VERY disappointed to come in today(Sunday @ 2:50 pm) to find almost nothing in their cases! The gal behind the counter even remarked, «Slim pickens!» They sold out of most everything. Great for them and business owners – not for the customer! I’m gluten intolerant and was so looking forward to enjoying one last treat before I launch a detox. Come on Flying Apron! You’re in Downtown Redmond. Things are beginning to boom business and resident wise down here. Figure out your inventory… please!

What a wonderful experience! Great staff even got complemented on my cologne ;) We’re new to vegan and gluten free dining and were a little leery of actually finding deserts which would be on par with what we normally ate. WEWEREN’T DISAPPOINTED! It was delicious. The gal who was juicing for another customer saw me eyeing the juice and gave me a taste without me asking — you have to try the flying Kermit it was a taste sensation — she was a sweetheart. I highly recommend this restaurant — even if you’re not vegan or gluten free. Its just plain good food.

OMG I love this place! its like a heaven for gluten intolerant people! I am obsessed with their doughnuts, their cake of the day(any day is fabulous) and their bread rolls. it is such a treat knowing that I can enjoy baked goods once in a while like everyone else! And, the staff is super friendly too!

The widest variety of foods you could ask for as a vegan(also gluten free). All sorts of amazing baked treats, breads and cakes as well as hot meals, juices and espresso. The Lasagna tastes better than any lasagna with meat I have ever had in the past and they turned a Broccoli Salad into a dish my carnivore girlfriend said she would eat everyday. The food stop I visit most frequently with quick service and staff that cares about you and what you are putting in your body. Try the Tofu Scramble :)

This is one of the best bakeries I’ve been to, period. The atmosphere is wonderful and homely, the employees are really friendly, and the baked goods are DELICIOUS. I’ve tried the pumpkin pie and the Dutch apple pie so far, and they’re both magnificent. I’m not gluten-free or vegan – so this is an amazing bakery whether you are or not! Will definitely keep coming back.

I always stop by here whenever I’m in the area. Yes! It’s an awesome gluten-free vegan bakery and coffee/tea shop and juice bar. They serve both sweet and savory goodies. I looooove the relaxing and homely atmosphere! There is an eclectic mish mash of older furniture inside. I usually come in and get tea and they do give you tea leaves not the icky bagged stuff and will refill the cup with hot water. They have varying choices of milk for their lattes from organic non-fat or organic whole milk to vegan choices such as hemp, almond, coconut, rice, or soy milks. Their bakery items are delicious! I usually don’t eat foods with refined sugars so their items are the perfect sweetness for me. Their staff is very friendly and I’m always greeted with a smile… excellent customer service! They’re always there to make sure all your questions and needs have been met.

We ordered several items here after we had tried the one in Fremont and were impressed. Unfortunately, not everything worked. I’m not sure if it was this location in particular or the particular items ordered, but a couple of the baked goods were just not tasty at all(we really liked the ones we bought from the Fremont location). There was one ginger cookie in particular that had a really weird flavor. It tasted off, almost spoiled if that is possible. What was good was the vegan lasagna. Quite tasty. We also ordered a kale salad that was okay. But kale salads are pretty easy to make. My husband thought it was overdressed. We may come back for breakfast and give it another chance.

This place is truly awesome. I was sold when I first walked in and you see all the pastries. The staff is PERFECT they were so friendly and helpful. I definitely go here regularly. Would love to see them expand and offer more foods.

I go here every day for lots of reasons: 1. I have Celiac, and it is a DEDICATED gluten free facility. That means zero chance of cross contamination! 2. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. 3. Wifi! 4. Great music playing all the time. 5. 5 Star Card gets you lots of rewards(aka free cookies) My favorites are the lasagna and fruit pies. Can’t even tell they’re gluten-free.

Good food but clear your calendar for the glacier pace service. Over a half hour to reheat a piece of lasagne in the microwave. Won’t be back.

Wow! A vegan bakery and coffee shop! Which is why I was there at opening two days in a row. Similar to Timeless Coffee in Oakland(although they have a stunning cake collection). On my first visit, the woman had trouble with the coffee machine and apologized for the result, although it turned out just great. On the second visit, a different woman made it(almond mocha), and it really didn’t turn out well at all; unfortunately I was in a rush and wasn’t able to get it remade :-( Still, the pastries are awesome, and some great deals in the day old selection. I’m sure I’ll be a regular when I’m in Redmond again.

Rotten quality, literally. Service just as bad. Not much to offer but diabetes and obesity — *NOT* what vegan is about.

