This place never disappoints, as it’s always fantastic each time. While they have cioppino on the menu, I get a similar dish on their special paper menu, as I like it a bit better… so good. I ask them to add linguine pasta to it. My wife typically gets some fettuccine primavera and adds chicken, also very good.

Service was good, food was less than average. The bruschetta bread was burned so that’s all I tasted. The chicken in my chicken piccata was way overcooked, almost like boot leather. I walked out of the restaurant with my clothes smelling like char as that was the only smell coming from the kitchen. Did not meet expectations.

Not enough napkins on table so we grabbed some off the neighboring empty table which made the hostess huffy with us. No bread served. Had what the waitress recommended which was ok but the flavor is still stuck to the inside of my mouth and I can’t get rid of it. Tried my friends lasagna WAY too sweet of a sauce I’m almost sure it was Ragu. Skip the high prices and go to Olive Garden.

Went with a large party of relatives on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly, immediately asked for a drink order. Service was good. Food was better than expected(We are from New York so don’t take that the wrong way). One minor issue;I asked for a glass of Chianti, waitress brought a glass with less than an inch, said that was all they had. I asked for a Merlot, it was brought. I was charged for both. Minor issue but I thought the Chianti should have been comped. Would recommend.

Very disappointing experience. one in our party was informed 30 minutes after we ordered that her order of duck was no longer available. She reordered sea bass and another 30 minute wait. Her meal came later than others and the fish was cold! She gave up and others shared their meal. She was not charged and we were given a discount but we spent two hours, ordered extra drinks while waiting. We complained and were comped for 3 glasses of wine but this Italian restaurant left a bad taste in our mouth!

Love Rapids City and this was one of only a few nice places to choose from for dinner. Our server was from Mexico City brought in as seasonal help, which we have found common in this area. Needless to say, there was a bit of a language barrier. However, she was very friendly and did a good job. We were told that the pizza oven wasn’t working and that they were out of bread, not good news, and almost inexcusable in an Italian restaurant. However, after expressing our displeasure, whalla — garlic bread appeared bug still no luck getting pizza. We split 3 entrees between 4 adults, along with bruschetta(very good) and a Caesar salad and 2 side salads which was plenty. The linguini with spicy red sauce and meatballs was ok — no real heat. The swordfish special was ok also and the chicken piccata was better after adding mushroom and artichoke hearts. We really enjoyed the wine we ordered(super Tuscan) and had 2 bottles. Won’t dream about our meal — but no nightmares either

This is a real Italian restaurant. Up to the quality of what I have experienced in Rome and Florence. Can’t think of anything to add.

Slow service, cold entrée’s. Salmon bruschetta appetizer was amazing. If not for our appetizer, would’ve been a total fail. –the least picky couple ever!

My wife and I were in town for the Sturgis 75th Anniversary and decided to meet up with some local friends. Some I haven’t seen in over 20 years. This restaurant was recommended by one of them and I couldn’t be happier. The service was over the top amazing. The food was soooo good. We eat Italian often and was amazed at the quality and flavor. Such a great time and great place to enjoy great food with amazing friends. Thank you.

Geat food but we received terrible service from one of your wait staff. Last Weds. the 5th. I took friends and parents for dinner. The young lady acted as though she was put out and we were bothering her. She was heavy set with dark hair. I did not catch her name. Once dinner did arrive she never returned until we finished. Another wait person re-filled our water and tea. I can understand if you were busy but that was not the case even up until we left. Some of the worst service I have ever encountered. Her tip reflected the same.

The service was amazing, the food was amazing, the outdoor seating was amazing. Basically this place is amazing! We got 3 courses, and also a bottle of wine and Irish Cream coffee with our shared dessert and the bill was under $ 70. I couldn’t believe it! Luckily on Tuesdays they have ½ bottles of wine(which makes the price compatible to what you would pay at the liquor store). I absolutely love that they have small portions of the dinner, especially when you are traveling this comes in handy. I hate throwing food away. These were the perfect size portions for us, and we left feeling satisfied and not stuffed. I realized about ½ in that I got the wrong dinner(the cannelloni was suppose to be stuffed with chicken and spinach and wasn’t), but it was so good I didn’t even say anything. I recommend this place 110%! I only wish the cars couldn’t park right out front, it would have been cool to see the downtown stage and not just hear the music!

