I’ve gone here a handful of times and it’s always been a great experience. The staff is very friendly, and even when it gets busy you aren’t left waiting TOO long, which is definitely a problem at most other sushi places I’ve been to. It’s family friendly, and from my experience, also breastfeeding friendly.

I enjoy eating sushi here. I should say upfront that I don’t know that much about sushi: I only first tried it in my mid-twenties, and I don’t eat it that often. But when I do, I’d like it to be tasty and to seem fancy, fancier than me buying Trader Joe’s sushi. Ijji 2 has delivered whenever I’ve come here, both for lunch and for dinner AYCE. My boyfriend hates fish of all sort, so he is glad that he can get teriyaki here. The AYCE is very reasonably priced. Dinner can get busy, and the servers do the best they can to make sure sushi orders are correct and drinks are refilled. At lunch, when it’s a bit quieter, the service is very personable. The décor is great: black and red and classy. Easy parking! Why five stars? First, the attention to detail in the presentation of the sushi is excellent. Yes, I’d very much like the two scallions on my tuna nigiri to make the shape of a heart! Second, I very much appreciate being able to dine solo, get a booth, and read a book while I eat. Places where that is possible and my server doesn’t look at me funny, are the best.

Yesterday we had AYCE. It was the only thing we had yesterday. This morning we are literally sick to our stomach. We are suspecting the salmon was not fresh because some of the ends were dried up. Now I’m lying in bed wishing I had read the reviews earlier that the fish quality here is not fresh!

I’m super disappointed in my visit today. I came in for lunch and not too surprisingly they were pretty busy; so we had to wait about ten minutes which isn’t too bad. Well their service is pretty great, so my complaint today is the fact that the sushi tasted like it was a day old. We got the crystal shrimp long rolls and a few others with shrimp in them and none of them tasted fresh. I’m super sad because this place use to be my favorite, I feel like their quality has gone way down from what it use to be!

When we got there at 7pm on a Monday night we only had to wait about 10 min for a table of four. They were very quick about getting our drinks and putting in the order for our appetizers. We did not get our appetizers for another 30 minutes. 20 minutes after that(we have almost been there for an hour) we got our first plate of rolls that was missing a roll on it. It was very tasty. We ordered and when it hit 9 pm, we were getting upset. We asked the waiter for our sushi and when we got it 15 minutes later, they were all cold(even the deep fried ones) as if they were in the fridge for an hour. Bad service… I have been back since at a less busy time and it was a whole different experience. We ate all of the food we wanted within an hour. Incredible. I guess you just have to hope you go at a good time!

I have recently developed a deep, deep love for sushi. I don’t know where this came from, or what happened that has made me love it so much, but it’s happened and I love it. The reason I am giving Ijji 3 stars is simply because there seemed to be a lack of communication between the several servers that helped us. We each decided to do AYCE because we were all hungry and it seemed more economical. It was lunch and one server told us that we were allowed to order off of the dinner roll section for AYCE, the other server told us we were not allowed to. Several servers took our appetizer order, but we didn’t get them for about 45 minutes and had to ask for them again. The sushi is good, but a little pricier than other places I have been. However, overall a good experience, and I will probably go back soon.

I enjoy this place so much. It is one of my favorite places in Reno. They always take care of their customers! I usually just let the Chef go for it! The baked mussels are the best in town! Great atmosphere and they have got to the point where they know me.

BADHORRIBLEWORST service!!! I have been to many many sushi restaraunts throughout Reno/Sparks but even as you first walk in the bad service begun already. We waited by the door for at least 5 minutes, showed up at 5pm and the place/parking lot was pretty empty. I don’t see why we couldn’t get their attention. The sushi chefs!!! Had to tell them we were waiting! Next she didn’t even have the energy to walk us and seat us to a table. She pointed to who knows what booth in some corner and we sat ourselves. Above all a bigger party came in 20 minutes after us and got alllll the service and left before us when we were done eating so much sooner. They asked how the bigger party was doing 5 times during our dining and then just walked past ignoring a couple in a booth nearby and us. We were without water for 20 minutes. Done eating for 20 minutes with our plates pushed away and CURRENTLY waiting for them to take a notice or eye contact to order dessert… My date and I are writing this review as we are waiting for our service. We only submitted one sushi sheet and havent been asked since if we needed anything or if we wanted to order more. We have been here for 48 minutes so far and our waitress has completely ignored us. I am pretty sure its the owner who just came up to us just now to see how everything was. AND thats only the service so far. The sushi is not that fresh, mediocre I would say. I order yellowtail and salmon usually and if you are a sushi lover you can tell whats good quality, dry, or fresh. If you want fresh melt in your mouth sushi and good vibe and service I highly recommend Hiroba! Oh and we finally got our icecreams… partially melted :) We got our check and paid when our waitress finally appeared with a plate of sushi that we didn’t order. That was the second time she spoke to us!

