Had a great meal. Staff was very friendly and curtious. Food was very fresh and served warm. Very nice Sunday night out with the family. Thank you for a great experience.

Made my annual trip to Raleigh and I always hit-up Dickeys. I love Carolina BBQ, but I like to mix in the Texas classic-style. I went with the Westerner Sandwich(Best Value and unbelievably tender Brisket) while my son went with ribs. I stole a couple bones and they melted in my mouth. Store was super-clean and the staff was very friendly. They let me sample a couple of sides and made some recommendations. Finished the meal off with a root beer float in my Yellow cup. I love this place!

I stopped in to redeem my free bday sandwich coupon. The store was clean and welcoming. Not many customers to my surprise being that it was around lunch time. The staff was friendly and helpful. I didn’t feel rushed to place my order and the sandwich was a nice portion size.

Moved to NC a year ago and we have tried many BBQ places. My gf has been asking for a year to try this place. Finally we came and I can’t get over how amazing it was. You walk in through the door and I don’t know who greets you first the amazing aroma of smoked meats or the friendly staff. For the price you pay you get a decent amount of food. The ribs just fall off the bone, so tender. Many choices in meats and sides. The food presentation is good. The service is amazing. The best part aside from the food is they have free ice cream. It’s soft served and so creamy. Like the ribs and brisket, the ice cream is heavenly. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his wife. Very attentive and super friendly. I can’t wait to come back!

Just not good food. My rib plate was tasteless and rubbery. Lots of fat less meat. Green beans were flat in texture and taste. Creamy coleslaw wasn’t creamy. Roll was tasteless. Tried my husbands Mac and cheese– not impressed. He did enjoy the okra. I’m usually easy to please and can find something good about a meal. Not here not today. Service was fair but not good. Place was clean. So disappointed because there was an excellent BBQ place in Heritage but we discovered today that they are no longer in business. Came here as plan B. Will not return.

Never again, as previous reviews stated very disorganized, while waiting in line the head lady yells out there are no more ribs, they won’t be ready for 20 minutes, the fellow in front of us immediately steps out of line and leaves, we should have too, 5 minutes later she comes from the back with a stack of ribs, wrapped in Saran Wrap. I order still not putting 2&2 together until my husband and I begin to eat. Microwave, the slow smoked ribs have been microwaved. They are greasy, fatty and rubbery never will I go to this store, the one on Glenwood yes, but take my advice, stay away from here!

Pretty terrible… took 40 mins to order… they were out of almost everything… then they mixed up the lady’s order ahead of me, she put her hand on the sandwich and said«i didn’t order this,» they proceeded to take it back and serve the«touched on by dirty fingers» sandwich to me…

Craving BBQ, we gave Dickey’s a try. Our first impression was that the ordering system is a mess. The rope area directs you to the cashier, but your order is taken at the other end of the line. It definitely slowed things down and caused the staff to keep asking each other who ordered what. Make no mistake; this is a fast food franchise. While they advertise that the meats are cooked all night, there were bags of frozen hushpuppies and other sides on the back counter. Perhaps, maybe, the meats are cooked on location, I can’t say, but the sides are definitely mass produced somewhere else. We ordered two plates, one with ribs, mac & cheese and waffle fries and the other with two meats; turkey, chicken plus green beans with bacon and mac & cheese. The plates also come with a roll or hushpuppies. The ribs were fall of the bone tender. Likewise, the chicken and turkey were both tender and full of smoky goodness. The mac & cheese was a basic Velveeta style and the green beans were overcooked and soggy. One thing we loved, the BBQ sauces are served warm. Having said all that, we would go back. It is a solid fast food option; it’s quick, inexpensive and comfortable in the dining room.

All the good of a fast food place and all the great eatin’ of a BBQ joint. I love that the sauces are hot and you self serve. Great little place here. Brisket is my favorite and I also love the smoked turkey. Skip the deep fried items. They take forever for some reason. I’ve ordered them 3 times and I’ve yet to get them brought out to us. I just order other sides now. Good thing is that there are many to choose from. Great place. Highly recommend it.

Something about seeing their BBQ being pulled from a ball of plastic wrap did not seem appealing to me. Service was extremely slow, flies were everywhere, and food was sub par. Seemed like all their sides were simply prepackaged only to be warmed in the restaurant before serving. Save your money and go somewhere else.

It’s hard to justify a review on a restaurant I didn’t eat at, but that’s only because I walked out after a number of issues before even ordering my food. For starters, I walked in and kept seeing a young girl walking back & forth between the register & the back of the restaurant. After almost 10 minutes of standing there, no one had taken my order yet despite this girl coming up front again & again. Finally, a woman on a phone hurriedly walked up front trying to fulfill another lady’s order who had been standing there longer than I had. The employee was on the phone loudly yelling at someone, I can only guess employees. She yelled to the person on the phone, «Get your butts in here. I’m not kidding. I’m serious. Get in here. NOW!» She then left & headed AGAIN to the back, finally returning with the waiting lady’s to-go order, which she informed the employee was missing the sauce and an order of coleslaw. Meanwhile, a couple of minutes later, after the line has grown from just me to 5 or 6 people, a couple of employees casually saunter in, the gentleman dons his gloves & asks if he can take my order. As I approach him, a male with his family at a table in the dining room stands up and loudly & angrily yells at the male employee(before I can even get my order out of my mouth), «HEY! We are STILL waiting for our order. There’s no ice in the machine and the food we DO have, well the meat is cold!» The employee asks him what his order is and the customer says, «At this point, I don’t even remember!» clearly frustrated over the wait and food quality. Based on the frustrated customer’s statements, and remembering that another Unilocaler said their food was cold, too, I figured it was time to hit the dusty trail in search of another BBQ restaurant which, in North Carolina, seem to be omnipresent. I looked at the employee and said, «You guys are clearly overwhelmed,» as I turned and walked out. As I was walking out, the frustrated customer from the dining room is telling everyone else in line, «You should really reconsider.» While the food may be amazing(keeping in mind I went HERE because of the reviews from other Unilocalers), it’s hard to determine that if in nearly 15 minutes in a restaurant you can’t even get to the point where you can even place your order, much less try their food.

We really enjoy the BBQ smokehouse restaurant, you go through a line and order your food. They have a lot of options! We have tried several of the meats and sides and have loved everything. Large portions! The employee’s are always helpful, courteous, and out going!

This is the third time we’ve eaten there. We went today(Sunday) because kids eat free. Otherwise we’re spending about $ 35 for a family of 4 — a bit pricey for lunch. It’s so disorganized in there. You order, then the next person asks you again what your sides are, that 2nd person is again yelling«fries down» to the cook, then«no, cancel» because the 1st person already called it back! Three times I was asked what my 2nd side was. I didn’t order a 2nd side. It was just so much confusion for the staff. My husband was asked 3 times what his sides were too. They can’t seem to get it together. About the food: My husband and son said the meat was cold, the tea dispenser that was clearly labeled«Sweet» was not so I had to go back, dump it out and get tea from one of the other dispensers. My husband ordered ham and they put sauce on it but he didn’t request that. Cleanliness: Not very clean. The rugs that are on the floor in the drink area hadn’t been vacuumed. A lot of garbage on the floor, napkins and things. It’s a shame because the place has potential. The pulled pork sandwich is very tasty but for the above reasons, we won’t be going back. To compare value to Smithfield’s, we typically spend about $ 24 for two adult and two kid’s meals and it’s organized, number given at time of order, food carried to your table, drink refills throughout meal and it’s always good food.

Best food in town. Smithfield’s can’t hold a candle to this place. Friendly staff along with free samples during busy periods.
