yummy food :) Good Sushi… chef’s good at recommending what you’ll like to try.

Service was great and the waitress’ suggestions were right on point. The bacon wrapped peppers were tasty! The crush roll was good, but there was a little too much cream cheese. The sunrise roll is a must try! It was so fresh and we loved the flavors of lemon and apples that was added to the roll. What was absolutely amazing was the albacore carpaccio and tuna tataki! I will definitely be coming back here.

Nemo is the best bang for buck anywhere. The Eelist and Albacore Galore are amazing sushi rolls! Tons of fish and delicious sauces and toppings. The fried calamari appetizer was also tasty. Happy hour draft beers are $ 3 for Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Shock Top Belgian White. My dad was kind of an asshole complaining about how long it took to get our food(we were rushing to get to a show) but the staff were super polite and gave us excellent service.

We found Nemo on Unilocal for a Christmas dinner with family who live close by on our way south. We were a large group with little ones and we’re greeted by the staff with a warmth that made it feel like home. All before the wonderful sushi that was ordered. The fish as fresh as any we have had. Service was friendly and exellent. Again like we were family. When dinner was completed they quickly cleared the table and we spent a half hour opening Christmas gifts. Never did we feel rushed to leave. When we did leave we were sent off with the safe warmth as when we arrived. The Howard Family will be back.

Excellent service, creative flexible ordering, up beat music, and great football, wrap up this perfect sushi experience. The fish is by chance the best selected in the entire Sacramento region. And the ingredients are choice select, local giving the presentation a unique region flavor. One of Rancho’s favorite kept secrets. Oh, and it’s happy hour all weekend long!

The good: Service was great. Quick and friendly. Good employees. The average: The food was just ok. Not great, not bad just ok. The bad: This place is way overpriced. There is a limited lunch menu for sushi. The sushi was just above grocery store quality. I dont mind paying high prices for great sushi, but this isnt the place.

My friend Todd-O raves about this place, and brought me here for a banker’s lunch($$$). The fish was very fresh and had quite the variety, with selections such as tasty barracuda(kamasu?) and striped bass(suzuki). The poki salad was fairly good sized and Todd-O loves the fried squid legs(ika geso) and fried whole fish(forgot the name, starts with Y). The nigiri rice was a bit dry and hard and fell off the fish as soon as I picked it up, that was my only sour note for the meal. The easy solution is to get the sashimi next time. Also they serve the fish with a special wasabi«chutney» that was very awesome. Next time I’m in Rancho I’ll be back!

Wonderful quality fish. They also make sure to give you large quantities of fish in your roles and the sashimi is to die for. I have been coming here for the 20% off Tue and Thur dinners for 10 years and will continue going.

Yup. It’s just as great as I remembered. Service was so accommodating. Albacore was probably the best ever — even better than Sushi Sam’s in San Mateo. Their maki rolls were great!

Stopped by for a lunch date. The store is clean and the décor is nice. Menu comes with variety of lunch choices. Ordered the sashimi lunch special. The lunch special comes with 7 piece of chef’s choice sashimi, salad and miso soup for $ 12. The fish does not look fresh at all, I took a bite of the tuna and I can’t chew it off. The inter-muscular fascia is too chewy. I have never had experience of Maguro at other stores before. The waitress served me water with straw cover dipped into the water and half way thru I found a piece of the paper in the water.

Nemo Sushi has a new menu as of 10⁄15. Instead of 5 pages. It’s one. And a lot of the rolls that Unilocalers were raving about are no longer available. I came in here to try the Mango Crunch Roll, but they didn’t have it on the menu. When I asked about it, the sushi chef said the menu changed, but he could make it for me. It looked beautiful, but that was about It. It wasn’t great and it was missing the crunch… replaced with cilantro. I love cilantro, but not on my rolls. Spring rolls… yes. Sushi rolls… no. The flavors didn’t blend well and the mango inside the roll wasn’t ripe. Sushi has mild flavors and the cilantro overpowered it. But my son ordered the Eelist. Pricey at $ 15 and it was good. But again, not great. I’ve had better. Service was outstanding and the chef and waitress made sure my son and I were set and enjoying our rolls. I love WASABIHOUSE in Citrus Heights and Taro’s. Their rolls make my salivary glands go on overdrive and I have this notorious habit of comparing them to other sushi spots. And there’s a new sushi spot in Roseville that has reggae music. I think they have DJ’s too in some nights. Sounds super hip already! The name? Matsuyama. I hope I spelled it right, but if you Unilocal it, you’ll find it. My friend Song is the sushi chef and I know he makes superb rolls. I haven’t been there yet, but I will!