As always, Ijji 2 is my favorite Sushi in town, and I haven’t had AYCE Sushi in forever, so when the extra means found their way to our pockets I asked for Ijji sushi, not mention we were celebrating my husband passing his protocol test for work which is one step closer to medic for him!!! So I just had to insist on sushi! Now as you may know… or maybe not if you aren’t a local, Costco has an Ijji special… spend 80 $ and get two $ 50 gift cards for any of their restaurants in town. Awesome deal seeing as how three of us were going, we were treating our guest and one of us was ordering from the steakhouse menu rather than having sushi.(hint.my non sushi eating husband!) We got our cards at Costco and away we went for dinner around 5:30. This was the perfect time because the dinner rush still hadn’t quite started yet and we were able to get three at the bar with no wait! Two AYCE and one Teppanyaki(Hibachi). My hubby got lobster, filet mignon and shrimp. I think it was called Water on the Hill off the Hibachi menu. He shared small bits with us and it was sooo good!!! The waiter who brought it out told us to try the yum yum sauce which was awesome! My dad and I had the AYCE which never disappoints me. Crazy Tuna, Salmon Skin, Baked Mussels which are my favorite and an absolute must try when visiting! Upside down shrimp, quail egg shooters… But it was the King Kong roll that my husband actually liked too! Whenever I can get him to try and like sushi is a successful night in my book! Everyone really enjoyed the food tonight, and as always the service is always great too. Dinner was around 96 $ and with our pre-bought from Costco Ijji Gift cards, we only paid 80 $…plus tip!

After my last visit to Ijji 3, I was apprehensive about going back to an Ijji location. But… we received a gift card to any of their locations, so we went back. This time, to the branch where we had a good experience in the past. We sat in the bar. Our sushi chef was friendly enough, but, I don’t know, I really miss the days when the sushi chefs were more engaged and surprise you with unique creations here and there. This chef was busy, and he has no time for that. His focus was to get those sushi orders out. Not a bad thing, I suppose, but a girl can reminisce, can’t she? Food-wise, we have no complaints. Everything tasted fresh, especially the sake/salmon nigiri. YUM. Tasted like vanilla butter. I will not divulge how much of those I consumed. Service was also good, sometimes a little too good. I swear we were asked if we wanted refills every couple of minutes. It almost got annoying, but if we had to choose, we’d rather have that, than be ignored. Overall, we enjoyed this experience. A thousand percent better than the previous one. We’ll be back!

Came here once for my friend’s birthday dinner and had an amazing time! Although the restaurant was packed, they still managed to get us seated right away! Sushi was presented so decoratively and we were just in awe. Fish was fresh and all at the same temperature.(Sometimes when serving large parties, inexperienced sushi chefs plate the sushi too slow and therefore some rolls would be cold, others warm) Also, everything was brought to our table so fast by the owner of the restaurant! The second time I came here, the service was awfully slow. We literally waited 20 minutes for them to bring in one dish. And they kept messing up our order and never refilled our water. I was very disappointed at the shift of quality in their service from my first and second visit. We went around 2 pm and there weren’t many people. Maybe we will be coming back. Make sure if you are doing AYCE that you order a lot the first time around so you can avoid getting cranky while waiting forever for your food to come.

I’ve lived in Reno 10 years and love sushi, and this is by far my favorite. My boyfriend and I make the drive to go to Ijji every time we want sushi now, because after a while we realized we were just wasting our money at other places. The service is wonderful as well, a very friendly and hardworking staff. I will say though, PLEASESTOPTURNINGOFFTHELIGHTSFORBIRTHDAYSONGS. I almost fell one time in the dark(that’s a law suit waiting to happen in my opinion), plus it is annoying to eat dinner and have the lights go out multiple times. Other guests around my table always agree. Keep the darn lights on.

