Great service and great food my server Heather was really friendly and helped me order the tastiest omelet. My food came out quickly and it was delicious. Definitely the place to eat breakfast! I especially loved the patio and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Would definitely recommended to a friend and I can’t wait to try their dinner next time!

Hour wait for pancakes. Disappointed at the service is an understatement. Won’t be coming back here. Rerated the experience once we reviewed our food an hour and 20 minutes later. It dropped to one star from three. Order was messed up and pancakes were burnt. Paid $ 11 for pancakes, chicken sausage, and a cup of fruit. Only receive pancakes.

Do you want to hangout in a cool place and wait more than a hour for your food? This is the right place! After a hour waiting for pancakes and omelettes, one of our order came wrong, of course. Not tasty at all! It’s a shame because the patio is nice and all, but the service and the quality of the food is bad!

Great patio, good beer selection and the sliders hit the spot. There was also great live Reggae music. Dog friendly patio as well. Tire your pup out at the Redwood agility dog park and head over for a beer.

I would not recommend getting dinner here — slow service, they came back to clarify my order 3x, and the food itself wasn’t very good. However, 3 stars because the location is quite nice. Love the vibe of this place and all the outdoor seating, plus cheap beer. TLDR: just come for drinks, not food

I would have never known about this place if it wasn’t for a Lyft driver that suggested this place. Anyway, decided to support a local business and check it out and this place is way cute! From the outside, it doesn’t look like much– until you walk in and discover the HUGE patio with a bar outside! Whaattttt… Ordered breakfast on a late Saturday morning and discovered it’s an order and sit down joint– which I have no issues with. Decided on the chilaquiles and the wife ordered the 2 egg breakfast with bacon and hash browns. Not bad… I’ve had better chilaquiles but how can you compare to a dish I had in Mexico? I still ate all of my food because it was tasty as did my wife. Next time we’re going to check this place out mid-afternoon and maybe sit outside on a nice sunny day with a couple of beers.

Tucked away and Cute Went for breakfast and the café is very charming. They even have patio seating adjacent a bar that I assume opens up as coffee drinkers switch over to wine. Hipster and cozy! Good prices :) Parking on gravel lot behind restaurant They loose a star because I didn’t enjoy my bobs special sandwich, soggy egg with no flavor. My friend enjoyed her meal though(she got a bagel with lox)

So to start I would say the food here is very good. The chicken picata I ordered was $ 16’s and very tasty. That having been said I feel that this restaurant, during dinner hours, is aimed at people in their mid 40’s that want to feel like their in their early 30’s and drink like their in their 20’s. When I didn’t order an alcoholic beverage the owners disapproval was palpable. While sitting outside to eat, which is the only area a party of 3 or more can sit comfortably, a group of six children were allowed to run without restraint through the dinning area. At denny’s this would be understandable but at a diner that wants to charge $ 75’s for three people’s meals it becomes an unappreciable situation. P. S. If your a train horn enthusiast eat here around 7−8pm. The train comes every 10 mins.

I discovered this charming gem about a month ago since I recently started working close by and I can say I’ve eaten here everyday since. I love spending my my lunch hour here, reading and enjoying the music while consuming their savory meals, from their curry soup to their delicious coffees. They staff is a major reason why I like dinning at Main and Elm, from Rick to Susie, Sandra, Mayra and the Chef, Santos, I believe that’s his name. These guys are A + when it comes to service, I’ve been in hospitality for 15 years and know genuine service when I see it. The courtyard patio area offers great seating with umbrellas. There is a lovely wine bar I have yet to try. There seems to be sufficient parking and ample seating. It really is a gem, I would have never discovered it on my own.

I haven’t been here since it was Main Street Café, but we were close by on a Saturday morning and decided to try it. We all had breakfast/brunch and everything was really tasty. The only reason I’m not giving it a 5 star, is because 3 of us had Eggs Benedict and the eggs were all cooked the same with the yolks hard, like a hard-boiled egg. I’m not sure why or if they always make them like that, but all 3 of us had the same. I always look forward to breaking the yolks and letting them blend in with the Hollandaise, so that was disappointing. It tasted great though, and I will definitely go back again. They also have beers on tap now, and we want to go back and try it in the evening. The live music was really nice too.

