So disappointing! My husband and I so wanted this to be a nice place to dine out. I ordered the French dip and couldn’t eat it because it was so salty. My 1st thought was that the«au jus» was the problem but no, it was the poboy itself. I sent it back and shared my husbands plate with him. He ordered the half and half with fried catfish, shrimp and potato salad. One bite of the potato salad and he spit it in his napkin. The fish and shrimp had reasonable flavors but we’re both served just a bit above room temp. Eating a hush puppy was like chewing gravel. Poor food aside, the restaurant floor was so dirty it had a slippery greasy feel. Looking around I didn’t see anyone that looked like Mgmt to bring our complaints too. Such a booming area, too bad there isn’t a good seafood in the area.

Not worth the money for sure. I got the Carolina crab cakes and I didn’t like the crab in it for sure. Way too fishy. We also got crab claws as a starter and they were fishy as well. My mom got a soft shell crab(her favorite) and didn’t finish it… that can say a lot. Our waitress was also really weird or just distracted? And the hostess didn’t even show us to the table… just pointed us where to go. Not the best service either. It just wasn’t worth it at all

not worth the amount of money to pay! My husband and I are in our thirties. He was dressed in his Marine Corp uniform and I am 6 months pregnant. My husband ordered a beer. She had him go to the car for is ID. Which I kinda understand but then she kept addressing him as «Hon.» That got on my nerves. I think she had too many tables. She seemed to forget that she didn’t take our order. Needless to say we were the last table to leave the restaurant. Food took a while. Once it came out it was good. Just not worth $ 60 for 2 entrees. If someone is plaything that much, it should be more attentive service. I don’t see us going back here again. Mike Anderson Seafood is about the same price with MUCH better service and food!

I’m getting to the point– the seafood stuffed potato I got was SUPER good! However, the side I got– steamed veggies was very soggy! This place isn’t the cutest nor the brightest, it seems very dark in there. But I like how it is at a good location, easy for me to drop by for lunch. Service was good nothing to complaint about!

Not that great for the price. Definitely a lot of other seafood places that are way better and not as expensive.

Came here for charbroiled oysters. Simple, right? Waited an hour for a table of seven, even with reservations. Strike one. Waited another 20 minutes for drinks AFTER we got sat down. Strike two. After getting my order for charbroiled oysters in, and finally receiving them another 15 minutes after that, they were room temperature. Let me repeat that. CHARBROILEDOYSTERSCAMEOUTROOMTEMPERTURE. Strike three. Good thing I’m with good friends out for drinks anyway. Good try, On the Halfshell. Maybe next time.

Tasty, good service, a little spendy but large portions and always some to take home.

We came out for dessert and to hear Debbie Landry play and it was such a great night! I love how you can sit in the bar area and enjoy food and drink while listening to great live music! It’s Louisiana and those two things just go hand in hand! We chose the white chocolate bread pudding and nobody at our table was disappointed! The bread pudding was one of the best I have ever had. I love a good sense bread pudding and the caramel drizzle and rum sauce with this one just made me want to dive into the whole dish! I also have to comment on the coffee. I am a coffee snob and rarely drink anything other than Starbucks but the aroma of the coffee as it came to our table was enough that made my mouth water. I tasted my nieces and it was really great coffee! Next time I’ll order a cup! Nov 10, 2015 Ok this has turned into our Monday night place to go! We love to listen to the live music and enjoy the great food. Tonight we had the fried Okra for an appetizer and it was to die for. The batter is light and not greasy at all. I could have devoured the whole plate but I shared to have room for my Oyster poboy! Let me tell you the Poboy was FULL of fresh oysters and they were fried to perfection. Not greasy at all and seasoned just right! Rhyan had the Shrimp Poboy and It was just as full of shrimp. We both agreed hey we’re the best Poboys we have had this entire trip. We did save room for dessert by taking home half of our sandwiches and I am so glad we did! Tonight we tried the praline cheesecake. It ISNOT on the menu but you can order it – and you should! The cheesecake comes swimming in a praline sauce and has fresh whip cream. My mouth waters just thinking about it again! If you have not eaten here you really should give it a try. You will not be disappointed! Also, be aware you can take kids into the bar area to eat so t an be a great way to expose kids to wonderful music with their meal!

