Went here with pals after an exhausting training session. It was earlyish on a Saturday night and the place was packed. I stood around with my «I am entitiled to a booth for me and friends because we are tired and special and need a drink stat!» pouty look. There were at least 3 servers or more for their smallish room. All 3 stopped to check on me, and give me tips on which booth was going to open up first, handed me menus and asked if I wanted a drink order. Top notch service! The wait wasn’t that long. And the servers didnt’ disappear once we 3 were seated. In fact it took us several sessions of drinks, appetizers, then entrees, then refills — we kept those poor folks running! The drinks were excellent — not too strong, not too sweet. The food was very good too. I am a sucker for the fry bread. I had the smoked trout salad — like a nicoise but with trout of course. It was good, but could have used more dressing. and it was like a HAYSTACK of greens — yum! Thanks Over and Out for the awesome service and food!

This is a great find for those of us stuck out in the burbs of Happy Valley and clackamas! It feels very Portland but it’s not that far away. It’s a great space, open and lots of tables and there is pinball and pool but I would not call it a dive bar at all. It was a Saturday night so the place was hopping. The menu had good variety and we tried the cheese plate which was huge, and the trout salad for me and chicken fried chicken for the husband. We liked everything pretty well but overall I just loved the vibe and felt almost like we ventured downtown pdx or Hawthorne or something. Thumbs up!

Absolutely loved it the first time! But that was almost a year ago. Sat down, not that busy and 2 people working, it was 10 minutes before someone came to my table. I’ve been busier than thus at work by myself!!! I would most likely get into a lot of trouble from my boss if I made a table wait that long with no acknowledgement!

Great food! It’s consistently good! Generally friendly staff, although there is one male bartender who seems a bit grouchy. We have a great time every time we go. My favorite place!

I hate the name of this place but for late night food it doesn’t get much better. Nice cocktails a little on the weak side but that’s sometimes what I’m going for. Get the cheese platter or lamb burger. Fry breads always good. I miss the pinball machines but whatevs

Lamb burger with local goat cheese like whoa. Homemade triple ginger beer. Outdoor seating with candles at night. It’s a dope spot with a talented chef

Is it Oberservatory? If I was feeling really astute I would go back and change my Observatory review… but maybe I won’t. I had always been meaning to come back to Observatory because my food experience there was less than spectacular. One Friday evening my friend and I came to check this place out. I was surprised how easily we found a table at this hour considering how hard it was to find somewhere to park. It might have to do with how hard the place was to find. It is literally in the back of the building where observatory is. Like back by the McDonalds parking lot. Perhaps that’s why it wasn’t so crowded and perhaps it added a certain Je né sais quoi. I was instructed that Observatory had good burgers. Since these two have the same menu basically I went for the lamb burger. It is paired with a ton of goat cheese and roasted peppers. Very simple, but very good. It almost didn’t taste like lamb it was so mild, pairing with the goat cheese was money. My friend got the Asian chicken salad and raved about it. So much so that I didn’t even get a bite. The drink list is very creative and the drinks were, as I would describe, Mighty! There are so many good places in this area, but I wouldn’t hesitate to come back here for a burger. Very friendly and helpful server too.

Over And Out is a total date bar. My wife and I come here to catch big sports games and eat seafood, pâté, kale salad and stuff. They have great food, great drinks, great service, great happy hour, and a decent tap list. Bonuses: the bathrooms have chalkboards and the bartender dude with the locks wears cool shirts. The only not-so-awesome thing about Over And Out is the layout. To watch sports we either sit at the bar or at one of the tables right underneath a TV. The tables in the middle are too far from the TVs to see the action. So if it’s crowded we keep walking to Roscoe’s or Beer Bunker(because Biddy McGraw’s is too far). Note: if you’re in the market for an unregistered firearm or just some good old crack, look no further than the parking lot right outside of Over And Out! The shady rear-end of the lot has to be the sketchiest spot in Montavilla.

