Love, love, love this place. This little cozy lounge bar is off the beaten path. They have TV’s, separate sitting areas and it’s a great after work place to catch a drink and not have all the crowds of typical annoying bars. Their menu has a varied selection of small bites and for being a smaller bar, have a great selection of spirits to choose from. I think they even have karaōke on some nights, though I have been yet. Did I mention the bartender is the best? Sorry I don’t remember his name– argh!

Vince does the karaōke now he’s taken over for Sam and he does a really great job. Vince is one of my favorite kj’s . If you want too sing a song he’s likely too have it. He does karaōke here every Thursday night . He gets a pretty decent crowd and you still get a really good song rotation. He really works with you too.

Low key, sexy, deep appeal. The bartenders are super friendly and acknowledge you, and are generous when making drinks. Good prices especially for their sangria! That thing is huge and gets a good buzz! 5 stars even though I haven’t tried their food and it’s small in there. But it’s cleAn, their customer service is excellent!(Very polite) and good music! Definetly an older crowd and mature environment!

Very generous in their cocktails, strong, reasonable price, and all top of the line ingredients. Highly recommend. Lovely music(video and audio) and ambience if you looking for an intimate time with someone or night out with a few friends.

This place really needs more business. I first came to this lovely hole in the wall with some coworkers on a Thursday. Wow! Karaōke with a great DJ(Hi Vince!) and wonderful drinks care of Andre. I am addicted to the scene! It’s like a cheers episode every week. Andre is really an alchemist in his nook and if you ever get the chance: ask for one of his creations. I just told him that I was a hard cider girl and he fixed me my favorite mixed drink for the first time. Granted, if you don’t come, I’ll be just as happy to have the run of the place.

Nice vibe, low key, cool drinks. Friendly service. On a weeknight, the place Of Course was pretty laid back and not busy. Bathrooms are clean. Will probably stop by if I’m around the area.

In true lush fashion, I’ve been on the hunt for local bars and clubs in my new area. Luckily 840 Wine Bar showed up as a recommended bar on Unilocal,so I threw on my stilettos and off I went. I’ve had two experiences with this bar thus far, one with the girlfriends, and one with the boo thang. My first visit was on a Wednesday, and there were roughly about 8 other patrons in addition to my group of 4. The place itself is super tiny, and is more long than it is wide. Like most bars, the lights are dim, and their is 1 main bar area with surrounding tables and lounge areas to sit. On a Wednesday night, the music was chill with no one dancing– that is until salsa bellowed on, and my friends decided to dance the night away in true Romy and Michelle fashion. We each had two speciality cocktails and one bottle of champagne. My favorites by far were the espresso martini and cucumber cooler. We were told organic fresh fruit purée is used in all of their speciality drinks, and I literally could taste the difference. They also serve light tapas and small bites. My group and I opted for the cheese platter, which came with speciality cheeses and bread. Fast forward to a Friday night, and WOW, what a change in atmosphere. We walked into a PACKED house, with music videos playing to the latest hits, bottle service, and an eclectic group of peeps. I was in the mood for a minchelada and was happy to see they use clamato, lemon, chile powder, and modelo to make this signature drink. I guzzled it down in addition to a Moscow mule– a very poor choice in alcohol mixture, but delicious non the less. The boo thang and I danced, people watched, and overall had a great time. I love venues where age and general demographics are diverse and let off a positive vibe. 840 definitely caters to their local community in a fun, casual setting. Dress code seemed to be very casual, but there were some fancies in there, so do what makes you happy! Reminder, it’s a small venue, and seating will be limited on a weekend, so wear your dancing shoes!

My partner and I met a few work friends there. He lives within walking distance of this place and goes there often. On this particular visit it was quite empty as we were there at about 5:30 on a weekday, but we brought our fun with us so we still had a blast. There was only one lady working at the bar and she gave us excellent service. She was present and helpful, but also patient with a few of us who maybe had a couple more than they should. We even had a spill that she handled with grace. There was a large selection of specialty drinks and martinis, which I particularly enjoy. It’s a smaller place, but just the right size to make sure you’re not drowned in noise if it’s a busy night. Check it out if you live nearby. It’s a great place to meet a few friends and have some laughs.

