My husband had chicken fried steak, country potatoes and eggs with GRAVY. I had biscuits and GRAVY. I mean homemade, best gravy I’ve had since my Grandmas. Service was fast and friendly. 99 cent coffee too!

Was told the corn beef hash was fresh made. It tasted like canned corn beef hash fried. Homemade taste was not great on country gravy(very bland). Would rate this food with only two stars(Maybe). The service was ok.

They don’t even deserve one star! Yes, the owners have an autistic son. But, that does not mean the dad needs to make him do everything that the dad is incapable of. The service sucks, if anything is homemade it sucks! Everything is bought from a store in a can. The owner Nick also likes to screw people out of money! Don’t worry, karma will come back to you!

I have breakfast at Tommy’s all the time, the food is always excellent and the owners are absolutely wonderful people. I would rather give my money to the locals opposed to big chains.

The food came out quickly. I had to ask for a drink refill and then wait w/out anything to drink w/my meal until I was ready for the check. The food wasn’t spectacular or as good as I had anticipated from the reviews. The million dollar pie was kinda gross, kinda good. I was craving something sweet so it was good, but the ingredient measurements were off. It could have used more nuts. What is up with the cell phone swipe credit card thing? All in all, I could have saved the gas, effort to get dressed, energy and money by just making this at home. It would have tasted way better and I would have had a drink to wash it down with.

Tommy’s was not very good. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and biscuits. The eggs wee over cooked, the biscuits tasted like canned ones and were cold. The 2 pieces of bacon were good though. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs over medium and toast. He said it was good. The second waitress called in sick so the one girl was running all over trying to get everyone taken care of. She did a good job. It was not a «fancy fancy» place and VERYCLEAN and friendly. Will will not be back though!

I never complain about restaurants on this type of forum but the food was so horrible I have to. First off they brought our over easy eggs with the yolks broken not to metion they were cold. Then I noticed the sausage patties were the frozen kind that you heat and serve. Then to top it all off my biscuits were Pilsbury Grands biscuits!!! Why have a restaurant if you are only going serve garbage you can buy at the store and make at home? I will never return to this restaurant again and the owners should be ashamed of themselves! I don’t see this restaurant lasting a year.

Slowest. Service. Ever. I don’t blame the servers — they can’t serve food when there’s none to be served. After trying to have breakfast there this morning(with our $ 5 coupon from«Grandma» herself from our previous visit because we had to wait so long that time), we gave up after waiting 30 minutes when the two tables who were seated(and ordered) after us got their food. We paid for our teas and returned the coupon. We won’t be going there again. I can’t say the food the first time we went was all that spectacular either. Which is why I am baffled by how long it takes to actually get the food out. Are they waiting for the chickens to drop eggs? Did they have to run over to Jamie’s to get gravy? Are they cooking on a George Foreman grill? Only one toaster??? What gives???

Well I like to hold my reviews until I’ve had the chance to try different food’s after a few visit’s. Today was my 6th visit to this wonderful family owned country restaurant. I started my meal today with their beef and barley soup, absolutely yummy, it was as good as my mother make’s. PS Don’t tell her. On my previous visit I had a side salad that comes free with a dinner meal, it was pretty generic to say the least, bottled ranch dressing didn’t help matters. On my previous visit I had their chicken fried steak dinner with homemade mashed potatoes and their brown gravy, wow it was fantastic. Today I ordered their meatloaf dinner and it was fantastic as well. Served with choice of country(white) gravy or their brown gravy, which is more red then brown, it was then I realized it must be tomato based. Yes indeed a back east traditional tomato and beef homemade gravy, I haven’t had this in a restaurant for 20 years, what a treat. They offered me fresh steamed Carrot’s, I’m not a huge fan of cooked carrots, but these were fresh steamed, perfectly cooked and sweet. I’ve recently enjoyed their potato salad and chicken fried steak sandwich and really enjoyed it. I’ve also had breakfast a few times, large portions, fresh fried potatoes and good sausage gravy. All in all Tommy’s is a fresh new addition to Prescott Valley, I recommend it everyone. With fresh salads and mashed potatoes, I’m sold. it’s so nice not being served potato salad and coleslaw that doesn’t come from a tub.

Food is variable in quality. Some days it’s really good, others, not so much. It usually depends on how crowded it is at the time. This establishment is NOT equipped to handle its capacity. As it fills up the kitchen falls quickly behind. You can EXPECTTOWAITFORANHOURORMORFORYOURFOODTOARRIVE. The servers generally are excellent, however understaffed for peak business times. If you are unfortunate enough to sit in the booth next to the baked goods rack on a busy day, you will hear the owners rudely screaming at the servers and kitchen staff relentlessly. An unacceptable dining or workplace experience for all. I, my family, and everyone I can tell will NOTRETURN. Treating people that way is unacceptable — period.

Went there today. Not a big fan. Drove up and parked in front of a sign advertising a need for a full time cook and part time servers. I hope they find the cook soon. The place was crowded and the servers(2) were overloaded. I had an omelette and my wife had the meat loaf with fries. Peas were the vegetable. It took awhile but the order finally arrived. I ordered a side of country gravy with the omelette as the menu said that it was their own«special recipe». I believed that the recipe has been shared with every other restaurant that serves«country gravy». Not special. My potatoes were undercooked but edible however, the fries that came with my wife’s meatloaf were just plain inedible. They were so soggy that they fell over immediately when lifted with the fork. The peas were canned peas, eh… But the meatloaf was good. I mentioned to the cook, who rang up our check that he needs to work on the potatoes. He responded that he had been fighting them for days and just couldn’t make them work. A quick trip to Google would’ve solved that problem. Just in case he is reading this…“The crispiest French fries(read that non-soggy) are first soaked in cold water to remove excess starch, dried, deep fried in lower temperature oil to drive out all of the excess water, then deep fried in hotter oil to crisp the outside.” Courtesy of the website . May go back if/when they get a better cook.

