Update: Sold the joint and everything changed. Too bad, cuz it could have been great.

Now THIS is what Hawaiian food tastes like… On the air plane on the way to Hawaii. Weirdest food experience ever. There’s nothing Hawaiian about this food. I tried 3 different dishes and they were all bland, boring and tasted the same. I cannot believe I actually paid for this crap. Just cut up pieces of chicken cooked with some onions and jalepenos and put on too of rice. Pissed. No wonder this place closed.

I love the idea behind this cart. It completely fails in execution. It seems more like a bid at being part of the food cart hipster community than actually trying to build a business, deliver quality product consistently and service. There never open when they say they will be. Seem to always be closed when it’s too hot and sunny out… The food sucks. Over priced. Much better to go to a restaurant serving Hawaiian food. I think the reason being is it’s hard to make it on the spot, so it has to be done ahead of time. Much harder to predict food cart crowd. Some of the food is okay, nothing special. It’s defiantly edible but not memorable. The shave ice IS great but they are rarely open when you really want one… I do recommend trying the shave ice if they are open and you want a big treat. My other problem is $ 4 and card minimum at $ 5 while serving shirty over priced food is a problem. I know they need to make money but food carts are suppose to be cheaper. Or incredibly high end, quality ingredients and special prep at a lower price than a restaurant but over the standard $ 6 – 7 for a lunch size meal. I get a little lost when prices start to get much higher because wouldn’t it make sense to just go to a restaurant or stay home? So $ 4 for ice and syrup seems exorbitant even if it is big, too big. They need a kids size. Post a big sign cash only, if your gonna do a minimum for the square card make it a reasonable minimum. If your lowest priced item is $ 4 make it $ 4 as a minimum purchase. It’s better than having tons of people walk with money to spend but not feeling like using the ATM on foster. Guy who said Mac and cheese was wonderful obviously has never been to Safeway/fm deli section. I completely agree with the other review so obviously«resers» Mac salad. I would eat it but as $ 4 side, really? Wtf Just avoid this place. They are trying but kinda suck

Ordered food for delivery. I was expecting actual Hawaiian macaroni salad, not a couple scoops of nasty Reser’s straight from the deli at Safeway. How can a Hawaiian restaurant not even make their own Mac salad and then charge $ 4 for it? That was ridiculous and just robbery. The luau beef was dry and not marinated or seasoned, the whole meal was terrible and I should have just walked down the street to Ate-oh-Ate.
