Great sushi. Would’ve never guessed that food cart sushi could be good, but it definitely was appetizing. Thanks to Unilocal reviews, my boyfriend and I tried it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Like everyone else, we loved the crunchy roll. We also got 2 other rolls and enjoyed all of them. Had a lot of leftovers but would not advise getting more than you can eat in one sitting — the rice turns hard and dried out the next day.

They used mayo to substitute fish in the spicy scallop roll and covered the cheap fish with hot sauce. Plus, over dosed the miso soup with fish sauce to cover a lack of flavor.

Best sushi cart! I always get these hand rolls: eel avocado, cali, spicy tuna. You will have to wait because they make them fresh and they are so worth the wait. The prices are adjusted as you order more hand rolls too. So I always buy 3. They will give you a blue pager when you order and it buzzes and lights up when your order is ready. So you can wander off to other carts with friends while your order is being made.

For the price, some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The crunchy roll and seaweed salad were some of our favorites. We did have to wait a long time(20−25min.) but it was well worth it and the friendly staff was nice enough to include complimentary edemame for waiting. I will definitely be back at Sushi PDX in the near future.

I have never felt this compelled to leave a review on Unilocal! These guys make the best sushi in Portland — it is super fresh, yummy and affordable. Their hand rolls are just perfect! I love how easy it is to just stop by, eat some amazing sushi and leave in less than 30mins — happy and full. Highly recommended!

I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi from this food cart — wow! I am pretty particular about the sushi I eat — I like my sushi simple(I don’t like a lot of sauces) so that I can taste the flavors, and the salmon sushi was just what I had been looking for. It tasted fresh and was delicious! I will be making this place a regular stop each week!

This is some of the freshest, most affordable sushi available in Portland. I only have two criticisms: 1. The menu is too limited! There are maybe a dozen items you can order here and I wish they would use their expertise to venture out and make some more creative additions to the menu. 2. The sushi is so fresh, you must eat it within 45 minutes of receiving the food. Otherwise you will be missing out of the full flavor experience. That said, they do what they do and they do it well and for that they should be commended. I come here at least twice a week and their food and customer service are always top notch.

My favorite sushi in Portland. Disclaimer: if you are a fan of sweet, saucy, deep fried Asian fusion ‘sushi’ this may not be the place for you. The fish is always fresh and vibrant, and they don’t skimp. I recommend getting a couple of hand rolls, especially the spicy tuna and scallop — they’re delicious and so reasonably priced… 3 for $ 8? You really can’t beat it. Keep in mind that this is not fast food. My average wait time is around 10 – 15 minutes, but it’s nothing to get bent out of shape over. Any other sit down establishment takes about the same, and I’ve never been disappointed here.

I consider myself a sushi snob — I’ve grown up on the stuff and therefore know what I like. Most important — quality of the fish. Sushi PDX has excellent fish quality. I wasn’t expecting this from a food truck but I was pleasantly surprised. Another important factor is the fish: rice ratio. Often sushi has way too much rice and not enough fish. Though there might be a little bit too much rice for me, it’s okay because they aren’t stingy with the fish and fillings. Also, the quality of the rice is quite good — not mushy, and the right amount of vinegar and sweetness. This is probably the best sushi I’ve had in Portland! I ordered a simple salmon an avocado roll and a miso soup. I always go for the simple rolls because, if made correctly, they are often the best.

This is the BESTSUSHI decision you will make in Portland. The price is incredible, the fish is incredible, the service is always good, and the food will MAKEYOUFEELGOOD. It is my FAVORITE sushi place to go to. If you’re looking for cooked Japanese, this is not the place. But their crunchy rolls and spicy tuna rolls make me super happy.

Sushi PDX is among many Belmont Food Truck peers. After I ordered, they gave me a pager during the wait for my food. Once the sushi arrived, it was wonderful. I had several rolls such as the California Roll, Cruncy Roll and the Soft Shell Crab Roll. They all were well-crafted and flavorful. The texture was also wonderful. This place provides the kind of sushi you can be proud of in a culinary way. I hope the place keeps on rolling the delicious sushi rolls as they have. Sushi PDX can be ultimately known for good and cheap sushi.