Great out off-the-beaten-path spot that allows dogs on their patio! These guys are known for their epic brunches and sun umbrella patio seating on the weekend, but also have a great evening situation going on. Wifi, couches, fire pit, dinner, microbrews, and fairy lights on the trees giving great ambience. You will hear the train go by at night, but it goes by so infrequently in the evenings that I actually like that aspect of the location. It gives the feeling of being out somewhere in the backcountry where it’s only the sound of trains occasionally passing through that you hear. Really chill spot. Love it

It only takes one word to describe this place«Incredible»! The only way I found this place was because of Unilocal, and I’m glad I stopped by here. It seems petty low key, which is probably due to location, but I absolutely adore it. They have a coffee house up front with a bar out back and a patio in between. Each of the places serve a delicious menu which will cover your cravings from dawn until dusk. I’ve been here a couple times and if I could give them more than 5 stars I would. This establishment sets the bar for everything that I look for when I go out. Not only is there food amazing, but they hold on to the values that have been lost long ago by most businesses. They actually care about you, and take the time to talk to you to see that everything is alright. It’s not just about food here, it’s about atmosphere and easy conversation. They make you feel welcome and treat you like a friend which shows that they want you there for more than just your money. I just love how this place makes you feel like you’re meeting an old friend.

My friend and I got brunch here and LOVED it. It is such a cute little place, completely unexpected. The location has good street parking and a lot behind it. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you. It is rather quick! we were extremely surprised. You can order drinks at anytime, but past the patio(which is REALLY cute) is the bar area. They serve your usual breakfast goodies and it was good! I got the steak and eggs and my friend got the chorizo scramble. Service was great and everyone was super friendly. definitely going to be coming back!

Basic options for breakfast/brunch. We ordered an omelet, french toast, a breakfast burrito and a white mocha. The food was mediocre but the coffee was really good. The wait was horrendous for what seemed like a simple enough order. It took about half an hour for us to get our food after our order. We had to pass time by getting a pastry and hot chocolate to tide us over.

I first found out about this place because of my work Christmas party! We had such a good time that I thought I needed to try it for dinner sometime! I’m so so glad we did!!! The service here is great! We just came on a Monday night– it’s so close to downtown red wood city And so much parking!!! It’s a little bit ticked away on elm street but I swear it’s a gem! And a must try! We had the elm burger! And wow for a burger the quality is superb! The bacon is am thick and crispy and delicious! The chipotle mayo inside was a definite plus! We also had the truffle chips and the mini meatball sub! There was nothing mini about the sub! And it was delicious!!! We were seated at the bar area which was awesome! They had a full service bar! They have the whole area nicely decorated and have super comfortable coaches for you and your friends to lounge on to watch a game!!! Really like this place! So if your ever in red wood city and want to try something new close to downtown! This place is a gem!

I really wanted to like this place, but the food left something to be desired. I ordered the mixed veggies, which were flavorless. The vegetables themselves tasted like gas from the grill. The Caesar salad is white packaged lettuce with dressing in a plastic cup.

Came here for brunch after checking out the agility dog park near by. Loved that it was mostly outdoor seating and doggies are more than welcome. The food was pretty good, and the coffee too. All in all, a great experience made even better with great company. Bought a Unilocal deal but did have a bit of an issue redeeming it(the employees didn’t seem to know how to do it) and almost didn’t get to use it. They got it figured out though. Will have to come back and try the beer garden side one day.

Other items on the menu looked extremely tasty, and I can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in town and try something else on the menu.

Beautiful spot and has the feel of a diner but with a homey kick. They have a breakfast and lunch menu that is separate. Their outside seating area is perfect and is nicely decorated with flowers and succulents. Ordered a burger for lunch — the bun was very tasty. Ordered a hot mocha — took about three sips and I thought it tasted odd. Drank half of it. Ended up with an upset stomach after realizing the mocha was made with spoiled milk. It happens!

