I ordered the lamb burger and it tastes like meatloaf. but I always enjoy burgers so I was satisfied. my order does not correctly reflects the Greek cuisine that this place is known for. however my cousin ordered the meat plate, but the meat was salty and unimpressive.

We were a party of 5 on a Saturday night in May. Easy to make a reservation, and our table was waiting for us when we got there. It was busy and noisy — the only reasons for not giving five stars. Otherwise the service was attentive and the food was excellent. Particularly the grilled octopus, sirloin, and spanikopita. Also, I thought it was very affordable. So much more on the menu to try. We’ll be back!

I joined a group of friends out to this place and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service. I had the moussaka and enjoyed it though it was quite cheesier than what I’m used to. There was an appetizer platter that was made with fresh and whole ingredients. The only reason why I’m not giving a full five stars is because this Greek food was rather Americanized than the Greek food I’m used to eating.

DONOTGETFOODFROMHERE. ABSOLUTELYWORSTQUALITYOFSERVICE. The food may be great but if you ever had a bad experience they are NOTHELPFUL. We ordered a large order through foodler and didn’t receive half of the items. Upon calling, they rudely told my coworker«if you want to do business with me then go through me, dont call foodler.» When we asked them to deal with the situation on hand, because we’d already paid and ordered and just wanted the food she claimed«its your problem» verbatim, «Foodler screwed up, its not my responsibility so take it up with them». When we explained that at the end of the day they established the responsibility is on them because they established that business relationship and level of trust she simply disregarded our comments with a horrific attitude. If you are receiving an order, then you’re obligated to fulfill it. If someone messes up and is a third party, as the recipient of the service, its your responsibility to fix the situation. If that means returning all the money, not partial but all, or delivering the food that is missing then that displays a level of professionalism. I don’t care how great or terrible your food is, but this a service industry. And this restaurant completely disregarded that.

I’ve always thought this place was underrated. I went many times as an undergrad and hadnt been back since moving downtown a few years ago. I went back this weekend and was a little worried that I wouldn’t like it as much after trying all of the places downtown and on federal hill… But I was pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious and the servers were all very friendly and very patient with my indecisive family. The back room is really beautiful and cozy. The Greek fries, topped with feta and oregano, are delicious! As is the house salad, which is covered with a creamy Greek dressing. We had some souvlaki sandwiches which were yummy, but what really blew me away was the trahanas! I’ve never had trahanas before so I can’t comment on their authenticity or anything, but they are truly delicious bathing in a creamy/mushroomy sauce! I was so excited to eat my leftovers for lunch the next day and I’m already planning my next visit to get some more

Like lamb? Try marathon sandwich :) Also, that is Turkish coffee, my friends, whatever you call it. Preferably Mehmet Efendi brand would be awesome!

The pros: The food is good(though see my note below) and they have a nice mix between Greek and standard«American» food. I really liked the atmosphere — it feels casual but upscale at the same time. I’d come back for drinks if I was in the area. The cons: I became sick the night after having lunch here, as did my boyfriend. We obviously don’t know for sure if it was their food, but we were fine the next day and I recently learned one of my students got sick after eating here too. But of course, it’s hard to say if it’s a pattern and could have been unique experiences. Still, makes the place sound less appetizing. Parking in the area is a bit of a drag. Also, some of the tables are a little small. Normally, I would like the intimate space, but the entrees came out too fast after our salads and we had no room! Overall, it’s worth checking it out I think. So far we have only been for lunch, but I imagine it’s a good place to get a drink later as well.(And drinks are a bit safer!!)

Went here on a Saturday night to meet friends. Drinks were great and the atmosphere is somewhat romantic and intimate. Loved the free Lemon Drop shots for my friends birthday. We had a great time with lots of fun and laughs. The place is nice and clean. Location is great. I will definitely be back. Great area for Spring/Summer bar hopping. Wish every night could be as fun as that night was. Memories to last a lifetime

Stopped in tonight with 9 friends after a movie at the Avon. We were seated in the back room right away. Our waitress was friendly and did not rush us at all even though we were only getting wine tonight. I’ve been here many times for the great food, but it’s nice to know you can just stop in for a glass of wine after a movie sometimes. Thanks!

Pretty good. I got the braised lamb. It was tender and very flavorful and delicious. I just wish there was more! It is a little expensive though and I think there are better places on Thayer to go to.

This place is pretty good! i got a Greek salad with chicken… Although simple the chicken was cooked perfectly and it had lots of feta and a homemade dressing… Just the way I like it. My friend had lamb chops they looked really good and he was as pleased. The atmosphere was relaxed lots of college aged adults.

