Love the chicken Katsu here, as well as the Khalua pulled pork, and spam musubi(spam musubi is life). I know this is a Hawaiian place and I should always order the Hawaiian food, but I’ll be damned if they don’t make he best french fries and cheeseburger my clogged arteries could desire. They cook the fries in the same oil as the Katsu, making them crack, basically.

being from Hawaii, was very happy to find this L&L in Oregon City. Ordered the katsu plate and spam musubi, was pleased to find that the food tasted pretty much like from L&L’s back home. Only complaint was that the mac salad was a bit thicker than usual, my bf said that it tasted a bit old and like they used cream cheese. Despite that, will be back here when I’m homesick for L&L!

We went here from a recommendation of a native Hawaiian and he told us the katsu was awesome. I will admit he was right about that. But that was the only thing that we really like there. The Mac salad was so heavily dresses we went home boiled more noodles and added it to the salad. They don’t have a grill just a flat top so u don’t get the char on the teriyaki chicken like u should and the teriyaki sauce was like water. That katsu was grt the sauce was nice and think chicken well seasoned and breaded so I guess if in at Walmart and hungry for some katsu I’ll see stop in but otherwise I’ll skip this place.

First tried this place the first week they opened, and I enjoyed eating here for awhile. Came back for the first time in a long while and found the place has gone quite downhill– dirty tables, dirty walls and it looks disorganized. The Mac salad was flavorless, the ribs were still good but too fatty, and the chicken was fine. You get a lot of food for the price, but quality just isn’t there anymore.

Dirty Dirty Dirty!!! Food was good enough, but by far the dirtiest eating establishment I have ever been to. Literally everywhere you look is covered in grime. Disgusting!

We weren’t greeted when we first entered. The cashier was unprofessional the way he spoke. They ran out of receipt paper so asked us to wait while he went to go borrow from a store next door. The cook didn’t wash his hands. The cashier helped take lettuce and prep plates with his bare unwashed hands. Our chicken was undercooked. The food was bland. Someone in our group asked for an extra plate with a spoon and fork and it took a while for them to get it while no one was at the counter. The bathrooms were filthy. It was an overall horrible experience. I only give it a star because you need to in order to post but it should really be negative. We love L&L but this place definitely didn’t feel part of the chain. We will never go back and don’t recommend it to anyone.

The customer service was great. The cashier/cook greeted me immediately and was friendly. He deserves 5 stars. The food, however, is the reason for only 3 stars. I ordered the mini size curry shrimp. $ 7.00 is definitely too much for the size and taste of it. There was about 3 small pieces of shrimp in what tasted like gravy with a scoop of rice, two potatoes and two carrots. The spam musubi was delicious though. I gobbled that down quickly.

Me: from Hawaii Chicken Katsu, $ 7.50 Had to ask for katsu sauce Apparently regular size here is not even the mini size in Hawaii(i thought food in the mainland supposed to be cheaper). At least give me a lil more rice. Good fix for home style katsu. 4 stars for comfort food(would be 3 if it was just a regular restaurant)

Waited over 30 minutes for food. No apology or notice that they would take awhile. Very bad service. So bad it doesn’t matter how good the food is.

Had the mixed bbq plate. Chicken was chewy and it tasted old. The beef also seemed overcooked. Rice was stale. Didn’t want to try the mac salad. Tried to give this place another chance, but unfortunately it did not deliver.

Been a few months since my last visit, and something definitely has changed! I ordered spam musabi and the mahi mahi plate the spam was sliced so thin I couldn’t even taste it! And the fish was a fillet of a fillet that was more than likely fillet agin so all u could taste was the dirty oil it was fryed in. Needless to say this place should be ashamed of themselves definitely NOT Ono!

Moved to Oregon from Hawaii was super excited to be able to still enjoy local foods here-went to this place Friday night cook touched other non food items then went back to cooking, cashier took my cash and went back to assist making my food with out washing his hands either. The food suck the restaurant was dirty especially the kitchen. I will never return here.

