Beautiful outdoor seating and a great band was playing when we were there. The shrimp and grits were wonderful! You must try the hush puppies, they were the best! The hurricane Charlie pictures and memorabilia was quite interesting.

Every time I’ve been here I’ve been impressed by how nice everyone is. The food and drinks were always fresh and the service fast. It’s a great place to hear live music too with great views of the harbor. I especially liked the musician today, it was me.

What a fun place. Service was amazing and food was perfect. Location and view was what we needed, water view. I recommend!

I have gone often for lunch. I usually order the fish tacos which are tasty. The atmosphere is pleasant particularly when seated outdoors. I’ve seen dolphins while eating lunch. What a thrill that is. The service is also good. In season not always so good but that applies to most of the local restaurants.

Okay about the 4th or 5th trip down to beautiful southwest Florida and again hurricane Charlies is on point. Anytime I come down with friends we stop here for lunch, dinner once we get to punta gorda. The food is a bar-pub style but always major staples of fresh fish, this time around me and my company choose to enjoy the apps of grouper bites and crawfish, the bites were okay light and flaky and moist just bland in season, but the crawfish wow, covered in a Cajun season and soaking a butter garlic sauce that was out of this world. As for main dishes I got the soft shell crab sandwich with fries, my company’s dish was Cajun jambalaya bother dishes where hot when they hit table, the jambalaya was packed with chicken, shrimp, sausage and a few more crawfish. All in all Charlies has really come into their own, also great entertainment almost every night with one or two person shows or even the patrons who have enjoyed themselves a little bit more then they should.

Atmosphere is fun. You grab menus as you walk in and find a table or sit at the bar. They have drink specials which come in a bucket or some really other great refreshing seaside type drinks! There really is something for everyone here. Lots of appetizer choices and dinner choices as well. The bartenders and waitstaff are really great. If you’re lucky you just might see a dolphin!

The sushi here is amazing and you definitely can’t beat the views of the Peace River on the back deck. Our group has been here twice in the last week and tried the Category 2, 4&5, the Caterpillar, the grouper and the sashimi — all delicious. One thing I would not recommend are the oysters on half shell, we have ordered these twice now thinking that the first visit was a fluke. It definitely wasn’t. These were the smallest, chewiest oysters we have seen.

I am torn as to what star rating to bestow here due to the fact that I enjoyed our time at the bar waiting for a table more than I did sitting at the table and eating… which was the whole purpose in the first place. Here’s the deal: This place is an obvious waterfront tourist trap so it’s no shock that you will have a moderate wait for an outside table. Deal, no problemo. We started at the bar while waiting for a table. We had an AWESOME bartender who made us AWESOME drinks that were priced surprisingly reasonable. Once we got to a table the real agonizing wait ensued. Our waiter was nice but the kitchen was crazy slow. The whole experience took 2 whole hours… most of which was spent waiting for our food. My ceviche was tasty but so soupy! I have never been served ceviche with so much juice AND shrimp with the tails still on??? Who wants to pick through ceviche to fish out the shrimp and remove all the tails? It was served with tortilla chips that were so paper thin, they could not be used to scoup with… especially considering how much liquid was present. Throw some dry lettuce mix on the plate and this is what they call ceviche. The other dishes were not impressive either. The bathrooms really got me. Hold your nose becuase the disgusting stench of cat urine will overwhelm you when you open the door. OMG Eww!!! This restaurant is very large with both inside and outside seating. The small women’s restroom only has two stalls and one was«out of order» apparently for quite some time now as the words«out of order» were written in crayon right on the door. As I always say, this immediately makes me question what the condition of the kitchen must be in. :( To sum things up, I would return for weekend cocktails and maybe an appetizer but I would pass on a full meal experience and possibly wear a diaper. Lol

Staying at the hotel next to the restaurant so we decided to have a late dinner. The hostess was far from welcoming. We requested outdoor dining therefore there was a bit of a wait. Understandable Once we were seated the table was not the cleanest. The waitress was pleasant and attentive at first. We received our drinks and sat back and waited for our meal. Another servicer delivered our meals, two of the three meals were not correct. Wrong sides and steak was not cooked as ordered. We had the wait more than ten minutes till our waitress stopped by the table to correct the issues. By that time our food was cold. The waitress did bring the sides by it was too late to enjoy them with our meals. For the money we spent the food and service was not worth it!

