The food is amazing. Service can sometimes be slow. My main complaint is they keep raising their price on their specialty coffee drinks. The mocha was $ 4.50 about 6 months ago and then they increased it to $ 5.50. I thought that was too high, however, i love it so i continued to get it. I came today and they charge $ 6.50! How ridiculous is that? I will no longer buy it and it may affect my choice in even coming here again.

Just visited Simply Crepes today with some friends and I’m pretty glad that I gave it a shot. The crepes and cappuccinos were pretty good, the atmosphere was nice and the Oatmeal Crème Brûlée was FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC. So as far as the Crepes go, I ordered a Chicken Tarragon Crêpe. Mine was a bit lacking when it came to the sauce(at least compared to my friends Chicken Tarragon) and was very low on chicken. That being said, it was still very tasty and I’d probably order it again if I decide to come back and visit. The other crepes available just didn’t sound all that great to me. Now the atmosphere was unexpected. It definitely had a much more upscale feel to it than I was anticipating. Everyone was dressed in their Sunday best. I did receive a few odd looks when I arrived in my «Just getting back from a beach vacation» attire. There was also a 20 — 25 minute wait. My absolute favorite part of the entire experience was the Oatmeal Crème Brûlée. I was a bit disappointed in the presentation of it when I first got it. I had seen some pictures here on Unilocal and was expecting more fruit pieces on it and it to look a little darker in color like a normal crème brûlée would, but the taste more than made up for it. I don’t normally like oatmeal, but I completely devoured everything in what felt like less than two minutes. I may stop by tomorrow for breakfast and grab me another one… or two. Simply Crepes is one of those places you gotta go to yourself to find out whether you’ll like it or not. I did overhear some people say that they were very dissatisfied with their meal or service, but personally, I felt pretty decent about it. If you don’t mind potentially waiting around for a little bit, I would suggest taking a look inside. If anything you can always take some of that delicious Crème Brûlée to go!

Delicious crêpes, good service. They lost 1 star for not having skim milk for my coffee :(

The two other times I have been to Simply Crepes I have loved it. This time was a little different. I went with my sister and we sat down outside at 8pm. There was a large group sitting outside but they all had their checks in front of them so I’m assuming they already paid and were just hanging out to chat. Our waiter came to greet us and I asked about the wine special that was listed on a big sign at the door but he said he didn’t know and that it was only his second day. He went to go get us our waters and was supposed to ask what the wine special was. He came back with our drinks and I asked if he asked about the wine special but he didn’t. So he had to go back in and ask then came back and confirmed it was ½ price glasses and bottles of wine. So we ordered a glass of wine so he had to go BACK in and get the wine. When he came back we ordered two crepes. That was around 815. Around 840 he came and said our food would be out in a minute and sorry for the delay. So we sat patiently and waited. At 855 I finally went inside to check on what the hold up was. At that time there was no patrons in the restaurant and as stated before we were the only people outside waiting on our food. They said they would check on the food. Finally at 905 our food came out. The saving grace was that the Mediterranean crêpe and the grilled buffalo chicken crêpe were quite tasty. We did enjoy the food but probably would have gone else where if we realized it would be close to 10 when we were finally done. Hopefully this was just a one off situation. I am not sure if our waiter forgot to put the order in or what happened, but it definitely should not have taken so long since there was no one there.

Been here several times and the food is always excellent! I took a friend this past week for lunch and the menu did not disappoint. I opted for the Steak and Cheese Crêpe and my friend the Curry Chicken and house salad. Food was fresh, made to order and great presentation. Service is a little slower then normal. We arrived just after the linch rush and there were maybe 4 tables seated. I watched my friends salad sit in the window for almost 10 minuets before our server grabbed it and delivered with meal. «Sorry the kitchen made a mistake.» Ah they have a fairly open kitchen and I saw you standing at stand chatting away. Not a huge deal salad and meal arrived together-/no need for lies. «Can I get you any thing else?» «Actually yes, I would love a lemonade, mustard, and if you have a chance silverware would be great.» «No problem… Be right back». …Yup, you guessed it, her return trip back was 15 minuets later with our bill, including lemonade. Luckily I was able to wrangle some silverware off of the server station and eat. I asked for a box and an adjustment but got to the point, of tardiness after waiting for her to come back. She left the box and I left cash explaining that once the lemonade was removed this would cover a 20% tip. She sort of understood, thanked us and walked away. Short tipping was not an option she tried to redeem at the end and I don’t know the whole circumstance. She greeted us quickly when we arrived and out food was great. I go here a lot, food and service are always great. After peak times the staff may just be slim. Absolutely worth a try!

Good savory entrée options but I thought they were pretty pricey for crepes. I had the Roasted Turkey and Smoked Gouda crêpe(which was the largest of all crepes on the table… all the other plates looked quite small), and it tasted like a nice mixed greens salad with crêpe, shredded cheese, and some chopped turkey. A tasty and light meal but nothing mindblowing. I’d try it again for the sweet crepes but i wouldn’t be raving to go back for brunch/lunch. The free cappuccino($ 4.5 value) with Unilocal check-in was definitely a nice touch though!

