This place is a great go to for something local any time of the day. The staff is usually very friendly and knowledgeable. The menu has plenty to offer and the portions are generous. I like this place over the popular chain burger places and restaurants. I always leave satisfied. To anyone that hasn’t been yet, you should definitely give Hamburger Factory a try!!!

My co workers and I just had a horrible experience there. We took our co worker out for Father’s Day since he couldn’t be home with his kids but instead we all agreed we would have rather been stuck in our cubicles then at this place for an unnecessary hour and 15 minutes. We got our drinks right away but then once we placed our food order our server was never again to be found. We had to ask someone else to grab her and when she came back all she said was an exasperated«yes» and did not even acknowledge why we called her over, there’s only so many reasons to be called over she knew we had been sitting there awhile. We asked her to box up our stuff to go and she said no problem and walked away– no apology. 15 minutes later I finally got up because we decided let’s just pay for our sodas and leave, when I walked up I spoke to what I assume to be the less then qualified supervisor– no apology again and just gave me a time breakdown of how long we’d been waiting, how long it took to box things up blah blah. I honestly don’t give a sh*t. I was a server for ten years and the least you could do is apology, it’s called retention and this place obviously doesn’t care. Never again. My to go food was plain and nothing special. Spare yourself and go to In and Out up the street.

3.5. Despite the average reviews on Unilocal,I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It’s located in the Old Poway area near the railroad and where they host the farmer’s market on the weekends. Humble digs that remind this Los Angeles /Orange County native of Claim Jumpers or Knotts Berry Farm. There’s a random assortment of old décor with a conglomeration of dated chairs and tables to add to the charm. Pretty big restaurant if I recall properly. There really isn’t anything fancy about this place from top to bottom, but it was clean and acceptable for dining premises. We were seated quickly and ordered our burgers. Waitress was friendly and reminded me of someone working a diner counter. The food was solid and tasty: a good greasy grill burger with the toppings of your selection, fries and onion rings and a soda. Actually commend them on the onion rings which had real sweet onions. Prices are«restaurant burger» prices(about 10 bucks for an average burger). so it’s higher than your fast food joints. Not bad for the food. but a little on the higher side where you couldn’t eat here every day. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to visit this location, but if I were in the area and had a hankering for a burger, I would consider eating here again. It might be a fun place to eat after biking to the park and shopping at the markets. I recommend giving them a try. Definitely order the onion rings and come in with appropriate expectations.

One word: SLOW! Bring your patient hat! Came here for lunch as we have a few times before. it was an hour before we got our food. This isn’t the first time that’s happened. The people who work there were nice but the kitchen is slow. There’s lots of menu choices to choose from. The food was just okay. Nothing special to speak of. If your in a hurry your in trouble.

I have no idea what everyone else is eating but we just left here and if I could give no stars I would based on the food. Service was good, our poor server felt so bad for us. But it could of been better. Tater tots– 1– let them cook at the way, your frozen tots were still cold on the inside. 2– shake the grease off a little, they were so gross Cheese burger– FROZENPATTIES? Figured a place like this made their own patties. My husbands cheese was melted via a microwave, you can tell and when He asked they server shrugged. He sent the burger back it was gross and asked for his money back. For $ 12 come on people get your shit together Tri Tip salad– there is no way this was Tru tip! Is was so dry like beef jerky. With a beautiful local farmers market outside why the hell are you serving iceberg lettuce barely chopped with a. Few cucumbers and tomatoes like its a damn burger? For $ 12 are you shitting me? Dressing was gross. I just asked for the check and left. In and out in 20 minutes. Just don’t bother going here. I just paid $ 22 for ½ eaten tater tots, A coke, and an ice T. Wasn’t expecting anything amazing from this place but wow I can’t believe how bad it was.

I eat here regularly these days, and an update is due. Often we come here for breakfast and the food is consistent, reasonably priced and service is excellent. This review is for a post-hike lunch. Had a patty melt($ 10.29) with bacon added($ 3.49, bit spendy, but tasty as heck, and cooked perfectly) My friend had the Jr. Wrangler burger($ 8.09). We each had an iced tea($ 2.75). Will get right into it: Cleanliness/Ambiance-It’s very clean, the tables are spic-n-span, and the ambiance tends towards kitsch, which reflects the Poway feeling extremely well-4 stars Service-tends towards the excellent… always filling drinks, making sure everything is going well, bringing out food quickly, no complaints…5 stars Food-Best patty melt I have had in San Diego, bar none! Patty is a genuine ½ lb and juicy. Onions are truly caramelized. Fries were cooked perfectly. My friend said that if he had any complaints that is was the pickles were too salty. I thought they were tasty…5 stars. A word… our server told us someone complained on Unilocal that the beers were too big. The beer servings come in three sizes, it’s explained thoroughly if you order a beer. The smallest is 12 oz., next 16 and then 32 oz. If you order a 32 oz beer, make sure you are strong enough to pick it up, or ask for a straw. You will thank me later!