Rich cup of Joe! Many coffees to select from. Patio is nice. Reasonable prices. Fun place to sit and listen to their outdoor band. In the evening you can have a glass of wine or grab a beer with dinner. Really thoughtful in having kid toys in buckets to occupy littles. Pet friendly too! We were there for bunch & had eggs Benedict. It’s served with tomato, spinach and ham, a side of hash browns and fruit cup. A lot of food! The hollandaise sauce lacked in flavor. Overall not bad but would like to go back for dinner!

The first time i went here I had a pretty good experience. My friend and I took our one year olds. The kids played while we ate generic food, but had a good time. The second lunch was pretty awful. I went to ask for a spoon and the waitress held her finger up in my face and said«I’ll be with you in a minute«we waited about an hour for our food. People were being served who sat 20 min after us. My daughter was getting upset. The third time was for dinner. they definitely are new to dinner. The food was pretty gross. They also treated the kids like they were annoying. Maybe this place isn’t as kid friendly as I thought or as they advertise.

Oh man, came here after frequenting its predecessor, the casual, fun, delicious, and much loved Main Street Café. Outside — the patio has been expanded and outfitted with more furniture, and more upscale seating, but at the same time — eliminating the fun kids play area, and delivering a much more formal feel to what was previously a very casual place. Okay, so as not to make this a comparison with«what used to be,» let’s just go into the current vibe — it’s honestly just generic and looks like every other place on the Peninsula. Nicely painted, nice outdoor seating, a succinct menu with a few omelets, pancakes, and coffee. All-in-all, pretty much as generic as it gets. What’s missing, is any uniqueness(yes, as existed previously) — interesting, delicious, baked goods? Missing. Cool daily specials? Missing. Fun vibe? Missing. Anything that makes this feel not like a food-based version of Starbucks? Missing. Looking around the place on a weekday morning, previously packed with people — now — just emptiness. And with good reason — it’s just another generic place that replaced what used to be a wonderful, delicious gathering spot. Decent, but no longer worth the trip from outside Redwood City. A sad 3 out of 5 stars(or as Unilocal ridiculously gives a 3: A-OK)

Purely for the owner. I respected the previous owners for their amazing coffee… I came with 3 of my friends to your restaurant on Friday. There was an event happening but we had a reservation. I once came a month back for drinks. Firstly ur beer menu is great. But I wanted to give u sincere feedback for our Friday visit. 1 — you have a great ambience. You have to make the best out of it 2 — we ordered 2 beef plates, fish tacos and a vegan tacos. The beef plate and vegan tacos esp falafel was very very salty. Too salty that I couldn’t eat. My friend didn’t want rice so she asked if she could replace rice w salad. So we were charged $ 6 extra for salad. This is ridiculous. I mentioned the server the vegan tacos is so salty. So I ordered the spinach salad. I didn’t want bacon so asked if I can get chicken instead. The spinach salad was so bland. It didn’t have any apples or other ingredients mentioned. Just spinach and no dressing. So now the salad was $ 11 and chicken was $ 6. I would Pay $ 20 for a good salad. This was the worst salad ever. 3– lastly we asked for second round of drinks, few of us got it after 20 mins and my few of us didn’t even get it. The reason am giving u this feedback is I know how tough it is to get a great ambience and run a restaurant. But at the same time you need to have a good quality food. My friend told me ur brunch menu isn’t good as well. I want to come back but I won’t come back unless u change ur chef or make some good updates on your food. Good luck.

Great reboot of one of my favorite breakfast places. Now it does all 3 meals, brought back the cornmeal pancakes from the Roastery but upgraded the lunch and dinner menu. Still has a great outdoor space but now has an awesome bar. Enjoyed the happy hour menu the first time we went. Was sad to see it was not available on the second. Sometimes service is a bit slow but everyone was friendly and attentive. The menu could be broader but what is on it is done well. Pricing is more than fair and the beer and wine selection just wide enough to be fresh. Sliders good not great. Could use something to counter the sweet sauces. Liked the wings that were on the special menu. Would be nice to see them as a regular appetizer. Let’s hope they keep it up and don’t get too busy because I definitely want a table most weekends!

