Had the best time! The staff was friendly tons of songs danced all night. Everyone should check this place out ! Its by far the best place to karoake that has opened in awhile!

Ummm, they’ve been closed for over a year, I believe. I confirmed this the other day when I stopped at the Powell St. Station shopping center at 82nd& Powell to find that many stores have shutdown, including Food 4 Less. The Hollywood video closed years ago, replaced now by a huge pawnshop resplendent with red white and blue neon signage. Très depressing.

This place is CLOSED. I foolishly drove here after seeing it on Unilocal and was sad to see it had been closed down. However, the dang SIGN is still up. Save your time!

This is not your typical Portland Hipster bar and that is why it is so appealing. I noticed it once when I was using my favorite ATM. My first thought was, «What the heck is that place, this is a strip mall.» A few days later a friend suggested we go check it out. She was really excited to show me cause she had just been there the night before. We walked in and it was like stepping out of a time machine and into 1986 Aqua Net Rocker Land. This place is awesome! They play metal, punk rock, and rock n roll videos on the big screens all over the place. I was a tad hungry so I ordered the nachos. I fell in love, they use liquid cheese! That is not something you typically find on a menu. The owners Shane Kim and his wife June are some of the greatest hosts in town. I have been back several times and have taken all walks of life in with me. Every friend has thanked me for showing them the place and have proclaimed their undying love. I don’t think I can do this place justice with words, you just have to go see it for yourself.

This place was pretty sweet. I was not expecting such a cool karaōke bar to reside in a strip mall, but it works. It was nice to see they had quite a few cheap cocktails, beers and shot specials. We didn’t get any food so can’t comment there. Overall the vibe was inviting and I even got up all by myself and sang, normally I only make myself available for duets and backup singing/dancing. There were some really great performers and some not so great ones(including me). Pro: Fun, inviting Cheap drinks Cool videos Not a long wait to get your sing on Very nice staff Eclectic patrons(biker dude, lady with a facial tattoo, OBP staff, generic office workers) Con: Ladies bathroom malfunction Song books are a little confusing, not 100% alphabetical by artist No live drumming — I think he recently quit :(

Wandered into this bar and was blown away! I was enticed by the Rock/Punk/80s hair band décor everywhere and the modern and clean look of the establishment. I enjoyed some inexpensive and delicious potstickers and corndogs(what else is better at 1am). The bartender was a sweetheart and my well drink was tall, stiff, and only 3 bucks. Come to find out there is karaōke pretty much every night, and the overall edgy vibe of the lineup hit the spot. I enjoyed singing some Janis Joplin and Lita Ford and was well received by the fun crowd. If I go missing, you very well might find me living here, thanks!

After I stuffed my face with Vietnamese food next door. I walked to Rock Side of the Moon, Jimi Hendrix’s Purple Haze was on, he dragged me inside with his guitar! I don’t mess with Jimi & you shouldn’t too. What a great way to welcome someone! lol From the exterior of this place, you wouldn’t know that it’s such a cool place inside. I can’t deny that I love the 80s & its music. Shane & his wife(wonderful owners), they treat their staff nicely so it shows in their work! Everyone seems happy to be there, working hard but enjoying their jobs. Although, I don’t sing(karaōke), I enjoy listening to everyone on the stage(good or bad singers), quite entertaining, I say(good or bad singers). hahahaha Please give yourself a chance to enjoy life. Check out Rock Side of the Moon.

Wanna reminisce over the bad hair days from the 80’s? Here’s where you can sing your left lung out to Metallica, Van Halen, Pink, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, and the Beatles(just to name a few). Other song requests are easily downloadable. What a great selection of music with live drum accompaniment to make you feel awesome on stage! In time, this place will have a live band on stage with the singers to put Dante’s to shame for their«Karaōke from Hell.» Plus, Rock Side of the Moon opens earlier, has private VIP rooms, great drink specials, and fun people to hang out with! Go blow off some steam after work with buddies. Lose an ear drum or two from the amazing sound system. It’s a fabulous new«hang out» for all ages!

Went here for the Karaōke, this place is set up like no other! Fantastic looking inside, plenty of space for you and all of your friends. The drink prices are cheap, the sound system is great. Nice light show and effects, there’s a live drummer that plays with you as well(and is not in any way getting in the way of the music)! I brought in about 25 people or so last weekend and everyone had a blast. The only thing that would make this the ultimate karaōke spot is a bit of a wider selection of tunes. several people were wishing that their favorites were in the book. In between songs, the KJ will lower a screen and play some classic rock videos over the system. Inflatable instruments galore and 2 private rooms you can rent as well for Karaōke parties, however the books back there appear to be all Korean music? not sure. try it out!