Went there for breakfast, waiters kept walking by and ignoring us despite us saying we’d like to order. After 15 minutes I went to the counter to grab someone to bring to our table so we could order. They never came to refill our water or coffee. By the time the food came to our table 30 minutes later it was cold, and some of the food wasn’t what we had ordered. Really disappointed, will definitely not be going back.

Came in today with the family. From the time we walked in it took 10+ minutes before someone even came up to seat us. Tina our waitress was distant and seemed to not want to be there! Food was horrible! Waited for a coffee refill for more than 15 minutes but by the time she came around all we wanted was our check! Even then it took forever to get our check! We ended up needing to get the check ourselves! NEVERAGAIN!!!

The place was recommended by our friends in Poway so we met there for a Saturday night dinner. It was obvious that the place is a breakfast place in the morning. It has the country/log house feel to it. I am not so into the country atmosphere so I was not so excited about the place. I had salmon salad. The salmon was good amount and cooked well. It was simple and tasted as it was supposed to. For the price, it was an OK deal. The best part of the dinner was the waiter who was attentive and professional. I don’t think I have any special reason to go back to this place but I can see why this place is popular among Poway locals as a family joint.

We love this place. We go here often for dinner. They have a nice glass of champagne that comes in a stemless glass and a large fishbowl of beer. We also will sometimes get the chicken strips as an appetizer and a house salad which comes with a bread stick. The patty melt and cheeseburger are dishes that we regularly get and everything has been great so far. We usually order an appetizer right when we get there if we’re starving. We’ve always been seated right away, food always comes out fast, and they’re always accommodating to our baby in a car seat. Love this place! Good vibes.

Cute hamburger place in Poway. It’s has a very family friendly vibe to it. The service was great and friendly. My daughter’s Mac and cheese meal was a little too cheesy. My husband’s chicken fried steak and mash potatoes was good. We enjoyed their fried mushrooms. The peach cobbler and ice cream dessert was ok. My complaint is that it is pricey for average food.

Let me start by saying I’m a mother of 4 so when we find a great restaurant we make it a point to come back! This being our 3rd visit here we were looking forward to a lunch out with the family. It was a busy Sunday and our waiter was making his rounds but no way on any level is this acceptable. I ordered my 18 month old these chicken nuggets. If I hadn’t cut them to cool them off and let her just go to town(which I normally would have) the outcome could have been beyond where I would want to let my mind wonder! I told the waiter to bring me mac and cheese instead because I wanted nothing to do with the chicken, who quickly ran off with the plate. Shocked he was I’ll say that but that’s all I’ll say because after that I got absolutely no recognition. It wasn’t comp’d those nuggets from my bill and the manager was too busy to speak with me. As a mother I’m beside myself. No apology nothing of concern from anyone there. I’m not sorry to say I’ll never be back.

Howdy yall! Ozzy the cowboy here bout giddy up and tell y’all bout that time i went to Hamburger Factory to corral my self some burgers! Can’t go wrong with a BBQ onion ring bacon cheese burger. The cheese was cheddar! Cheddar cheese is sooooo good! This burger was amazing i love the bbq on it and the fries were good too. Im not a fan of big fat fries but these were alright cause they were crispy! We ordered the appetizer samples and that was truly the gem of our meal. Deep fried zucchini, japapeño bottle caps, chicken nuggest, sticks of cheese, fungus. My favorite was the deep fried fungus it tasted earthy and soft. Fellow Unilocaler Joel A liked them too. Service was, how they in Spanish: «al cien”(100% for you gringos). I didnt get the waiters name but he was cool we talked about phones for a while cause he had the updated version of mine. His skills were on point. If i had a western restaurant id steal him and make him manager of my place. But i dont so dont worry Hamburger Factory. Long story short ill keep coming here to eat. Perhaps bring my friends and brothers im sure They’ll like it. Unilocal out!

Walking in here I thought«if vegetarians only eat vegetables, I would never want to become a humanitarian». Came here with fellow Unilocaler Oswaldo A. guy is kinda wierd but I hang out with him every now and then. So he had the brilliant idea of coming to this place for breakfast at like 2pm. The décor of this place is cowboy. Really well done too, the bathrooms were even dirty. Service was excellent. I noticed I was running out of sprite, next thing I know there is a new glass gor me on the table I didn’t even know when he brought it, didnt even have to ask. Thats darn good service. Ok honestly this place was really good. I cant find anything negative that would make a difference in star rating. We had on of the appetizers, I don’t remember the name but it was awesome. FRIEDFRIEDFRIED zucchini, jalapeño rings, onion rings, cheese sticks, mushrooms, chicken nuggets! Sounds good huh? It was. The batter was great, not greasy at all so everything had a crunchy factor to it. I had the«Gringo Burger» w/tater tots. I chose it because i like avocado a lot. Great burger. Patty was ordered medium and it came out perfect. thanks again vegetarians.