It’s so nice to have a vegan, gluten free bakery close by. The ginger cookies are AMAZING as are the juices. We’ve been to both locations but the Redmond location has such friendly staff that we love going back. Can’t wait to try them for breakfast! Now we can go somewhere that the whole family can eat.

The Flying Apron is a unique little restaurant in Redmond that offers vegan, gluten-free dishes, fresh squeezed juice, and hot and cold beverages. Their dishes aren’t bad considering the gluten-free factor with the lasagna being the stand out dish, for me. They’re main dishes are pre-prepared and warmed up, so it’s fast but not made for you on the spot. The coffee is ok but I’ve never felt the need to make the stop to get one more than a couple times. Their desserts are better than their main dishes but are pretty hit-or-miss because of the alternative flour mixtures they use. They have this almond cake sometimes that works out with the rice flour and is, actually, pretty good. The employees are, usually, nice enough but I’ve had experienced with some rudeness. All-together, I guess it says something that I’ve never visited here when not dining with a gluten-free companion but it’s still a cute little place.

Against my better judgement I went in again for one of those yummy looking whoopsie pies. In the afternoon but hours away from closing this time. Guess what? Sold out. This is obviously standard business practice for them. Also, is there a reason it’s so muggy and warm all the time? I thought maybe I hit on an off day before but clearly they are too healthy to use the AC or air out the store even. Yuck. Skip it.

I work close by and often wanted to go in and check it out. My first visit was disappointing and service was not welcoming. One thing I did notice was the lack of fresh baked goods? I decided only to try their coffee because I wasn’t sure how fresh it was because I don’t see much activity when I go by. Second visit new girl at the counter and she was nice but not helpful when I asked about the items available. I tried the key lime pie and it was good but not delicious. Wasn’t sure what made up the crust and when I asked the girl she wasn’t sure. Just lukewarm about this place. Seating area was not very clean either. Not sure if I’ll be back for a third try even if it’s near my work.

Flying apron offers a huge variety of fresh made vegan and gluten free pastries. They also offer yummy deli food like soups and sandwiches. There is not anything negative about this place. I’m praying for a Kirkland location one day.

The outside seating area is gone, either packed up too early to say that it’s gone for the winter, or perhaps permanently removed. Or maybe nothing is permanent around here. They keep changing the location’s hours, trying new things, and not keeping the online information about what their true current hours are up to date. I can’t get used to it. Twice I’ve been embarrassed by planning to meet a date there, only to find we’ve agreed to meet when Flying Apron was already closed. As of October 2014, with 6:00pm and 7:00pm closings on all days of the week, they no longer have ANY evening hours for an after-work coffeedate or time for a decent laid back sit-down dinner there. But I’m not really sure about this, because Unilocal, google and the flying apron website all display DIFFERENT information about when this place is open. I’m disappointed, it reminds me of metro transit in the area: the more you cut the service hours, the less people are able to use it. I never plan to come here anymore, if I happen to be wandering by and they’re open, I consider myself lucky.

I have to preface this review by saying that I am NOT vegan or allergic to gluten or dairy, so I’m rating the fare here as I would any other«normal» or «regular» food. Which may or may not be fair, as perhaps gluten-free foods should be rated differently. But I’m not sure how that type of ranking could or would work, so I’ll stick to rating this cute restaurant/bakery as I would any other. If you come here for ambiance, looking for a casual, make-yourself-at-home type of place, you’ll love it here. It’s like a cozy, intimate kitchen, with games to play(for kids or adults!) and books. Plus, the lady who worked the counter when we visited couldn’t have been any nicer or more pleasant! She was a doll. The food, however, was drier than chipboard. Perhaps that’s to be expected with gluten-free fare. I don’t know. The cookies looked so good that we got two large shortbread-like ones. They were hard and dry. I got a spice-chai cupcake. The icing was tasty, with a chai-clove-like essence(which I liked), but the body of the cupcake itself had a strange non-moist texture. Not dry per se but definitely not moist, and definitely denser than a «normal» cupcake. Hardly light and fluffy or anything that I’d expect from a cupcake. Again, perhaps this is the norm. I just don’t know. The coffee was unexpectedly EXCELLENT. I had a latte which was one of the best lattes I’ve had in a long time. The kids had hot chocolates which also were excellent: not only did they taste amazingly good, but the lady made them beautifully, with designs in the foamed milk on top. Kids even took a photo of them, they were so pretty! We will come back for the hot beverages and the ambiance. But we’ll pass on the foods.