Good, cheap, fast handrolls. My place of choice for delicious hand rolls. The scallop as well as the spicy tuna hand rolls have always tasted fresh to me. It’s definitely an unconventional way of eating sushi, but who cares? I love that they give you a beeper for when it is ready. You are not limited to just eating sushi because it’s located among other tasty carts. The thing with sushi is in never fills me up, so I always have room for more foods from the other surrounding carts. I would like to be daring one day to try their rolls. Bonus: you get a better deal of ordering more hand rolls.

YUM! Skip the grocery store sushi and come get your rolls here! Perfect for those quick cravings and really tasty rolls! Yes, it’s not a sit down like Bamboo sushi, but you’re probably searching reviews for reasonable sushi anyways! The salmon was fresh and delicious. The DST was the perfect mix of spicy and crunchy. And the Oshinko that was way better than I would have ever expected. With the price of under $ 20 and ready for us to go in about 15 minutes, this place is definitely going to become a regular cart for us!

This is the best deal on sushi in PDX. My wife and I were scouring Unilocal, google, and even Bing(we were desperate) for good sushi that wouldn’t break the bank! Upon seeing the reviews for Sushi PDX we decided to give it a try, especially because it was right down the road. The service was sweet and short, not to much work, but definitely not curt! Prices were excellent! We ordered a California Roll($ 4.5), the DST($ 6.5), and the Crunchy roll($ 6). All of the rolls were made to order, so we were pointed to large white tent, which so happened to be nice and toasty! The rolls were up in about 8 min! The crunchy roll was by far our favorite I would give it a 8⁄10 as far as crunchy rolls go the other two rolls were also very delicious 7⁄10! And I have to get going home now because I have been ignoring my wife while writing this! Definitely defiantly will be back and I recommend you try this GEM!!!

My stomach craved sushi. Must listen to stomach. It basically told me: «You will visit Toshi’s cart…» After all, he’s been a sushi chef for 20-some years. OK…let’s look at the menu. DST roll? Huh? That doesn’t stand for Daylight Savings Time, right? Actually, it’s a take on the ingredients in this inside-out sushi roll(rice and sesame seeds on the outside). A «double ST, meaning spicy tuna and shrimp tempura, with some crab salad in there as well.» Six bucks. Toshi had me at spicy tuna. What the… do these cart owners inherently know what I like? I don’t think I have the words«I love spicy tuna» tattooed on my forehead, right? Toshi showcased his sushi mastery, effortlessly frying the battered shrimp, adding the other fresh ingredients, and rolling it all up. «Oh come on! That’s art on a plate! I’ll feel so bad eating this!» (Stomach growls) «Oops. Sorry, sushi. Next stop, my belly!» (Puts«CENSORED!!!» sign up as sushi«screams» can be heard) The sushi is satisfying, pleasing, gratifying, with a bit of happy panda dance thrown in. I’ve seen sushi joints pack the rice on the roll like some impenetrable starchy barrier. Not here. The ratio of protein balances with the perfectly cooked rice. Add wasabi to the sushi for some sinus-clearing action. No no, I mean straight wasabi, not the brown concoction you get when diluting that Japanese horseradish in shoyu. If you like bitter, the accompanying side of pickled ginger is your friend. Toshi even gave me some green tea(on the house) while enjoying my sushi massacre. Such a cool dude; he didn’t have to do it. I woulda driven from Salem anyway just to go food cart hopping. Green tea’s one heck of a calming beverage. See, some people need a cigarette after a heart-racing, eye-popping encounter. I’ll take the green tea instead, thanks. Toshi told me his Crunchy Roll is also popular, with bits of fried tempura batter sprinkled on the outside. For the cold, rainy days, his udon noodle soups are the ideal antidote. Check Sushi PDX out… let him know Aaron sent you down!