No doubt about it, Andrea’s is a perfect mixture of causal and fancy to make anyone comfortable. The ambience is soothing and warm and the setup feels open and private at the same time. There’s a great bar to sit at and booths and tables as well. It’s situated on the corner of Meeting St and Thayer St and you can usually find parking on Meeting St. The staff are friendly and efficient and they seem to enjoy working there. Now, for the food… if you want authentic Greek food, this is the spot. They have the best feta cheese I’ve ever had, and their Tadzhikistan is it of this world. Their Mediterranean dip platter from the appetizer section could be a meal all on its own, with warm fresh pita bread. I love coming here for a quick lunch or for a sit down dinner with drinks, apps, dinner, dessert, the whole nine. You won’t regret coming to Andrea’s.

I can hardly believe this is my first review for Andreas. My hubby and I come here at least once year for the half a dozen years we’ve lived in RI to get our Greek food fix. I’ll admit that our past visits have been hit or miss(which might be the reason why I haven’t reviewed Andreas till now). However, this visit was a total home run. Friends from out of town joined us and we enjoyed the Greek sample appetizer(it goes by another name and the waitstaff knows what you’re asking for even if you don’t). Delicious! Stuffed grape leaves, feta cheese, pitas and hummus, grilled chicken and beef, kielbasa style sausages, cukes, tomatoes, red onions, and tzatkiki sauce — so much food! We also had mussels in a white wine sauce. I was pretty full, so I had a bowl of seafood soup as my entrée. Hubby had lamb chops. Our friends shared a gyro(can’t remember if it was beef or lamb). We were very satisfied with this visit and our waiter was very attentive. It was Saturday night, the place was very full, but we were not forgotten about.

Andreas is so underrated. The food is unique and consistently tasty, and the service is awesome! I ordered a haddock sandwich, and my boyfriend got the Tahanas, which are gnocchi in white sauce. I was a bit skeptical about ordering a fish sandwich, but I wanted something a bit more nutritious. I wasn’t disappointed! The haddock sandwich is like an upscale Filet-o-Fish, with lightly seared haddock, baby arugula, and tomato on pillowy ciabatta. It also comes with ketchup and caper dill mayo on the side. I was especially surprised by the quality of the fish, which was flaky, fresh, and well-cooked. I got onion rings as my side dish, and they were large and delightfully crunchy. The Tahanas, which I got to try, were also delicious. The gnocchi was chewy and soft, the white sauce rich and flavorful, and the chicken tender and juicy. The garlic bread spears that garnished the dish were also very tasty. The woman who served us, Anya, was super sweet, and we got our food quickly. I left my phone behind after leaving the restaurant, and when I called to ask about it, Anya was kind enough to search for it and hold on to it until I came back. Andreas is a great place to go if you want a traditional sit down dinner. Great Greek food, great service, and comfy seating. Grab their licorice candies as well! Coming from someone who hates licorice, the candies are good!

I’m from Boston and me and some girlfriends decided to go to Providence for the night to do some hookah at Byblos. As we got to Providence we came across Andreas and it looked really good so we decided to go inside to grab a table. We were nicely greeted and showed to a nice comfy booth for the three of us. As we looked over our menus deciding on what to have for dinner we ordered a pitcher of their red sangria and it was so good!(we had to order another after we finished that one) The atmosphere is really cool and we sat by the window so we kind of people watched while we waiting on our food. Our food came and it was delicious! I ordered the chicken kabob with a Greek salad and rice! It was amazing! The kabob was very filling big pieces of chicken! I will be coming here again with my boyfriend for a date night!

I haven’t been to Andreas in years and seriously don’t know why. I can’t get over the greek appetizer we got which consisted of 3 dips and pita bread. The pita bread was warm and soft and the dips were AHH.MAY.ZING. I also ordered a cucumbertini which was far from a disappointment. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. They also have outdoor seating that definitely fills up quick when the weather is enjoyable!

Greek food? Hadn’t had it in over 20 years. Didn’t remember what I liked or didn’t. But when a friend invited me, I said, sure, why not? Oh. My. Goodness. The ambiance, the lighting, the screens showing slideshows of Greece, the amazing cocktail selection, the owner greeting guests at the door, the super friendly waitstaff, the great selection of food… Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. We ordered a sampler plate for an appetizer, and one of my friends was able to tell me what everything was. I wasn’t thrilled about the thought of trying the lamb, but my friend convinced me and again– Oh My Goodness, was it delicious. The appetizer plate was so filling, none of use were sure we could eat our main courses. Of course, we made room. The moussaka was amazing(and just as good were the leftovers the next night!), and the pastitsio was also delicious. We had to order dessert, and shared wonderful, honey soaked baklava, and tried the galaktoboureko as well. Greek food may be my new favorite; I cannot wait to go back to try more!!! Oh! They also have traditional American foods for those who don’t feel like being adventurous, as well. :-)