Wow… One of the best places to eat in PV. We are always on the lookout for some place good to eat, and this place is it. My wife and I have eaten here twice. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both meals were wonderful. Really good pancakes, bacon, eggs cooked to perfection, and GRITS. I LOVEGRITS and they have it. Now for lunch, it was as good as it gets. My wife had liver and onions(GAG), which she loves and she said it was cooked perfectly. I had the chicken fried steak and was in heaven. Great gravy, really great potatoes, delicious corn, and the cornbread took me back to Georgia. We also had their homemade soups. I had the beef barley and my wife had the Navy bean. She said it was one of the best she has ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed mine too. Our server was friendly and efficient. The prices are reasonable. The people that own this place seem very nice. All I can tell you is that this is probably our favorite«café» to eat at in the entire Prescott /Prescott Valley area. I know that several other businesses have resided at this location, and I really hope Tommy’s is successful as the food is just too good to lose. Good luck to the owners. Keep the good eats comin’.

I’ve been to this restaurant now twice and both my experiences were bad. The first time i went i met a friend. We waited 20 minutes for eggs and potatoes and we were one of only 3 tables(The other 2 tables already had food when we got there). The food was ok. The second time i went with my girlfriend because she wanted to try it out. When we got there nobody greeted us and we sat ourselves as the sign at the front reads. A couple minutes went by and still nobody to be seen.(We sat right next to the front by the way). Now another table walks in and seats themselves and still nobody to be seen. Now a third table walks in and seats themselves all the way in the back. Finally the waitress after about 5 good minutes walks out and looks surprised to see 3 new tables. She proceeds to get the other two tables drinks and menus.(How would she know we were there first when nobody was out front)? We finally get drinks and a menu after waiting about 10 minutes now. She then takes the other tables orders first. We’re still being patient. Finally our order is taken and we wait forever for our food. The other tables get there food first and we’re still waiting. By now the owner walks out and doesn’t even come ask us how we’re doing. We glance over to her and she says«Ummmm, can i help you?!?» like we were inconveniencing her. We were so thrown back by how rude she was that we said no we’re fine. Our food finally came and it was ok. My girlfriend had to send her scrambled eggs back because they were raw. I have talked to a couple other people who also had a bad experience with the owner being rude and the service taking forever even when the restaurant is not busy. My girlfriend and i will not be eating here again. I gave them 2 stars because their«house salsa» was delicious. Maybe i can just get a container of that to go?

Always on the lookout for new places to eat around town, we visited Tommy’s Country Café on a recommendation from my wife’s hair dresser. It just opened a few days ago and it’s off the beaten path… About a ten minute drive from the central district of Prescott Valley. The restaurant is in a small, older building and has, as the name implies, a country style décor. It immediately imparts that«home town diner» feeling when you walk in and it’s probably going to be a hangout for locals and nearby businesses. The first thing you see when you walk in is the chalkboard that tells you to sit anywhere you please. So we did, finding a booth in the back corner. We sat for several minutes as staff scurried back and forth. Nobody acknowledged us yet so my wife asked an older lady clearing the table next to us if we were supposed to order at the front counter or something. Quickly realizing we had been pretty much overlooked, she apologized and immediately served water and menus. This is a real country menu. Everything from biscuits and gravy to steaks, sandwiches and burgers of every ilk, and everything in between. Everything is touted to be fresh and homemade. We decided on the green chili cheeseburgers and fries, and a Pepsi. It was very evident this place newly opened only days prior. We watched as the servers scurried about haphazardly, with little efficiency in their activities. Clearly inexperienced and not yet up to the multi-tasking one sees in veteran waitstaff, our server wore a look of panic and confusion on her face as she delivered food to the wrong table several times. The scene was repeated to varying degrees by other servers as well. Wrong orders, incomplete orders, forgotten salads or cornbreads. When our server finally got to our table, we told her to stop and take a deep breath… She managed a smile and apologized — said it was only her second day. I don’t think she had ever waited tables before and seemed somewhat overwhelmed. Anyway, she managed to take our order and scurried off. After a much-to-long wait, our burgers finally arrived. She asked if we wanted ketchup and mustard with our food. Yuup! Oh, and we ordered them medium, and they were perfectly cooked. The patties, generous in size, were obviously homemade and came with fresh lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. The fries were freshly cut and tasty — but soft. Just the way we like them. If you want crispy fries, you will have settle for the fast food variety that have been dipped in all kinds of junk to keep them crispy. These were perfect for me. Halfway through our meal, she remembered our ketchup and mustard, and finally brought my Pepsi. All and all, our meal was great. Our bill was $ 26 including the tip. Those burgers and fries deserve a 5 star rating. The service? Well, I give that a 2. The effort was there. The experience wasn’t. I will definitely eat there again. Everything I saw served looked homemade and people seemed to enjoy what they were eating. I you eat there, be patient. I think the entire staff is new to the restaurant business — even our credit transaction ran through an iPhone via Pay Pal or some similar service. But the food is worth the wait and I’m sure service will improve with time.

My husband and I took our daughter to Tommy’s Country Café for lunch. Everything we ordered was great! My husband and daughter ordered omelets that were fluffy and delicious and I ordered Liver and Onions which was tender and yummy. I totally recommend Tommy’s Country Café for a great meal and great service.
