This was a pleasant find on the way to my rented apartment. Mary was tending bar and had the salsa music going. Large choice of tacos and the ones I had were excellent.

The tacos and beer are great, but in the 15 minutes that I ate there, my entire bike got stripped. Don’t eat here unless you want to expose yourself to theft, loss and danger.

The food is great but the service is always horrible. The guy working at the front desk is both rude and has no sense of urgency.

Great place for quick tacos at a good price(especially during a blazers/timbers game… where a few types of the tacos are only a dollar each– pollo, carnitas, nopal, and hongo). Not originally knowing that they had specials on tacos, my friends and I ordered like the taco platter special. .12 tacos for $ 22(2 of the following. .pastor, surtido, carnitas, pollo, chorizo, barabocoa). We also ordered a few lengua tacos as well. All the tacos came out pretty fast and were pretty tasty. Good place to catch the game and eat some tacos.

I’ve tried to give this place a chance, but after 3 visits and increasingly terrible service each time, I will not be going back. The tacos are pretty good, the actual bar is laid out well and there are plenty of TVs, but the bartender(we’ve had the same gal each time, short hair with a permanently sour look on her face) treats us like garbage, answers our questions with snappy, rude retorts and generally brings down the mood of anyone interacting with her.

Our go to spot before Timbers games. Always crowded and gets you in the mood for a game. They have a few vegetarian tacos, two of which are vegan. The mushroom and the cactus. Both are good enough for the $ 2.50 each. I like the cactus more. Beers and cocktails are average priced, so nothing crazy expensive, but not a steal either. Compared to the crap in the stadium though, it’s perfectly fine for me.

From what I remember I had onion tacos which were really good. They weren’t incredibly expensive. They tasted really good too.

If you’re looking for a good vegetarian taco, keep looking. One was blander than the next.

Great salsas, would be 4 stars but the tacos were a bit greasy! Will be back for the Blazers gametime and happy hour specials!

I’ve been here three or four times now and I have to say that although I try to like this place, the mushroom tacos leave a lot to be desired.

Disgusting. The food is not the worst but it’s pretty close. Tortilla chips are possibly the worst ever made. Service is awful. Apparently, the bartender/server’s main job is sidework. She might speak to you and even help you out if you jump up and down waving your arms.

I was recently informed by a pretentious asshole, via an attempt at a disparaging«Compliment» that my infantile palette needs to grow up and appreciate, «the culinary traditions of an ancient culture» the abomination that most call the onion. My dear douchebag, my ancient and cultured palette will survive just fine without any big, stinking onions touching it. In my last review I lamented the total lack of customer service, which if you are a business owner in Portland, OR(United States to the uninformed), is something you should actually care about. Mucho times I have patronized this place. Mucho times I have been turned away because they can’t be bothered to accommodate the fact that I don’t want onion in my $ 4.00 tacos. In my prior review, I mentioned that the owner, when there, never gave me any backtalk. The employees, now, that’s a different story. I will stick to my guns here and just say that a reasonable request by a customer should not require an appeal to the Supreme Court. So, because of my inability to get what I want at Uno Más, I frequent mucho other Mexican joints that have no problem; i.e., no backtalk and give me exactly what I want. No onion is not a complicated or unreasonable request. I do concede to the douchebag that I did make an error in my last review: I gave you two stars. Oops! Keyboard error. One star; for real. 2015 — Review # 75

I love this place. After I had surgery and couldn’t walk or ride my bike, I started ordering from Uno Mas on pretty regularly. Caviar’s delivery service is awesome and Uno Mas has good variety of things so I can order a couple days of meals. Steamed tacos — These are my favorite item. I’ve tried the black bean, Mexican cheese and potato tacos and they are all delicious. Great vegetarian choices with protein. I’m sure the chicken ones are good too. They coated in some sort of red chile sauce. Served with pickled/marinated onions and carrots, cilantro, radishes and jalapeño. Spinach salad — This must be pretty healthy, because from what I can tell, its ingredients are just spinach, lime juice, cilantro, avocado, red onion and radishes. It’s a simple salad, but it’s really good — it has a little spicy kick to it. I usually don’t love salad since it doesn’t taste like a real meal, but this is filling and the combination of leafy greens, avocado and onion seems refreshing and healthy to me. Tacos — I wish they offered a traditional taco that was filled with beans, cheese or avocado or some sort of vegetarian protein. I tried the cactus and it’s not bad — the cactus itself is a little like green beans. Chips with guacamole, salsa, pico de gallo or black beans — The guacamole is a little watered down or thinned with something, so definitely not as good as, say, Chipotle. But it’s decent enough. The pico de gallo is pretty good. I wasn’t that much of a fan of the salsa — it’s a thinner salsa, and I prefer a chunky pico de gallo type salsa. I like the black beans side — it has a consistency a bit like refried beans and it tastes good, although it’s pretty basic. My only complaints are: The steamed tacos, at least on Caviar’s website, are only available during lunchtime. You can’t order them for dinner and lunch ends at 1:30 pm, for some weird reason. So, it’s a limited window for the steamed tacos. They don’t answer their damn phone, so if you want to call in an order to pick up, you can’t. They don’t have any online ordering for pick-up.

