and spinach, although nary a green leaf could be found tucked into the simple and very tasty egg dish. I didn’t miss it though. The plantains complemented the eggs and cheese and it was the right size for a satisfying brunch dish. The potatoes were ok but nothing special. The real star was the crunchy crusted whole grain toast. Two nice slices, studded with seeds and with a perfect mix of crunch and chewiness, rounded out the meal. I’m a sucker for delicious teas and I had Bombay Calling tea which is one of my favorites. Good with milk and sugar. I was encouraged to come back for more hot water if I wanted it. Order at the counter and clear your own table when you’re done, but if you order food it is brought to your table by a pleasant server. Parents with their children seemed at home so it’s not a bad place to bring the little ones. The desserts are tempting and the items we sampled on an earlier visit were quite good. I like a little cozier feel in a coffee shop but the food and people were good and I will probably visit again.

Breakfast. The most important meal of the day. Well, this was my second breakfast of the day, but who’s counting? Fleur De Lis was in the immediate area to the shop I was heading to later(when it opened) and I was basically relaxing and killing time, so another breakfast would do it for me. A quick Unilocal search and a five minute walk got me here. As soon as you walk in, the smells of coffee and fresh pastries, and bread hit you and that’s a great thing to want, as apposed to smelling rotten tuna in the morning. So you understand where I’m coming from. Anyways, it’s a rather large place, or at least the high ceilings make it appear so. Two women at the counter, one making coffee and the other handling the pastries. I browsed around and saw some rather large cinnamon buns and that’s what I went for. I was surprised they didn’t offer to heat it up, and I thought about asking the woman, but whatever. I also got a 12oz hot chocolate, as I am not a coffee drinker. I know, it’s sacrilegious in this town that I don’t drink coffee. All I know, is that their version of a 12oz hot chocolate is pretty darn big. The photo I took doesn’t do it justice. It was also good and not too hot. In other words, it didn’t burn the roof of my mouth when I took a sip. Bonus points on that and the cool leaf design with the cream on top. The cinnamon bun was good, but I think it would have been even better heated up. My fault. Good place, good prices and when in Hollywood it’s a great breakfast option. Enjoy.

Pastries were okay, not the best in town. Service was quite friendly. My latte looked dismally grey. Overall an OK spot for an afternoon but nothing stood out.