I generally don’t review restaurants, but every once in a while there’s an exceptional spot that needs mentioning. Nemo simply has the best sushi and service I’ve experienced in the Sacramento area. If you want crazy, complicated rolls smothered in sauce, look elsewhere. Nemo is all about the quality and value of the food: the best, freshest sashimi you can imagine, perfectly seasoned nigiri, and real wasabi. The plating and creative salads are just gorgeous. The pricing is all very reasonable for sushi, and their lunch specials are a steal. You can just tell these guys love sushi, and they put that love into everything they prepare. The staff are all friendly. Some waitstaff appear inexperienced, so be assertive when you order about what you want and your time limits in case they wander off. Let’s keep this place going and show them some love Rancho Cordova!

Drove into the area on business this afternoon. Wanted an early dinner so I can get enough sleep for a big day tomorrow. Decided to try Nemo Sushi as it was highly rated on Unilocal and it was scorching hot today. Was seated promptly. Service was on point. I got«The Eelist» and some«Spicy Edamame.» I was surprised at the edamame as it came out RED. The edamame talked-the-talk, but couldn’t walk-the-walk. It was definitely a mild spice. The Eelist was delicious. I can’t elaborate on it. Check the images for both items. A real Asian also loves good prices– happy hour all day on the weekends? Score. I got my whole dinner for $ 12.08. Stacey= happy Asian. But then again, a real Asian knows how to use chopsticks… I had to ask for the«trainers”– which they even gave me a couple extra of. YESSS. Stacey= happiest fake Asian. I leave Thursday morning, but I already found where I will be eating dinner until then ;)

I have visited Nemo a few times and have mixed feelings. First time in was on Easter Sunday. Place was empty and we received great service. The sushi Chef came out and talked to us. He gave us an appetizer to clear our pallet and explain each piece of sashimi. Great experience. Second visit we came for happy hour. Place was pretty slow with only about 6 other people in the restaurant. We looked over the menu and asked the server about specials. She told us that the hand rolls were 2 for 10. We were confused because some of the hand rolls were only 4 – 5 regularly and would total up to less than 10… Not much of a happy hour deal. We opted for some rolls. Service this time was poor. I had to ask for more water numerous times. Server barely cracked a smile. Third time we came back it was still pretty slow. We ordered some rolls and we found a fly in our soy sauce. At that point we were pretty disgusted. Again and service was poor. Had to ask for another beer and water. No smile… Barley an apology about the fly. We might try it again in the future but at this point we are pretty grossed out with the place. Maybe after a few months after they rotate their soy sauce out we will come back.

