Not such a great selection of energy drinks but the alcohol selection is really good. I like the great variety of buzz balls and they have a good selection of lotto here. The Ambiance is nice

This tiny liquor /convenience store is one of the secret treasures of Redwood City. If you want to see what customer service was like 50 years ago in America, then go into the Goldstar Market and let«Mac» the owner(or his wife) wait on you. Mac has a great attitude and always likes to chat it up with his customers. His friendliness and geunine interest in customers makes all the other 7 – 11’s and Stop ‘n Go’s look bad. Mac is originally from the country of Georgia — almost a part of the old Soviet Union. However, his English is perfect(although I have fun throwing him a slang curveball every now and then), and he even speaks basic Spanish with some of his customers. In short, there is no gimmick going on… no drug deals… no stupid assumptions(as in the previous Unilocal letter from 5 years ago written below). People love hanging out next to the store just because of old fashioned good vibes coming from an American who really enjoys his job and his customers. Try out their sandwiches! They’re the best taste and price value going anywhere in Redwood City! If you go in there to buy something, just watch how Mac(or his wife) will look you in the eyes and try to get a smile out of you. It’s his best trademark!

Whoa, this place is a trip. The first time we passed it a hoarde of people were outside seemingly eating lunch. Today we psas it again and there’s a crowd outside. This time however no one is eating anything. After our spicy Mexican lunch we decide to go check out what’s going on. Bunch of people sitting on folding chairs just seemingly loitering in the parking lot. I walk inside and see that they have a deli that makes sandwiches and other than that, it’s a convenience store with your normal items, sodas, beer, beefjerky etc. I pick up a popsicle and when I’m outside my co-worker has made friends with one of the drunk locals. He looks at me and we high tail it out of there. Narcotics. It’s got to be narcotics. Why else would be be «waiting» around here? This must be the Redwood City chapter of the Quick Stop from Clerks.