Went for Sunday brunch last week. 20 minutes after order placed they advise no hash browns. When brought to table Benedict order wrong. Wife ordered seafood salad, advertised on menu as their signature dish. When the salad came it had four shrimp and literally a tablespoon of crabmeat. When questioned, the Waitress discussed with the manager. Response was that the cost of seafood has gone up so they couldn’t give more seafood, but they would comp the meal. Really? Lost a long term customer.

Went here because Sammy’s was closed. Signature grilled shrimp poboy was good, but the fried catfish I got for my son was excellent! We’ll be going back and this time dad will get catfish!

Very disappointed. I’ve tried this place twice, and I’ll never go back. First time I was left standing in line by myself and after 20 minutes I never was waited on. Second time, ordered to go platter. Was told 15 minutes it would be ready. After waiting for over 30 minutes I had to ask again. My order came out cold, a few little oysters and 2 catfish strips, small salad. Wow! BIGDEAL! TOTALRIPOFF! for almost $ 18.00. I can’t stand this place!

Great meal tonight here. It was very busy tonight. My food was excellent — the service was not quite as good which is why I took off a star. Our server was obviously new; she did not explain the specials or even tell us about them. She could not answer several menu questions as well. But she gave a good effort otherwise. I had a dozen oysters on the half shell to start. For my meal I had their grilled shrimp poboy, with a side of baked sweet potato. The meal was excellent.

I went here for lunch with my mom yesterday. Service was great. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Food came out pretty quick. And the place is clean. BUT I had the tuna with seafood gumbo. Tuna is 17.99 which isn’t a big deal. But believe me I have had fresh tuna and it just falls apart when cooked right. The piece of tuna I had didn’t taste fresh at all. It had more of a frozen tuna taste. I could be wrong but it was hard and tasteless. Seafood gumbo was good but my rice wasn’t cooked all the way. I’m not planning on coming back again

The wife and I had lunch here this past Friday, as recommended by a friend. My hot roast beef poboy with au jus was good but nothing special. The wife’s oyster poboy was good but somewhat bland. Service was adequate but cleanliness was subpar. Both of us had to «dump» the crumbs from our chairs before we sat down, as if a child ate crackers prior to our arrival. Prices were reasonable to slightly high.

We go fairly often ONLY because they’re right by our house and there’s no other place nearby for raw oysters, unless you want to wait 2 hours for a table at Sammy’s. The service is slow, and the non-oyster food is just average and way overpriced. Also, their crackers suck. I know that sounds petty, but it’s not. We like saltines with our raw oysters. This place uses a cheap, no name saltine and every single time we go, there are more broken crackers than intact ones. Seriously. I usually open about 24 twin packs of crackers trying to find 12 non-crushed crackers for my dozen oysters. My wife has to do the same. It’s really annoying, not to mention messy and wasteful. Anyway, there aren’t other options, so we go. But if you’re not dying for raw oysters, there’s no good reason to visit this place.

They removed all the cool décor for just plain jane and put vinyl table cloths over the decoupaged tables. Now it’s just mediocre atmosphere. My oyster salad was loaded(14) oysters cooked to perfection with tons of greens.

Service was terrible. We sat in the bar area and it took at least 10 minutes for the bartender/waitress to greet us(and we were starving!). She had an attitude. It took an additional 30 minutes to get our food(and they weren’t busy). The fried pickles were ok, the galvez catfish was so mushy and tasteless I didn’t even finish it. The worst sweet potato fries I’ve ever had. I didn’t know sweet potato fries could be so tasteless. The only saving grace was that the oysters were amazing.