My boyfriend and I love this restaurant! It’s a fabulous hidden gem in Rancho Cordova. Chef Alex makes the most beautiful artistic sashimi plates! He used to be a chef at KRU Sushi but now is head chef here and his plates are stunning! Absolutely worth the time and money to come and enjoy at this awesome restaurant! Chef Alex told us he picks up his fish multiple times a week so he always has the most fresh fish on hand. He admitted he’s very snobby about his purchasing — if the fish he’s looking to buy isn’t fresh enough or high quality enough, he won’t buy it that day. He’d rather not serve it, than serve something under his quality profile. Because of his very particular attitude about freshness and quality of products, I felt compelled to ask Chef Alex about the Uni he had available the first time my boyfriend and I went to Nemo. Now mind you, in the past I’ve had Uni at many different sushi restaurants in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego — some past Uni I’ve had was fantastic, and others(including at a very expensive sushi restaurant with a great view in LA) was absolutely God awful disgusting; so I’ve become VERY picky about my Uni. But Chef Alex assured me he only buys high quality live Uni and serves it fresh(not pre-frozen). So I ordered Uni the first time my boyfriend and I went because Chef Alex had it available that day and OMG! It was the most buttery, wonderful, fabulous tasting Uni!!! And here I thought KRU was the only sushi restaurant in Sacramento worth ordering Uni at. I was SO wrong! Neo Sushi serves extremely high quality Uni! If you’ve ever wanted to try it, rest assured it is seriously awesome! But keep in mind, because Chef Alex is picky about the products he buys, sometimes he doesn’t have Uni in because the quality wasn’t good that day and he refused to serve it. But he did tell my boyfriend and I that if you want something specific, such as Uni and you know you’re going to go to Nemo in advance on a certain day of the week, you can call ahead and request him to order something so he has it on hand when you intend to visit. Fabulous customer service from the head chef! Hands down Nemo Sushi is one of the best sushi restaurants in the Sacramento area and certainly Rancho Cordova’s best kept secret! My boyfriend and I will definitely be going back again and again! Absolutely recommended!

Had the worst experience tonight. Arrived a little past the hour, ordered, and waited more than 30 minutes only to ask the waitress for an update(and refills) and the chef wanted another 5 minutes! Unbelievable! I’m sure he was just going to start our rolls when we asked. It was 2 rolls, neither of them baked and we were the only table seated. There can’t be a reasonable explanation. Just a chef who didn’t seem to care. All he said was«sorry» with a great big smile on our way out. Pretty annoying! This is our second time here(and our last). If I wanted to snack on edamame and sip on soda, I can do that in the comfort of my home. Terrible customer service.

Are you kidding me?! I’ve had this amazing sushi spot in my backyard this whole time?! I went today for lunch, and was back tonight for dinner. Does that say enough? I have dined at sushi restaurants all over California and I’d have to say this place is the best. They have only been open for about four months according to the owner, Mike. So they are off to a very good start! I had the M.J. Special(twice) and fell in love immediately. The quality of the fish was just there, in every bite. Not only that, sushi chef David was very accommodating in me adding things like cream cheese to half of my roll as I wanted. At dinner my partner ordered the King Kong roll. Let me mention he is NOT easy to please when it comes to sushi. He rated the King Kong a 10/10, as well as the Snake Eggs appetizer. Every single chef behind the counter has a wonderfully friendly, welcoming attitude. It’s no surprise that great attitude comes out in the food! I do wish Nemo was somewhere in the greater Sacramento area, where they would get the true exposure they deserve. But I am here to get the word out that sushi lovers out there must run, not walk, over to Nemo! You can thank me later. ;)

We found Nemo. on top of our sushi rolls! Came here for my birthday dinner. On Wednesdays, all of their $ 10 rolls are $ 8 instead, so we decided to order from those. The $ 10 rolls ranged from the usual rainbow and caterpillar rolls to specialty creations such as the Red Dragon and Crunch Dragon. We were a little disappointed to find that there wasn’t a larger selection of discounted rolls, but it was fine since we hadn’t tried anything from here before. I ordered the Mango Crunch and caterpillar rolls, while the boyfriend ordered a rainbow roll and a shoyu ramen, since it was the same price as a roll($ 8). The shoyu ramen was a little bit of a disappointment, not having much shoyu flavor… or flavor period. However, upon adding more soy sauce ourselves, the broth improved a lot, and the portion was decent for the price. I wasn’t particularly crazy about the rainbow nor caterpillar rolls; neither was anything special, and the caterpillar barely had any unagi/eel. However, the redeeming factor for this place was the MANGOCRUNCHROLL, consisting of spicy crab, salmon, mango, unagi sauce, and spicy mayo with tempura flakes! Mmm mmm good. Great flavor and texture. Definitely my favorite out of everything we ordered. Service was good and attentive. Waitresses were always smiling and would come by often to both clear our dishes and refill our waters. As they say, a little bit goes a long way! Overall, a nice addition to the minimal sushi scene in Rancho. I would stick to ordering sushi, specifically specialty rolls, in the future, but would definitely come back again to check out the rest of their weekly specials/discounts!