Waited more than two hours to be served. The service was slower than thick molasses; and, when finally served, it was rude. As an example, the waitress did not place a plate in front of each guest, she just handed the dishes out to be passed around. The food was cold and poor to mediocre, at best.

Great food! Great service! I had chicken over pasta with artichoke hearts, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes in a white wine sauce, excellent. My husband had a seafood pasta. Large piceces of seafood in the pasta. He said best ever! Would highly recommend

Will never go back! Tired and hungry from sight seeing that day, we want a hardy meal, bread wine. The place was empty so when the waitress sat us by the door we were a little confused. We had washed and dressed properly, so we asked to be reseated. She sat us by the window. I ordered a chicken and pasta in a red sauce. It was so hot, I couldn’t eat it and I eat jalapeño peppers. She asked how was my dish, I told her horrible, chicken was boiled and sauce was to hot. He took the dish away and never came back until we waved her for the check. Never again!

Wow… should have walked out when our reservation wasn’t in the book. I had called earlier to make a reservation for 6 people at 6:30 and spoke with Emily. Our party got there and it was not in the book. Takes them a few minutes to get a table ready. We sit and I notice the restaurant is in need of an update. We get a bottle of wine and order. The wine is about 10 degrees too warm. The bread is not warm at all. The salad is fine until we all taste something gritty, like sand. We tell the waiter and he’s looking at us like we are crazy. He says he will take off the salad from the bill. We all get our entrees and the food is beyond mediocre. I make better pasta at home. The noodles were not al dente, the sauce too salty, the pizza looks like it was a frozen pizza out of a box. It also took about 25 minutes to get our entrees after our salad was taken away. There is no way in hell we are spending any more time or money here so we ask for the bill. Of course, the salad is still on the bill so we have to wait another 5 minutes for the waiter to take it off the bill. We are tourists in Rapid City so thankfully we will never have to see this place again, but if you have any type of palate, avoid this place. We would have been better off eating at a chain restaurant. I also have lost all respect for Wine Spectator. I can’t believe that they would award this restaurant any type of award. Also am very skeptical of relying on Unilocal or Tripadvisor for restaurant reviews as we’ve been burned a few times based on positive reviews.

Cioppino was the special and someone posted a great photo of it but that’s about it. The clams came out closed, so the waiter took them back to the kitchen to «cook some more since they’re larger than normal». Overall it’s pretty meh… for the price.

Average at best. So my tortellini(tortellini alla panna) were a dried store packaged product. The sauce was ok, but honestly, I could do better in my own kitchen. My spouse’s Pollo Saltimbocca was below average. The chicken looked like pieces of very thick sandwich meat and the sage was hardly noticeable. Our son liked his pizza, but it was a frozen cracker-like crust and after eating an entire«adult» pizza, he said he was still hungry… we left to search for a better experience. But. If you just want some pasta, this will fill your belly.

Stopped here for a Sunday night dinner after touring through the Black Hills. We started off with a Caesar salad. Unfortunately, the dressing for this salad had too much anchovy and actually tasted fishy. Our main meals, however, fared much better. I ordered Tortellini Alla Panna and my companion ordered the Linguine Con Pollo. The tortellini was well cooked and covered with a cream sauce that contained cappacola, peas and mushrooms. The sauce was of the perfect consistency and the cappacola ham that was mixed in added a slight bit of spiciness which made the dish really tasty. The Linguine Con Pollo was also an Alfredo sauce and was topped with pieces of chicken. Both the chicken and pasta were perfectly cooked and delicious. Service here was efficient and polite and the atmosphere relaxing. We did not order wine, but they did have a good sized wine list. Botticelli has been in Rapid City for a long time and, while certainly not up to NYC or Chicago standards, is way ahead of almost any other Italian place in the Upper Midwest!

Stopped by this place while passing through town. Eating options in the area are fairly limited, and since this place was near out hotel, we decided to try it out. The first thing I noticed was that there seems to be a lot of confusion at the front of the house – lots of standing around with staff not sure who greets, seats, and takes payment. Maybe I caught them on an off night. We asked to be seated outside and were the only ones on the patio. We noticed that the ground is slanted away from the restaurant(drainage for storms?), so tables slant too. It felt a bit like a ship that was listing 20 degrees to port. Water and wine almost fell off the table a few times. I’d recommend the staff level the tables, or else you’re asking for problems. Food was good, but nothing special. Because we were seated outside, service took a bit longer, but that’s to be expected. Recommend, but suggest you sit inside.