Not a great — experience. We went for Sunday brunch and told there was a 30 minute wait. No problem. No real seating area so we went outside. After a while we decided to come in to their coffee bar and grab a coffee while we waited. Then watched people who came after us get seated so we checked with the hostess — they had removed our names even though we said we would wait. Ok, whatever, they sat us. Someone came over and quickly said«I’m not your waiter, your waitress is busy „doing something else“ but I can take your order». Uhhhh — ok — so we quickly ordered some savory crepes and bloody marys. The absolute worst drink of my life. It was literally just tomato juice and a splash of vodka. No seasonings or mixes. Food was just eh. Pretty bland and nothing I would order again. When the check came we saw the waiter charged us for our coffees that we already paid for at the coffee bar(they even serve them in different cups to avoid confusion). The whole experience was just annoying and not pleasant.

My husband has been talking about this place forever. So on our last day in Raleigh we went in for lunch. Its situated in a really cute store complex. The place itself is really nice and cozy. We ordered the salmon crêpe and seafood crêpe. The seafood one had too much sauce which I didnt enjoy as much. My husband loved his salmon one. We then got the strawberry crêpe which was spectacular and husband the nutella one which was pretty good too. Would recommend this place highly for sweet crepes.

I love a good crêpe, but this place is simply not where I’d go to get them. I was torn between two crêpe options and asked the waiter for guidance. He couldn’t tell me anything beyond that both options I’d selected were«popular,» and that the salmon option tasted like sushi.(A crêpe that tastes like sushi? Gross.) I ended up choosing the Simply Strawberry, and my bf chose the Benedict. My crepes came out super cold, which was disappointingly not advertised on the menu(although for some entrees it is???). My bf’s dish was basically a bowl of super thick hollandaise, with his crêpe in the middle and his egg too well-done. He also ordered the cappuccino, which tasted burnt; he could not finish it. Also worth noting is that the plates were in terrible shape, discolored to the point of looking perpetually dirty; I would be embarrassed to bring others here. The«cherry» on top was when I asked for the check, and I gave my card… and yet still had the check returned to my bf on the opposite corner of the table — all by the same waiter. Come on.

My friends are a huge fan of this place so we keep coming back. I’ve since noticed that they really have a unique variety of crepes. I am not totally sold for the savory crepes but the sweet crepes are amazing. The service has generally been decent so I was surprised on how much of a turn it took on my last visit. We came at prime brunch time(as we typically do) so it was busy but I have never encountered such horrible service from any waitress. After sharing my experience with friends and coworkers, they were not surprised so it seems that they may not have the best reputation when it comes to customer service. I am really confused on what to think of this place now. We will see how future visits go and I can adjust my rating accordingly, if needed. The crêpe was still delicious so the cooks are doing a fantastic job despite it being so busy.

What a cute little place at Lafayette Village. It’s a perfect restaurant for this scrumptious shopping center. I came with a very large group to treat ourselves for some crepes. It was not busy on a Friday night, probably more popular in the morning. Our waitress was amazing, keeping good track of all our drink and food orders despite us moving around to socialize. I had a glass of house white, which was a Chardonnay. Very good taste, easy to drink and only $ 6 a glass. The crêpe I ordered was Pomme Brie: apples, Brie, caramelized onions, ham. Was delicious, but the crêpe itself a bit dry. Many noticed the same, but it didn’t take away from the flavor. The savory crepes are only around $ 12 a piece, but it’s a good amount of food. I’ll definitely be back to try others.

I thought I’d have a better experience because *crepes*! so trendy, so french, etc. But this was a letdown. To me, crepes are a filling, yet light meal. Stuffing it with cheese and drowning it in gravy just defeats the purpose to me. I got the crêpe epinards and it was ok. Too much spinach. Boyfriend got the chicken cordon bleu crêpe and it was just so HEAVY. it didn’t look appetizing either. This place is also quite pricey so we didn’t even get a dessert crêpe. So yes, to sum it up, i’m not a fan of the savory menu here. I would like to come again to try said dessert crepes and see how those are. Maybe the sweet crepes are what keeps this place popular.

We went to Simply Crepes for brunch our last day in Raleigh, Sunday, 9÷22÷15 around 11 a.m. Worth the trip to Lafayette Village — the whole little area is absolutely adorable(but a lot of stuff wasn’t open early Sunday for shopping). Simply crepes was good, go for something sweet. Our only problem wasn’t with the server being slow, she was great, but the Barista was incredibly slow. Took forever for my friend to get her Chai Latte and when our food came I decided I wanted a cappuccino. By the time I got it, we were ready to leave. Other than that, I would recommend it!

