I’ve been going here to see Desire since I moved to the area. I’ve gotten a manicure with nail art two times and both times have been great. I got so many compliments on them. You can book online via Style Seat which makes it easy to get an appt anytime you want.
I’m up next to get my eye brows done by her as I’m in need of some maintenance.
They women here are super friendly and awesome to be around. They will make you laugh while you’re getting your beauty service done and do a banging job.
I went on a Sunday to see Sara G becausey nails were looking terrible and needed some serious help and she did an awesome job! My nails are on fleek now! Keep up the fabulous work ladies.

Desire is an awesome esthetician! She makes my monthly appointments fun and I always feel beautiful and pampered afterwards. The salon is in a great location; very pretty and clean. I also appreciate the ease of online scheduling. Highly recommended!

Jessica Joachims is a true artist! Chill relaxed atmosphere in the heart of the Alberta Arts District. She’s amazing with thick ethnic hair. I highly recommend Jessica she will make your hair dreams come true!

Jessica Joachims was my stylist who got me in at the last minute for a color right before my big trip. She did an amazing job and we talked nonstop; she’s just so chill and easy to talk to that you feel comfortable spilling her all your thoughts. I would highly recommend her for hair and makeup– yes, she’s an amazing makeup artist, too!

This review is for Sara aka biggirlnails on instagram. I was looking for a nail artist in the area, and came across her through social media. She is the absolute sweetest ever. I am so happy I have found her. She is new to the industry, so be patient with her and let her work her magic. Her conversation skills are great, and her stories are funny. I wanted to change the first full acrylic set she gave me, and she kindly squeezed me in tonight and fixed me right up. My nails look fab. I will definitely return.

I dropped in on a whim to get a pedicure. I had been going to a place on Broadway where friendly Vietnamese ladies quickly got the job done, but sometimes too quickly (chopped cuticles, etc) and the conversations were often awkward and unprofessional (why you no have children?). Desire gave me a pedicure that made me realize that for about $ 5 more than I had been paying I could have a much better, much more carefully performed pedicure done in a much more relaxing environment (the glass of wine didn’t hurt either). My feet looked smooth, polished and great and the results lasted longer than I was used to. Desire is a pleasure to be around and has a gentle hand and an eye for detail. I definitely recommend her and the salon.

I got a weave that was so bad that I had to have it removed immediately. I highly recommend NOT going here. Unless you want to pay a fortune for the worst weave in existence

Jessica has done my hair for a long time, and I adore her so much that I followed her over to NE when she moved! She’s great with curls, amazing with color, and she’ll stop you if you’re about to do something silly.
I really love Tastemakers Salon as a whole, though. Everyone is super friendly and professional. Definitely worth a look to the uninitiated.