This is my second visit to M & E. My first visit was great. A quiet weekday with good friends. All the appetizers and dishes were a great combination of flavors. The manager and staff were pleasant and friendly. The environment was an interesting combination of lounge, diner, sports bar – all in a casual, good way. That visit would rate a 4, at least. For my second visit, I was in the mood for a burger and was in the area with my dad. A lot of people must like their burgers, since many were ordering them. It was busy on a Friday night; so much so that the waiter offered an appetizer for our long wait. We ordered burgers. Though we weren’t asked, we requested medium-rare. When our burgers arrived, they didn’t look as good as the other ones coming from the kitchen. They must not have been; they were well-done and dry as a bone. It is rare that I cannot eat, less than decent, food. I was really hungry, so I did eat ¾ of mine, but neither my dad nor I could finish it; rather than satisfying our appetites, it made us lose our appetite. The waiter was quite apologetic. He’d comp’d one of the burgers(still charged for one and the cheap appetizer, I’d purposefully chosen). Because I’d had a great experience the first time I was there, I made it a point to show manager the dry burger and politely let him know that if the second visit had been my first, I would not have come back. He went to talk to the kitchen, but I did not get an acknowledgement, after that. I have never been to a restaurant with such disparate experiences. I mark this at two-stars rather than three because of the poor customer interaction from the waiters to the manager for a customer who complained about the food with a smile. It is an out of the way place, that I do not know if I’d go out of the way, again, based on my last experience.

Came in here solo and had a pretty good experience. My steak sandwich was excellent, the sandwich was really good, and the onion rings really stood out as being thick and juicy. I had some great Australian root beer. I’ve been feeling for root beer for a long time and it was really good. The mac and cheese here is really good too. The parking is great. They’ve sure done a lot with the place and the possibilities are endless of all the good times that can go on here. I would have never thought a bar could be put behind what used to be a deli let alone that café. The place is very clean

Quaint spot, hidden gem. Coffee was brewed to perfection and staff was very welcoming! Apparently they are connected to an outside patio area that turns into a bar some nights. Not sure how accurate that is but if I’m ever in the neighborhood again I would check it out. Only three stars given because I did not taste any of the food but the specials DID look good. Also because this was a one time visit couldn’t give another star for consistently good food and service. Definitely check it out!

Ok. I really can’t put into words how AWFUL our breakfast was. I took some pics it was so bad! Bacon looked liked it was freeze dried and then put under a warm lamp. The pancakes were tangy… Www. Even my 5 year old would not eat them. BUTTHECOFFEE was the worst part. The first cup i lured was full of grounds and looked like mud. The second cup looked ok until I poured cream in and the cream curdled. I tried a second time. Same thing. Our friends were with us and he same! $ 35 of nasty. The atmosphere is great. Funky cool outside. Looks industrial but the food is craptastic. They get a star for the décor but that’s it.

My first visit. This place is hidden in an industrial type area, so I had never heard of it. Apparently the front of the restaurant has been there 18 years, but it was taken over by new owners either two weeks ago or one year ago(depending on whom you spoke to!). Also the back bar area is new. The building has a cool layout, and nicely designed on the inside. I really like the open seating outside and the bar in the back. Also love the mug shot corner! The IPA I got was very good, fresh from the tap, it came in a glass mason jar. I also ordered their Mac n Cheese which came in fried rolls or pockets, very creative! The only thing that was unpleasant about this bar/restaurant was the manager named Steve, a large, tall balding man with glasses. For some reason he was very rude, I assume he has a very low stress tolerance, which is not a good trait for a restaurant/bar manager. The place was not busy but there was a benefit being set up in the parking lot. He kept assuming that people from the benefit were using His restaurant and bar, which is odd since some agreement was probably made. He seemed to embrace the role of police officer. He was abrasive and condescending, assuming that I had not spent money and I was trying to get something for free(a water). I really liked the place, I wanted to come back again and invite my friends, but after such shoddy treatment(and bad vibes), I think not. I strongly believe that a team is only as strong as its leader. Sorry to say that the captain of this ship is a mess, not to mention mean.

I guess this is an offshoot of Lutticken’s. Though the menu is different asLutticken’s mainly only has sandos and there are entrees here. I had just eaten though so I was looking for some good caffeine. Got a good chai latte to go. They’ve redone the space from the earlier tenant and the outside yard is pretty cool