I thought it was great for what it is. It’s a taqueria, with a huge variety. And cocktails. What more could anyone want. I’m a bit confused by reviewers zinging them for things like not having sangria(which isn’t even Mexican), or having a limited menu(this place has more tacos than any place I’ve ever been, including Mexico). Mexican food is funny that way. People get used to something and get confused about authenticity. I’m convinced there are people who would complain if mac and cheese wasn’t orange. They have all the traditional Mexican tacos, plus a few innovative ones. I’m admittedly a bit of a taco snob, and I think these were fresh, had lots of flavor, and had great salsas and accompaniments. I had chicken con achiote, and shrimp diabolo. Tortillas were fresh(a little thicker than usual but easier to pick up), meats were done perfectly, and the salsas were right on. I loved the aguacate(avocado) and also the arbol/tomatillo. Price was also good for where it is — busy area. I want to come back and try the steamed tacos.

I really enjoyed this place. My boyfriend and I got a variety of tacos, all super delicious. I really loved the octopus taco. They have lots of options, including vegetarian(which are much more creative than just refried beans on a soft shell…) I also had an AMAZING cucumber margarita. I could have had 12 more of them they were so good and so refreshing. Food came out fast and was yummy, service was good, music was great as well. I would come here again for sure!

I have eaten at both locations of Uno Mas and these are some of the most delicious tacos around. I’ve eaten tacos from deep Gresham all the way to the Yucatan and points in between(including El D.F.) and Oswaldo Bibiano(also of the restaurant Autentica) is knocking it out of the park! I’ve had nearly every taco on the menu and every single one jumped off the plate — seriously, there wasn’t a dud at either location. The pastor is what I got used to in Mexico and have been unable to find anywhere in Portland. It’s strongly marinated, grilled with perfect little bits of pineapple. The octopus tacos were tender(not an easy feat) and delicious. I’ve gotten blood sausage, fish, shrimp, chicken, beef, and they were all great. The salsas have excellent depth, heat and balance(and variety!). This is hands down my go-to for tacos now if I’m in close-in NE or downtown, highly recommended!

After a major allergy attack last night, I decided to drag my husband out of Providence Park and hang out in here to watch the rest of the Timbers game. Not exactly the best place to watch the game, but it was a good alternative(and totally worth it since we won)! The staff were friendly– but the place was packed. Be prepared to wait a bit if there’s an event going on nearby– especially a Timbers game. We ordered some nachos with carnitas and watched the rest of the match, sneeze-free. The food was decent, a little spicy– but I’m a major wimp. Huge fan of the foosball tables too, its a fantastic touch. If I’m in the area, I will probably return!

Remember the old saying, «betcha just can’t eat one?» That’s no doubt true most of the time for Uno Mas Taquiza. I decided to prove the saying wrong by eating just one taco today, but then maybe that’s not fair. I will still a little full after a late breakfast. Had I not had a late breakfast, I certainly would have eaten more. Their tacos are small, and I had their rock fish taco(can’t remember the Mexican name) and it was bursting with flavor: lime and garlic and fresh chunks of rock fish(not a breaded patty plunked down in the middle of the tortilla). You get a choice of salsas, so I reached for the Aquacate(avocado, cilantro, and lime). Each choice is kept in a squeeze bottle in a tub full of ice, which I was really glad to see. Too often I see salsas left out at room temperature and that makes me a little nervous. The rest of the space was super clean, so definitely no concerns there. Many have commented on the odd shape of the space — true — and the odd sizing of the tables and chairs. My seating arrangement was comfortable enough. Where Uno Mas Taquiza falls down, and why their rating goes from a potential four down to two stars, is the service. Service is lackadaisical at best and not at all well thought out. I was first up at the bar and asked for handheld printed menu to peruse. Once I had that in hand, I was ignored(even after trying to get the attention of the young waitress at the bar) while young male customers were tended to with a big smile and lots of chit-chat. I guess my money isn’t as green as that of the young male customers, but the funny thing is other establishments take my money without a problem and render excellent service to me. When I ordered the one rock fish taco, the waitress said«is that all?» Guess that’s what I could have said to her about her service ethic in return. I will return here without a doubt for the rockfish taco(or myriad other taco choices) they do so well and dial my expectations for good service down low. Depending on my server and their behavior in the future, it’s probably a good idea for them to dial down their expectations for a tip.

In the plus column we have prices, location and variety. This place is cheap and has a decent amount to choose from. In the minus column we have the service(completely understaffed as in 1 person with a mostly full house), the spice of the guacamole(I couldn’t even enjoy it and there are no warnings that it is spicy) and the flavors. While the chicken taco was pretty good, the flavor was a little underwhelming. The cactus taco was good and flavorful and the fried cheese one was just like eating rubber but they add the spiciest concoction to mask the rubber flavor so you end up with burning rubber in your mouth. Not recommended. Overall if you like inexpensive spicy foods than this is the place for you.

Their sign outside says happy hour 3 – 6 or something like that and $ 1 Rainiers which is why we went in only to find out that’s only on game nights or something random. The tacos weren’t that great. They do have a good salsa bar. Everything else was«meh». Weird vibe too. Painted like a child’s daycare, sports bar, located in a strangely hip area. I am not in a hurry to return.

We tried this place for the first time and enjoyed the tacos! You have to order from the bar so I let him know right when we walked in that we have never been there before. He walked is through the menu and gave excellent recommendations.