My husband and I went to Over And Out for a drink while we were waiting for our table at The Observatory. I had a glass of wine(their house red wine is very good for a «house red wine» if you know what I mean), and he ordered a beer. They offer an impressive drink menu, and I would want to try one of their cocktails next time! The atmosphere is dark with bar seating and various booths. They have a few TVs, so if you’re game is on, you might be in luck! I don’t know that I would go out of my way to have drinks at Over And Out, but it is a good place to check out while your waiting to have dinner.

I can’t believe I have yet to write a review on this wonderful place. I love it here! Hidden right behind The Observatory, this bar/restaurant is easily one of my top fav. local establishments. Much praise to the waiting staff who are always attentive, always friendly, and never fail to serve tasty bites and drinks that are straight fire(strong, yet oh so delicious)! The vibe here is comfortable, and is a great place to chill out and catch a game or two without the big-loud bar environment. Over & Out is equipped with 2 pool tables, a few pinball machines, and a fully stocked bar with ready to order tasty drinks(my personal favorite is the Manhattan). Even the bathrooms are pretty cool! Seriously, check out the bathrooms for a good giggle. I can’t say enough great things about this place. My stomach & I are big fans!

Yes! Food from observatory. Drinks that are tasty and strong. Pool tables to entertain. A few pinball machines to play during that long pause in a conversation. A few TVs to catch the game of the evening. These are the reasons I go. The inside is fairly small and can feel even smaller when people wait here for their tables down the hall. There are only about 11 tables and then the bar area to sit at so don’t bring all your friends. It is connected to observatory but there is also a door in the back to enter. If I can find parking then this is the spot, I don’t trust parking in the McDonald’s lot.

Originally me and my girlfriend decided to go to Observatory for their charcuterie board around 830 but the waitlist was insane. We decided to head over to Over and Out which adjoins Observatory and scoped out some bar seats which only took about 10 minutes. Great decision on our part because the wait on the other side would have been about 45 min to an hour. These two places share the same kitchen so the menus are basically the same which is great. We were able to get our charcuterie board and the elk burger which were both delicious. You can also get signature cocktails you would at Observatory and they have daily drink specials. It was Friday so I had the Dickle and Pickle for $ 4! What a deal! A healthy glass of Dickle whiskey and a shot of their house pickle juice to cleanse the palate.

I have been here twice. Staff was lame one eve… Next time was fine. No great shakes except for the food which is delightful… It’s an after-workey atmosphere with casual attitudes and service… I thought both sides had the same menu, but no… They are slightly different, with the main difference seemingly being the wine selections. And entrees. One CAN take themselves over to the Bar next door and get what they want. I was explained that«they want to keep it separate» OK. This seemed to come from the«Because I said so» camp and somehow irritated me. Maybe I’m a grumpy middle aged white lady, but I’m dumping some cabbage for service AND fare… The mussels and Lamb Burger were fantastic. The fries, crispy potatoey goodness. Honestly, there was nothing compelling to bring me back. With places like the Multnomah Whiskey Library, The Rookery, Pepe Le Moko, and so many more, WHY would I settle? I think I’ll take a pass until someone can convince me to return…

Great cocktails and menu with a few similarities to the restaurant it’s attached to, The Observatory. The Oregano Fry Bread, available either O & O or The Observatory, is a must try. Old school pinball machines will keep you entertained if the sports feed on the TV’s doesn’t! Great service too!

We originally went to The Observatory for their awesome happy hour, but the hostess suggested that we go to Over And Out instead since they were currently full. They pretty much have the exact happy hour menu and very similar dinner/drinks menu. The atmosphere is definitely more laid back than the Observatory though. We had their delicious veggie burger and happy hour mussels and Caesar salad. I think if we’re in the mood for their happy hour again, that we’ll consider going to Over and Out instead since it’s the same food and probably not as crowded.
