Well, as it turns out, maybe enough people also had my experience above because the place is shut down now. I don’t know if their other locations are still open or not but this one imploded.

I’m looking for BAGELS and went to the Three Lions website but couldn’t find one word about bagels. I know they’re a bakery but no bagles were listed anywhere in the menus so guess they need to update their site??? or maybe they shouldn’t have been returned in my Unilocal search as the #1 place to go downtown for bagels. I don’t want to have to go there to see if they do have them because that’s the whole point of looking online for something, right? Very frustrating! I’ll contact them about it but geez, just really wanted a good bagel!

I have tried this place 4 times and each time it has gotten worse. The are really close to the office & the only other close place is Star-yucks so I’ve gone here. Here are the issues: all the guys are stoned — or really really don’t care -, the beans are burnt, only had one baked good and that was more than enough YUCK, takes way way too long to get anything, and they aren’t even nice about their suckiness Almost bad enough to make me wanna go to star-yucks ALMOST — instead I pack a tea bag and skip the coffee

Rule #1 for my mornings: Coffee. Rule #2 for my mornings: Need Wi-Fi, laptop and Shhhhh. Rule #3 for my mornings: Don’t confuse me by anything confusing. Three Lions completed Rules #1 and #2(sort of). Need to work on #3. I had a laptop. They had Wi-Fi, but only intermittently(some sort of issue with their Wi-Fi router that the baristas were not about to try to figure out by themselves.) So, it was sort of like: Rule #2 fulfilled! Rule #2 not fulfilled! Rule #2 Yes! Rule #2 No! Thereby, Rule #3 kicked in and I was confused and not happy. Luckily Rule #1 was provided in spades so I was happy again.

If Three Lions was a high school teen, I doubt her parents would have a «My Daughter is an Honor Student» bumper sticker on the back of their Volvo. No, Three Lions is an underachieving slacker, and will probably be pumping your gas in twenty years. The big steel coffee cup still looms over the espresso stand, serving as a constant reminder of the(now defunct) Coffee People it was in a former life. The old Coffee People creamer/utensil built-ins are also still intact, which would be fine if Three Lions would take advantage of them. Instead, they only use a few of the sections creating the Old Mother Hubbard look. The stark space has harsh lighting and a cafeteria like atmosphere. I wish they would ditch the long rectangle tables and mix it up with an assortment of comfy furniture, or at least make some sort of attempt at creating a welcoming environment. Overall, the baked goods and pastries are decent. The biggest disappointment is the bagels which are more roll than bagel. I do like that Three Lions makes an extra effort with the breakfast sandwiches by using fresh fried eggs instead of microwaving them(like most everywhere else downtown). Will I go back? Sure. I guess. Underachievers occasionally make good company. Maybe I’ll give three lions a call and see if she wants to get baked, eat Cheetos, and play video games this afternoon. Dooooood.

Okay, great idea… awesome menu. It was 11:30am, and I was excited about the Ham and brie sandwich I ordered. Then, after sitting down, I was informed that they were out of brie. So, how are you out of brie before the lunch hour? Service was ehh, and the sandwich I ended up with was underwhelming. Got two stars for having innovative flavors.

This was my first trip to Portland, OR. I love this city! While wandering aimlessly around Downtown I came upon this bakery. It was more than just a bakery… this place had great sandwiches and salads. They have different choices of daily drip coffee. Organic for the health nuts and straight coffee for those who don’t care. I had the Veg Hero Sandwich on Italian Focaccia with Hungarian mushroom soup. It was wonderful. They are great because they cater to both health nuts and non-health nuts. They have six different locations all in Oregon. This place is a definitely a must try.
