I’m never going to this place again brunch is over at 12 it’s 11:30 and there no food out the guy at the omlet station wasn’t even there. This place is a joke for cheap as it is there are way better places to eat and get your money’s worth.

So I’ve been attempting to make myself a regular at this bar. The service the last few times has been underwhelming but food is good and they play the Blazers games. 90% of the reason I’m there. Tonight 12−5−15 however was an insult. I arrived at 4:45 to watch the 5 pm game. Ordered food immediately. I waited until Halftime. Nobody came to check on me. No food. Over an hour. I left. Called to let the manager know. Talked to a guy named Wes. At this point I’ll find a bar that wants my business. Very disappointed and no reason to come back. A lot of options to choose from.

I love this place! The drinks are great, the food is amazing, and the staff are phenomenal. I love coming here and watching the blazer games. They give away free tickets and blazer items. Very much recommended.

When my son and I arrived at Magillicuddy’s the first thing I noticed was that it was a lot like the old dirty D in New Bedford, Mass where we used to take three steps down physically and morally to enter the place. My fears were not allieved when we walked in as the din in the place was unbearable to my son who has Downs Syndrome and is averse to noise. However, the staff sprung into action at the sight of our trepidation and found a booth for us away from the revelers who were celebrating a retirement and had been there for 6 hrs. Our waitress was very attentive and as we enjoyed the Patriots clobbering the Dolphins, she served our salad which was very good. Then ouah ohdah arrived and Bryan’s fish and chips were quite good and my steak was excellent, especially considering the price. In addition Bryan’s cole slaw was excellent and being from New England, we know about cole slaw.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 5 years but never gave this place a thought. A co-worker said it was good so I tried it last night. He was right! Excellent steak for $ 12(Thursday night special). Great service, and the place seemed clean. Clamity Jaes was my go-to for late night bar food. Not any more!

I was going to met some friends here and found out that the wheelchair ramp that is suppose be wheelchair accessible you have to call them to unlock the door to it. It also is not wheelchair accessible, yes there is a ramp but it is not ADA code and if there was a fire a person in a wheelchair would not be able to get out. I had to go home before I even got in and didn’t get to meet with my friends.

Only when here because it got really high reviews well my review would be a one star if it wasn’t for that environment in the creativity and all of that big TVs. They were extremely rude the customer service sucks majorly. The guy came up to us and asked us what we wanted to drink we said it had been our first time there so we needed a minute to look. Instead of him coming back to check on us we had to wave him down and let me remind you they were only four other people inside the bar this time at night. They brought our happy hour order in pieces the potato skins were burnt the chicken strips were so dark I should’ve took a picture not even think about taking a picture because you had to break them open just to eat the chicken inside that’s how nasty they were. The tater tot taste like they didn’t even have salt on them. One good thing I can say is that I will never go back to this place again

Good place to catch the game. If you get a booth seat you’ll have your own tv to the side. :)

I came here to meet up with some friends and family to watch a Blazers game and enjoy some fatty wings. While the wings were absolutely awesome, I honestly could not say the same for the service. Our friend arrived about 20 minutes before us to hold down a table in the middle of the room and not one server came during that time to ask if she wanted a drink. We were there for the whole basketball game and were only served one round of beers, our waitress walking by tens of times without checking our status. When we stopped waiting around and went up to the bar to order drinks the bartender was a little rude. The night was a little busy and our server was a little new, so I will give them that. But I’m just writing an honest review about my experience. Again, Mondays = wing night… and they are HUGE and the sauce choices are delicious. Be warned… your wings will show up swimming in a pool of sauce, so you might want to consider ordering it on the side. It’s your average pub with average service. Honestly I’ll probably come back even though the service was nothing to holler about. It’s just one of those places you have to come into expecting that.

I’m glad I waited to write this review as looking back I feel I may have been too harsh if wrote directly afterwards. Its a local bar, first and foremost. They also have food as a side note. My drink was contained a generous amount of bourbon and was served quickly by the bartender. We both got burgers. I had the one with blue cheese and bacon and DA gooch got some ridiculous 3patty burger. The side salad was a side salad but good dressing. The buns were yummy, diner cooked/toasted. The burger, slightly too salty but tasty. Gooch said his fries were good. The cool part besides being a delicious burger was it didn’t fall out of the bun or misproportioned. The service suckeddddd, no refills, no ketchup for fries, ordered a drink for my dude and it never came. She was asking the bartender about it 20 mins later. White Russian with baileys… not hard. I canceled it as I was at the bar refiling our waters as we were finished. The bartender brought me the box for leftover burger and our check. Maybe the young waitress got pissed for me canceling the drink, who knows.

Nothing fancy here, just a big, local divey sports bar. Many beers on tap, many televisions and crazy(!) food specials. On Tuesdays, it’s taco and nacho buffet night and the $ 4 I spent filled me up on nacho cheese and ground beef nacho/taco plates. Not something I’d eat on the regular but godamn was it tasty. I was like a kid in a candy shop. Being the chicken strip/tender junkie that I am, on Sunday nights, they have $ 10 all you can eat tenders… I haven’t enjoyed yet but godammit, you bet I will. I will starve myself in preparation to destroy their tenders.

I just moved to Portland and was looking for a place to watch the Cowboys game and found this bar on Unilocal. The bar isn’t much to look at from the outside but surprises once you walk in. It has the look of a dive bar but it is very clean and you can tell that the people working there care about their customers. The waitress that was working seemed a little pissed off, but it did look like she was fighting a cold. They have multiple TVs including one in each booth with your own remote control. The food was not bad. I ordered the turkey bacon melt and was expecting a hot sandwich but received a regular turkey bacon sandwich. It was still really good. I also ordered potato skins as an appetizer. They weren’t so good. They were really rubbery and couldn’t finish them all. Four stars for great service.

The service at Mcgillicuddy’s is just like the summer weather in PDX. Sometimes its great, sometimes it takes a shit. What makes Mcgillicuddy’s stand out for me is their daily specials. They have awesome specials for cheap every day, and the food is really, really good compared to other bar food places. My favorite is the 33 cent wings or the fish and chips, but the other specials are delicious as well. Its basically a Colombian coin flip on whether you are gonna get decent service or not. Game nights or occupancy really doesnt seem to matter either. We have gotten an order of 35 wings in less than 5 minutes from when we sat down. I have also sat there for 45 minutes and never had the waitress even bring me my drink order. It seems about 40% of the time, you are going to get an egregious wait time when no one is in the building. I am 100% sure this is because of the waitresses. Some are off talking on the phone, having a smoke break, while others will go above and beyond to make it a great experience. The bartenders and either manager/owner(not sure) are great. Always friendly and genuinely care about your experience. There are tv’s in every booth which is nice because half the time I dont care who is playing and would rather watch the free UFC’s or niche sports. Overall, I would say for a sports bar with dining options, Mcgillicuddy’s is hands down the best in Portland as far as value and quality. If they get the service off nights eliminated they would really be helping themselves.