The décor was definitely beautiful and classic! The service however was 50⁄50 the waiter/bartender would have a hard time describing the wines and flat out did not know much about white wines at all. Still, the drinks were great!

This is bar is away from downtown on street next to a convenient store. At first it looked a bit shady however, upon walking in it seemed alright. They have a good choice of beer /wine. They also have some cheese etc.

This place is awesome and the owner is super a nice guy. The drinks are delicious! They have a flight of red and white wines for a great price. This place is fun and clean I alway have a blast there. Probably not for folks who dont like to have a good time with music and drinks. It stays open late compared to other places in Redwood City.

This is by far the loudest bar I’ve ever been to; conversation was impossible. There was a live DJ the night I went with blaring music. The music was subpar and loud enough to drive everyone(I do mean everyone) away from the lounge area. The only people in the place were solo folks at the bar who didn’t have a need to hold conversations. Cocktails were mediocre and had to be ordered by pointing – verbal communication was impossible. My date and I finished our drinks quickly and left, never to return.

My friend and I wanted to get out of our respective homes and go have a drink, chat and catch up. We didn’t know where to go… we both found this place on Unilocal and with the reviews decided we should try it. After walking through the slightly disarming door we were both pleasantly surprised. The door tells you«dive bar inside»(which I don’t mind at all — I actually find the dive bars to be more fun and real) but the inside was an eclectic/modern with a nice-casual vibe… the pennant lights were dim but perfect for the ambiance. Drinks– yum! Lemon Drop was not too sweet, just like I like em. The appetizers-we got both the cheese and meat plates– they hit the spot, were tasty and I was a bit impressed at their offerings considering the size and«type» of bar I was expecting. Go there again? Most definitely!!! Try it!

Don’t be fooled by the location of this place. yes, it’s a little out of the way and right next to a liquor store, but hey, at least there’s parking! The inside of this bar/lounge is trendy and cozy. Looks like it was recently remodeled. I came here on a Saturday night with a group of friends and we had a nice time. There weren’t many people there which was surprising, but it was good for me and my group. We sat at a nice table surrounded by comfy chairs and couches, and had an intimate evening to ourselves. Dj was spinning great tunes and the service was wonderful. There’s even a small dance floor for those that feel like dancing. We ordered wine, cocktails and some appetizers which were yummy. Overall a cool place to hang out in Redwood City.

The bar is very small, it is also kinda lonely today. They also have only a very small selection of wines. However the appetizers are very yummy and the service is amazing! Worth coming!

Met the ladies for a happy hour cocktail and wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s not the bar it was 10 years ago. Very nicely appointed inside, lots of comfortable seating choices. Very helpful and friendly bar tender. My Moscow Mule was perfect! $ 9 totally reasonable. It would be nice if they had windows or a glass door. It does feel a bit like a cave or bunker — a very nice cave!

Went here for Happy Hour with my friend. They have a good choice of wines and drinks. I had the cosmopolitan martini for $ 5 and the wings and both were great. My friend had wine which she enjoyed as well. It was a wednesday so wasn’t exactly busy when I was there, but the vibe is great and I would go back!

I think this is a decent bar for the area but the drinks aren’t very strong and the prices are very very high, more expensive than most bars that are in the area. For example a Mojito is $ 10 which is the minimum $ 3 to $ 4 dollars more than any other place. They have improved their menu with the food items over the last year or so and the ambience is mellow. For the price though I will not be coming here anymore.

Nothing special about this bar. We tried the Guava-Rita and the only whiskey cocktail on the menu. Both were a little too sweet for my taste. I was hoping for something a little more creative when I read the other Unilocalers’ reviews. The inside is clean, but not very fancy or cool, pretty simple actually. Two TVs showing different sport channels.
