Stacy is the best! I always look forward to my hair appointments! She does a great job with my hair (I’ve gone from blonde, to dark brown, to platinum) I also just enjoy chatting with Stacy! Their prices are VERY reasonable. You will love this place!

You know I’ve been getting my hair cut and dyed since I was twelve years old. I’ve had great hair styles and I’ve had some, well… Remember Josie and the Pussycats? You get the picture. Thao has been my hair dresser off and on for several years. No one does color as well. She is funny and makes the salon experience worth it. I will admit that Iolite is expensive. But, if you can afford it… Even if it means only going every three months instead of every six weeks, it’ll be worth it. Your hair will thank you. Go see Thao. Tell her McKenzie sent you :)

Stacey gave my wife an amazing hair style!
My wife’s hair was looking a little wild. She was letting her hair grow out. Recently at an event we attended, my wife liked the speaker’s hair. I snapped a photo of the speaker and my wife showed it to Stacey, hairstylist at Lolite. The speaker happened to be Stacey’s client too. Wow! What a Coincidence!
My wife’s hair looks fantastic! Great style by Stacey! And even after a shower without a blow dry the style works.

Thao is an excellent hair stylist and I commend her to you without reservation. I’ve been going to her 10 plus years, she is kind and friendly. Very funny but professional. She is extremely flexible, will do whatever it takes to squeeze you in. She’s the BEST stylist in Portland! Her work is phenomenal, gives amazing advice. to look or feel extremely attractive You’ll look like a million dollars and a brand new person after you see her. MUST try her out.
Salon is in an upscale area. Love the area. Parking is off street, pay to park. The salon is clean, simple, chic and modern.

Thao is an Awesome stylist who is talented, creative, energetic and personable. She is super trendy, professional and fun, and always listens to my needs, so I leave feeling great! She is energetic and always runs on time and the results are never less than Perfect! Her cutting techniques and coloring is the best out there. She does an Amazing job and if I need her last minute, I can always count on her to squeeze me in. Thao is the Best stylist Ever and I highly recommend her! The salon is modern and clean. You will not be disappointed.

MARCIANO! How did I live without him?
I just discovered Iolite Salon after my previous stylist moved out of state. I was particularly searching for someone who uses Wella color, as it works so «wella» in my hair! ;) As fate would have it, I found Marciano/​Iolite online and couldn’t be happier. I am absolutely *thrilled* with color and cut, and have already booked my next two appointments with him.
The salon is small, no-​frills, yet nice and without pretension. I was nervous, but Marciano put me at ease quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Not only is he talented, he is warm and very good at communicating with his clients.
Iolite Salon and Marciano have my highest recommendations! You will not be disappointed!

Thao has been my hair stylist since I can remember. I wouldn’t doubt that I had the most expensive hair cuts throughout school. Thao ROCKS and it is totally worth it! I’ve followed her through a couple different salons, so I guess my review is more of Thao, herself, then Iolite, the salon.
What I love about seeing Thao is that I never need to tell her what to do. I say «Thao, do what you want.» And I know it will look good. How many people could say that to the person cutting their hair? I have never had a hair cut that I did not like from her and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone new.

I recently moved to Portland from NYC, where I would have assumed the best salons are, but my experience at Iolite has totally changed my East coast prejudice! Marciano cut my hair for only $ 50 and I think this is the best cut I’ve ever had. My husband keeps telling me how hot I look. The salon is airy and unpretentious, the products are top of the line, and the stylists all seemed very professional yet laid-​back and friendly. Marciano was chatty in a really good way, telling me about great places to visit in Oregon (great info) while carefully cutting my ragged mop into a sexy, edgy long cut that I love. I will definitely go back!

I just also wanted to comment on Thao – she does a GREAT JOB with both cut and color. When I first went to her, I had gotten a really unflattering haircut from another salon in the neighborhood and she was able to really improve it, not to mention give me some great highlights. Later that day I got a lot of compliments on my hair (since it looked so much better than it did before with the previous haircut). I’ve been going to Thao since! I highly recommend her. Plus she’s very upbeat and a hoot to talk to.

My mom and my sister have been singing Thao’s praises for years, and when I showed up for a visit after a really, truly heinous dye job at a swanky SF salon, they knew Thao could fix it.
It turns out that Thao is not only hilarious and full of energy, but also gifted at color. She devised a fabulous combination of red and blonde highlights to camoflage my dark roots growing into the terrible burnt orange, and then gave me a cute, choppy cut that has my mom insisting I come to Portland to get my hair done every time.

I used to go to this swanky place in LA called Umberto to get my hair cut, and while it was pretty good (and I got a deal through a friend) I think my hair stylist gave me «The Rachel» for many more years than it was hip.
Enter Iolite Salon, and Thao, a stylist supreme who I let color my hair for the first time a few years ago and now I’m hooked. My caramel highlights fetch compliments from strangers at least once a week, and everyone want to know where I go. Well now you do, call her ASAP. You won’t be sorry.