The décor and history of the location is really cool. Lots to see. Really gives you an appreciation for the area. First time here I went safe and got the cheeseburger. It was just okay. I was honestly expecting something a little more gourmet than a standard run-of-the-mill-eaten-a-million-times burger since, you know, it’s a frickin’ hamburger factory. Like a juicier patty, the cheese melted everywhere, so big you had to cut it, etc. But it was just routine. Like Padres failing to win 80 games year after year routine. I’m really surprised. The menu is quite extensive and I’d like to come back to try some other things. Their breakfast looks especially tasty. Oh, and the tater tots as a side instead of fries is a very nice touch. Good option to have. Big complaint, though: Tables right next to the bathroom, where we were conveniently seated despite the restaurant being fairly empty. That’s just gross. There’s zero buffer zone nor is there any kind of hidden hallway. Basically if you’re at one of those tables then you’re essentially in the line of fire. So yeah. Food’s okay. It’s worth checking out.

Working in Poway so long it’s been a long time comping that I try the Hamburger Factory. Located in Old town Poway it’s a cowboy themed family place fit for families for sure. Walking in it does have that dark saloon feel but if you’re into that, they have a very well lit room from skylights that gives the impression of being outside… without you know, nature. Though, it did have a few flies buzzing around us during lunchtime… I’ll chalk it up to summer though. The menu itself is actually pretty extensive. Offering not only burgers but other sandwiches, salads, and the typical fare you’d expect from a family place. I ordered the Jr. Mushroom Swiss burger and it was acceptable. Nothing gourmet or too fancy here but it hit the spot for lunch. I do appreciate tater tots and even sweet potato tater tots as an option. Mmm. If I had kids, and lived in Poway… they’d most likely drag me here all the time…

If you’re old enough to remember the Country Bear Jamboree at Disneyland, this place is pretty much it, except with hamburgers and beer. Hamburger Factory is in the old part of Poway and they give it an old western theme with a bunch of random stuff mixed in. Half of the menu is not so surprisingly comprised of burgers. Pretty much every kind of topping you can imagine(chili, cheeses, eggs, mushrooms, pastrami, bacon, etc). I’m a sucker for tater tots so I always get them with my burger instead of fries. Overall the burgers are good but it’s kind of hard to mess that up. Sometimes when I’m trying not to be a fat ass I’ll opt for either the salads or the grilled chicken sandwiches. They’re not bad but they’re very ordinary. The mix of the greens and the seasoning and preparation of the chicken is plain.

I wish I could give this restaurant 10 stars! It is absolutely amazing from the ambiance, to the service, to the food. Ambiance: It is located in the Old Poway neighborhood which is so cute I can hardly stand it. It is comparable to what Old Town San Diego is, but instead of being Spanish it is old western. The restaurant is the front half of this wooden building which has a long wrap around porch. The parking lot is encircled with a railroad track and I believe the train runs during the days. The entire neighborhood has an old timey feel and I can’t get enough. The restaurant is covered in decorations ranging from Padres paraphernalia, to photos to old western themed trinkets. My mom and I were sure the place would be extremely dusty due to the amount of stuff, but it was so clean! The tables and chairs have a cracker barrel feel and it is definitely the happenin’ place of Poway. Service: We were seated right away and our server was a doll. She was very helpful and gave us suggestions as we told her it was our first time. She listed out all our side options twice without any bit of annoyance in her voice. Our drinks were always full and she came around enough to make sure we were good. Food: Holy cow… no pun intended! It was SOGOOD! My mom ordered the Jr. Chili Burger and I kid you not, it was smothered in chilli! You could not even see the burger or buns. She said it was delicious. I ordered the Gringo burger and I was very happy. The meat was cooked a perfect medium and the sesame bun was very fresh and fluffy. It was gigantic and I only ate about half of my burger. I opted for the side of mashed potatoes and they are quite good as well. We will definitely be back with the guys!

My first impression was that this place was very secluded and kind of hidden, but this was probably because I don’t frequent this area often. It is right next to Old Poway Park, which is a nice walk with a nice view of old locomotives, if you haven’t been there yet. I went here for a company luncheon, and we were seated in the covered patio, about 30 of us. We were helped by only one waitress who took all of our orders. Most of the food came out in a timely fashion, but a few were either forgotten or mistaken for another order. This could’ve been prevented if there was more than one order taker for the whole group. I ordered the Beefster, which is an okay burger at best. It supposedly came with au-jus dipped roast beef, but it was surprisingly dry. The added crunch of the onion rings to the ½ lb burger was certainly a plus. I did like the pretzel buns that it came with; I thought that was a nice change from the usual sesame hamburger buns. This is a good place for big groups, and I’d recommend it for weekend family gatherings and such. The burgers, however, have a lot of room for improvement, given its pretty high price, the Beefster being almost $ 12. Plenty of parking space as well.