The ambiance is the best part of Simply Crepes in my opinion. Crepes are fine, but with it being our first crêpe experience, I’d say we’ll stick with pancakes. We ordered dessert crepes in the petite portion size, and while they were good, they didn’t really knock our socks off to the point where we’d go out of our way to return for them again. They are thin, not too sweet for the crêpe itself, and they have the option of ordering a gluten free crêpe if you prefer. We only tried the dessert crepes, so I’m not sure about the brunch style crepes, although they definitely looked huge. Bring your appetite if you are ordering the regular size option on any of the crêpe orders. We noticed that everyone eating there seemed to be taking home a portion of their meal afterward. I think we mainly enjoyed the décor of the restaurant, and Lafayette Village itself. Parking is a bit of an issue. It looks as if there is enough parking for the village, but when you get right down to it, we noticed that several cars were looping around in circles trying to find a spot. Essentially it isn’t that big of a shopping center(and I use the term shopping center loosely), since we mainly found a bunch of restaurants, and only a few actual retail stores. With that being said though, Lafayette Village is beautiful. It has a bit of a «Disney-esque» appeal to it, with the carefully detailed building architecture style, and the European feel, complete with a mini Eiffel Tower that stands around 15 feet tall, give or take a few feet. It is very beautiful. Simply Crepes is a beautiful restaurant, and the wait staff seem friendly enough. Although, when we ordered a soda with our meal, it never arrived. The waiter did offer to remove the price for the drink off of our bill, with the option of still taking a to-go cup of the drink with us, so it was nice of them to do that. I’m not sure we would return again to Simply Crepes, but the village itself is a place we will be back to in order to try out a few of the other restaurants there.

The waitress was super sweet and super helpful as it was my fiances first time getting crepes. The menu is really diverse with a little something for everyone! Not only are the entrees really delicious but they are really filling! I got the Mediterranean chicken crêpe while my man got the junior sized rugby crêpe. Though his looked smaller than mine it certainly packed a punch in flavor and it was a lot more food than we both would have thought! Note, a free cappuccino comes with a check in on Unilocal :) Also our portions were so huge that we didn’t have room for dessert. But this isn’t my First time here and I can say that the desserts are the BEST. If you have a sweet tooth and you have never tried crepes, this is the place to go! We came at an off hour when the place was near empty but that just guaranteed the best service. Her name was Carly and she was bomb. Also, if you like some good juice, they’ve got some pretty tasty and yummy options for squeezed natural juice!

One word: inconsistent. The first time I came here was for a bridal shower. Management was kind enough to curtain off an area without much notice because it was during off-peak hours. They even let us decorate the area, as long as we cleaned up after ourselves. The check-in gives you a free cappuccino, so about half of my group got this treat. Or trick? All of the cappuccinos were different: some were too milky, some were too foamy, some were too watery, etc. None were just right. Another catch to this check-in«treat» was that the waiter added this«free cappuccino» to the gratuity total. I don’t know if the bitter aftertaste came from the cappuccino or the unexpected charge. Onto the actual dish: the mediterranean chicken crêpe. My oh my, was it LARGE. I was glad that they were generous with their ingredients, though I wish they had been just as generous with the meat. My entrée was great and I would probably have given this place three stars, despite the rude waiter and unfortunate cappuccino. BUT my sister’s entrée was sad. She got the philly cheese steak crêpe. It was great when I tasted it. And then she found a large piece of metal hidden in her food. It looked like aluminum? Whatever it was, it shouldn’t have been there.

Simply crepes is simply delicious! Went for breakfast on Sunday. seated promptly. Opted for outside seating as it was a gorgeous morning and my daughter loved the view of courtyard. While my family was hungry and eager to try the crepes, since that is what the place is named for. I opted for oatmeal. but not just any oatmeal. crème Brulee oatmeal. I was going to get the cup .but waitress advised that I should try the bowl. So glad I did because it was so good that everyone wanted to try mine. Is it breakfast. is it dessert or a unique Mashup of both. You decide! It was not overly sweet. perfectly balanced. And now my favorite whenever I want elevated oatmeal. Treat yourself. so glad I did!

Excellent crepes, very good coffe, crappy service. This place has a broad selection of both sweet and savory crepes. Everything I’ve tried here had been good. The apple cinnamon crêpe is my favorite. Sadly, I’ve had bad experiences here when it comes to service. They’re very slow even when the place isn’t crowded. Oddly, I’ve had better experiences here when I’ve come with big groups but bad ones when I come with just one other person. Maybe they’re more motivated to try when they know they’re getting a big tip? I was here last weekend with a group of 18 and had fine service. Came here alone today and had abysmal service. Today, they burned my crêpe. I ate it anyway because I was starving and had already waited awhile but I did complain to the waitress about it. She pretty much mumbled ‘sorry’ then flitted away quickly. I wasn’t expecting a full refund or anything since I did eat it but a discount or at least a real apology would’ve been nice.