Went there the other night with a friend that suggested the place a local I’ve been a cook most of my life and I can tell you I would be embarrassed to sell those kind of oysters they look like they were opened 2 days prior… and kept in a cooler they were extremely dry and unappetizing the location was absolutely beautiful but I would suggest the beer not the food

Delicious flat breads and excellent raw bar!!! Great drinks. Beautiful view. Unfortunately, it can get very smokey outside, but that is the downside of many Florida hotspots. Yummy grouper sandwich. I recommend blackened. Wings looked amazing. Burgers were good.

Just had lunch for my first visit to Hurricane Charlie’s. We were seated immediately and the wait staff were all very friendly and expedient. Food was very good and sitting on the deck looking out over the water was nice.

Food was just ok… I wanted the steamed mussels but they had just rub out. The atmosphere… right over the harbor… is lovely, especially for sunset watching!

Came in from Lexington, KY and stopped at the Waterfront Inn for the night. Hurricane Charleys is right next door to the Inn which was easily accessible and nice since we were tired from driving for 13 hours. Our server, Christin was fantastic. She was prompt with our orders, extremely nice and great to talk to about the surrounding area. We ordered the sushi and to be honest I was very impressed with it, Volcano roll #1 and first date at the golden gate(I probably got the second ones name wrong). Overall the experience was fantastic and the drinks were delicious with a nice signature cocktail menu. Lively atmosphere with good music and a great view of the ocean. Highly recommend this place to anyone that stops by

This is one of the best spots to watch the(World Famous) Sunsets. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!!! It’s a nice clean restaurant with great food excellent service and I’m told that they mix a great drink also. It’s a good place to watch sports they have plenty of big screen tv’s and lots of pretty waitresses ;) A nice place to meet your friends and family. It’s also indoor/outdoor bar & restaurant with nightly live music that all will enjoy young and old. ENJOY:))

Decent atmosphere, ok food decent sushi. We had fish fry and the fish seemed a bit soggy like it was sitting under a lamp for a while. Sushi rolls were surprisingly good. Considering this place has a mix of all sorts of foods they didn’t do too bad. Hostess seemed a little confused and was having a hard time managing flow of people. That was annoying. I’d come back here with low expectations next time and perhaps be surprised.

Ordered the Captains Fried Platter, Fried Shrimp Platter, and 12 raw oysters. Oysters were on the skimpy side, and the cocktail sauce was very runny. Cocktail sauce was bland/runny for all portions of meal. Combo Platter had ample portions, just nothing wowed my taste buds. Had side order of red beans and rice which were flavorful. Wife had the beer battered shrimp, which were above average. The views were spectacular, but I wanted the food to stand up on its own, not rely on scenic views to complete the experience. I would go back, but not until I reviewed most other seafood places in the area. *Note* the fish sandwiches and pizza looked really good. Good service.

Ducked in for some drinks and a meal with the remaining family after a tough day dealing with funeral arrangements and it was a fine time, here’s why: * Waterfront with a great view, just West of US41 * Great place to watch the sunset across Charlotte Harbour * Good food with too much variety to choose from * Hottie servers, Meow. * Live Music, and I enjoyed the band, and I don’t always. * Multi-generational crowd of all ages eating and dancing and having fun. * Indoor and Outdoor seating It was very hot outside. Especially since the fans above us were not working. FAIL. Lookout for that 5th Star once the fans are working. :-) I enjoyed seared Tuna with Asparagus(see photo) and it was very good. It could’ve been a tad less-seasoned, but I forgive them. The place also has sushi and rolls, and the table of 3 women next to us were loudly enjoying their rolls, so next time I’m rolling. The place is part of a hotel. So you have park in hotel parking and walk down a quarter mile long hallway to get to the restaurant, FYI. ‘Til then, Cabeza OUT!
