Bad customer service!!! The Old man waiter turn around taking your orders without saying any words. Giving us the bad attitude, I never experienced that kind of bad customer service.

Looks like it just opened recently. I decided to try out this place because it’s in the plaza right next to my work place and I always look for new places for lunch around work. The place is almost like a Mr. Chau kind of Chinese fast food except the fact that it also provides tempura shrimp, pizza, fish & chips, french fries, ice cream… may I go on? Very odd I’d say. But hey, I came with an open mind, so I stayed and ordered. I came with 2 coworkers. One ordered fried fish with tempura shrimp, the other guy ordered fried calamari and I ordered the beef stew with vegetables. I tasted everyone’s food so I could give a fair review. The shrimp and fish tasted like they were straight from those frozen packs. The calamari was nicely fried with a hint of Chinese seasoning which wasn’t too bad but of course not too impressive either. The beef stew was ok, but again, nothing special. Every dish comes with fried rice as fillers but I was still hungry after eating everything on my plate. Their food is definitely better and not as greasy as places like Mr. Chau or Rick Shaw which isn’t really a compliment anyway. I also find the pricing not that great based on the quality and quantity you get($ 7.50 for frozen fish fillet & frozen tempura!!!) Aren’t places like this suppose to be super cheap?! Next time if i wanted to have lunch close by, I’ll just go for Mar Y Tierra which is right next to Broadway Café.

The co-worker and I had driven by this place a few times and couldn’t tell whether it was a place that had closed down or a place about to open. Well today there was an open sign and we took a detour from what we were going to do and dropped in. I think we should have known better from seeing some of the heating trays of food but we could also see the grill full of fresh chicken being grilled. So we gave it a go. The place is a mish mash of things. They have fried seafood, Chinese food, pizza and some other things. My co-worker went for the grilled BBQ chicken with fried rice and broccoli while I went for a combo pizza and this crazy Chinese pan fried meat pie. The chicken was thought of as average while the fried rice looked more like Mexican rice and was said to be bland and greasy. The meat pie was akin to a potsticker but in a pastry shell instead of the dumpling skin. The pizza had a nice thin crust but the sauce and toppings were bland. It also had hidden zucchini which I hate and celery which was I guess must be the Chinese influence. I’m sorry to say that it’s not much more than a semi fast food joint that deals with too many different cuisines. I think if they change the quality of the ingredients this could be decent but they’re competing with a lot of quick eats in the area and probably will remain that way to stay competitive to the clientele. 2.5 stars.
