*Flash* UYE | Happy Korean BBQ Delights @ The Red Alcove

Wonderful way to celebrate a Monday evening with new and old friends. This by invitation only dinner event was put together by Julie (my new Irish «girlfriend») And let me tell you she knows how to throw a party.
We were treated to everything The Red Alcove has to offer and were introduced to the Owner BJ who told us all about his restaurant and some of his other future plans. We sat at a large table that accommodated us all and had two grills with a grill master at each end, Anthony at one and and Lynn at the other. I was right in the middle but got most of my food from Lynn and she was the perfect chef! The meats were cooked to perfection and she explained everything along the way on what she was cooking, how it was marinated etc. The meats were melt in your mouth! We had everything from Beef to Octopus and everything in-​between.
BJ then invited us to see his Karaōke bar next door and we all got a few verses in on various tunes. I had never been to a «private room» type of karaōke and it was a nice experience and with so many options I could see fun nights being had by many here! Great way to hang out with friends and wind down, get funky, hang loose or just chill while you watch your friends get their groove on. I for one had a fabulous evening and it was a pleasure meeting some new friends and seeing some old ones again. This is certainly a fabulous addition to the KP Market food court and I will be back again.

Outstanding experience engineered for us by our Unilocaler buddy Irish Lass and her team of clients at KP International, The Red Alcove and Karaōke Gangnam Style!
And it was great seeing Unilocal friends Coral, Heidi, Irish Lass, Melissa, Raquel, Ronny and Tiffany was an absolutely unexpected pleasure that automatically *combusted* this private party event into an full-​fledged *Flash* UYE!
THE SETUP
What a trifecta of fun!
*KP INTERNATIONAL!
As we shared, the first part was Tiffany’s and my own devising, and that was doing our own grocery shopping at KP International. I mean, how can you honestly come to this side of town and NOT take advantage of the deals at KP? International foods & confections are the rule of the day. And although every trip of mine always ends up in the food court with some Korean BBQ, this particular occasion launched up 1 or 2 rungs on the «awesome-​ladder», because…
*THE RED ALCOVE!
This is where the private party started via invitations from Unilocaler Irish Lass, and her client KP International (along with subsidiary interests The Red Alcove and Karaōke Gangnam Style). So it was a true delight meeting the management and restaurant team of The Red Alcove.
They laid out an incredible spread of Korean BBQ that went through several courses, including:
* Amazing sides of Kimchee, Spicy Pickled Peppers, Ginger Sauce to put grilled meats into, and several raw veggies.
* Delicious fresh salad with a Rasberry Chili Sauce
* A selection of Korean beers, but also a Raspberry Vodka Cocktail that knocked my socks off
* And most of all, the grilled selections that included tri-​tip, flat rib meats, grilled jumbo prawns, octopus, squid, cuttlefish, pork, grilled portabello mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, and many other meats & veggies.
* Other sides sides such as soups and rice balanced out the meals
[I ate so much I think (correction: I’M SURE) I exceeded my caloric intake for this week and so shall not be eating anything else but pureed celery juice with lemon.]
And though this was absolutely fantastic, we were in for some suprises & treats!
* KARAOKE GANGNAM STYLE!
NONE of us had planned on a dessert-​activity of this magnitude! But our hats off to the KP International Management, our friend Irish Lass, her partner in crime Steve, and the gals at «Gangnam», for serving us up a tall order of fun Karaōke!
In addition, I actually had MY favorite drink of the night here, and it was the «Blackberry Rice Cocktail!» I will be back for sure for Karaōke Gangnam Style, but I will especially be back for that Blackberry drink!
The singing was amazing, and it was fun to watch Tiffany, Coral, Irish Lass, Heidi and the others (including myself) belting out the tunes!
THE LOWDOWN
An AMAZING night of Korean delights!

This was a very special invite and I had no clue on The Red Alcove. Walked in KP International Food Court side and it’s right next to Nature Republic.
A table for 12 was set up with salads, dipping sauces and side dishes like kimchi, daikon radish and cucumber kimchi made it complete with a flaming grill on the table. Our Host was Julie with her clients of KP INTL Mr. BJ the owner was there to greet us and explain our menu for the night.
WOW! we started with fruity soju drinks and beer then trays of meat and seafood were brought out. Our servers did a wonderful job cooking and with all the tasting going on we sure filled up with tasty bites of tender meats, seafood like Cuttle Fish oh so tender and good! we ended our evening with Mr. BJ walking us over to KP Karaōke for more drinks and singing.
What A GREAT NIGHT with new friends and familiar faces

The Red Aclove opened just a few months ago. I must say that this whole experience was pretty Spectacular! The owner had personally added his own touches to the sauces that complimented the dishes. My favorite was (jalepeño/​sweet sauce.) I refilled twice! The array of meats, seafood and vegatables was very fresh! We had our own waiter/​cook to assist us in grilling the meal. That is an option if you so choose. After an amazing meal we headed to the Karèoke to a sing off ! How neat is this place?! A waitress brings drinks and you have your own private rooms to be with your friends to sing and drink! In the rooms its a table with a circular wall sofa to fit everyone. Its open till 2am! Come check it out!

Alright — taking part in this exclusive dinner event, our personal chef Anthony was the man. Filet mignon done medium? Check. Grilled baby octopus? Check. Oyster mushrooms? Yes bring it on!
Add on some fantabulous company, and attentive waitstaff who asked if you’d like another O.B. or shoju cocktail and the making of a memorable evening were had.
The finale was the karaōke next door. Let’s just say I’m keeping my day job. But great spot for late night gatherings and if you need to sober up before hitting the road.