The food is not bad. But the building itself looks trashi and dirty and the teriyaki sauce looks and tastes water down and the macaroni doesn’t taste fresh.

First of all this place is in need of a major cleaning and/or remodel. I’m not oppose to hole in the wall joints, as long as it has SOMETHING going for it, and this place didn’t. I ordered the Kalua Pork, which was $ 10. It comes with a watered down pile of overly salty pork, a couple small scoops of rice, and a small(and i mean small) container of the nastiest creamiest macaroni salad I have ever had. The teriyaki sauce was so thin and watery, is was literally like brown water, so salty, and no flavor. This place just failed on all accounts, the price point was way too high for the quality. The only saving grace for me was the chicken that my buddy ordered that was decent, and for that I give you 2 stars. I am sorry L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, I hope to see an improvement from you guys in the near future. Best of luck.

Big food that fills you up. They are not skimping on anything here. I’ve had L&L before down in Texas and I’ve had food from this location when it was catered to my job one holiday season. it’s good, solid grub. Great big portions of Chicken Katsu for me that were so crispy on the outside and moist on the inside that I was surprised that I ate it all and it appeared to be at least two breasts cut up. The sweet sauce, the Hawaiian bbq sauce and the spicy Hawaiian bbq sauce were all great, especially drizzled over the two large mounds of rice and on the chicken as well. The macaroni salad was a bit bland. Oh well, not all hits. Service was lax. Granted, one guy was running things. There was a second, but not sure what he was doing other than getting himself a soda. The place could use a freshing up as well. It’s a bit stale. I will admit that it was kind of cool that they were pumping in a local Hawaiian station over the Internet. Cool vibes brah. But the food is solid and I will make way back there as soon as I can. I want some lau lau. Aloha.

Sadly, their recipes have changed and/or the quality of food has changed. And that sucks, because this place is super close to my house and I’m back in town from college and I really was craving some once amazing, L&L. I always order a Mix BQQ plate with extra mac salad. And it’s always pretty good! Especially the macaroni salad! It’s my favorite thing ever. But today when I ordered it, the pasta was undercooked and it was hard and weird. The flavor just wasn’t right. The meat, was okay. A little dry, chicken tasted a tad overdone. Overall, it was flavorless and just bland. Even with BQQ sauce, it didn’t taste good. And being Asian, I’m an avid rice eater. I make rice on the daily, you know, as my life calls for it. But this rice I could tell was either extremely overcooked, or there just wasn’t enough water when they cooked it, OR what’s worst is this is old rice. It was brittle and just not appealing whatsoever! I’m really disappointed in this once hidden gem. Sad to say, I’ll be finding some place else for my Hawaiian food, even if that means driving to Corvallis to get some Local Boyz.

Yeah, it’s dirty and you probably won’t receive the most enthusiastic service but it’s damn good food. It’s a lunch plate chain straight from Hawaii and they have the best mac salad on the mainland.

Let me just say this L&L is by far the worst«hawaiian BBQ resturant in all of oregon. I tryed there burgers it was the onion bbq burger that was just grease and fat ! Second. I had a really bad encounter with one of the drivers, I was on my bike and he was turning left, i was headed towards him. he almost hit me cause he felt like some hot shot driver going to beat the cyclist to the intersection.(FYI he drove a gold honda van) i hope someone finds hm!

Strongly dislike this location I ordered the simplest order. Just a cheeseburger and fries! Not to complicated, right?! It took over 15 minutes for my food to come out. With that sort of timing my cheeseburger should of been Explosive. ITWASN’T! Beaverton location is MUCHHHBETTER!

Came here with the boys for lunch today. The food was ok… the service was great. The cashier was super friendly and outgoing. We ordered spam misubi, chicken katsu, lau lau/Kaluhau(sp?), and the bbq plate. I think the flavor of everything was decent but the meats itself just didn’t taste fresh. I don’t have much to comment, it wasn’t the worst but it wasn’t good. I will most likely not be going back. I only ate ½ of my plate but I did not take it home. It was served in a togo container but the bf and I both knew we would not eat it later. Not taking home my leftovers is a bad sign.