I have been to every kind of Benny Hanna’s type restaurant and this is by far the best! I live in the bay area and have paid 4 times the amount and have never gotten this great of service. The chef doesn’t just do a quick«pyramid of onions» trick and leave, our chef had multiple alcohol drinking competitions(using his alcohol for free of course) he managed to get everybody(including an older couple) involved in every event and trick he did. The food was unbelievable, the Filet Minion was extremely tender and melted on the tongue, I don’t like seafood, but the chef made point of letting everybody at the table try a little bit of everything(for free of course) and the Tuna and scallops were amazing. If I had a place like this closer to home, I would bring my co workers and friends. Can’t wait to go back!!!

This place was ABSOLUTELYDELISH! I came here for AYCE with a large group and we were served fast & efficiently. Everything’s came out perfect, and at the end of the night I’m pretty sure I ate my weight in raw fish + rice. I will most definitely be recommending this place to all of my friends AND have already been back! I think we tried just about everything on the menu, but the most notable(for me at least) was the Godzilla roll. I’ve had several of these around town, and there’s always several different variations of tempura rolls and how they’re fried. But ijji 2 fried their rolls with perfection. Also, their mussels appetizer was a first for me, as I’m not much of a fan of mussels. With the extra sauce on top, I was able to enjoy the mussel in a smothered fashion. Full disclosure: I downed a hole platter(5 mussels) by myself. I was pleasantly shocked! I can’t wait to take my friends and family here to try their hibachi option!

When one visits many sushi places in Reno, the menus start to blend together. Ijji falls squarely in the category of Reno AYCE sushi, with most of the menu items the same as you’ll find in several other places around town. The sushi is solid, but when there are so many other places to get the same thing, the other details come into sharp focus. Here are some of things I noticed about Ijji 2: It is CONVENIENT. Located in a big centralized shopping center with tons of parking, it will never be hard to get in. Also, their HUGE dining room and ultra-long sushi bar means that you will also probably never have to wait to be seated. Personally, this is not a huge bonus for me… I LIKE small sushi places where a few tables compete for space with a long, round bar. To me, Ijji 2 seems more like a sushi FACTORY than a sushi bar. The«salad bar» where guests can help themselves to edamame and cucumber salad is a nice touch but really something I don’t need; I’d rather have just a small bowl well prepared. So for those people who just want to get in quickly and get to eating, this is a great place, but for those who like an intimate sushi experience, go elsewhere. That said, our chef was friendly enough. Not so much as to really make the whole experience memorable, but he certainly never ignored us. The server was also efficient and polite. Overall, «efficiency» really seems to be the vibe I get here; everything was done to an adequate level, but nothing stuck out to me as particularly outstanding. I would certainly be willing to return if this is where a friend or colleague wanted to eat, but I don’t know if I would ever choose to eat here again on my own, unless it is to try the teppanyaki.

At 6’3″ and some extra LBs, I’m a big guy. But the booth they put us in probably could have fit another one of me on my lap in order to comfortably reach the table. It’s like they wanted to be even with the wall and got to the end of installing their booths and were like, meh… what’s an extra 2 feet?! The service was pretty quick. The lunch menu is a bit limited. For someone who isn’t a big fan of uncooked sushi, there were only 2 rolls I really enjoy. I do enjoy them for dinner and will likely be back. Next time, I’ll be sure to avoid the XXXL booth!

As far as AYCE sushi quality goes, this spot is just okaaaaaaaay. I’ve been told by locals that this is THEPLACE to go. Well, I guess I’m a snob because I wasn’t too impressed. I did enjoy the huge variety on their AYCE menu. The sushi felt a bit rushed to me. Over done rice, and a little too much rice. Such is the case with AYCE sushi sometimes. This restaurant is huuuuuge and does have great service though! I prefer another AYCE spot over this one.

This is a second superior dining experience at this restaurant. The Rainbow sushi is excellent as are: Godzilla, a flavorful tempura sushi, Asian Cajun, that has just the right amount of spice and, Fiesta, a unique blend of Asian/Mexican ingredients. I also tried the plum wine, I’ve had better, try something else. Green tea, green ice cream, STUFFED !

I have so many good things to say about Ijji2! I’ve been here many, many times and it consistently remains one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the Reno area. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is very large and inviting. With an ample amount of booths, tables, and bar seating, I have rarely had to wait for a table when dining for lunch or weeknights. The menu is very comprehensive offering a wide variety of appetizers, fresh fish/sushi rolls, veggie rolls, and desserts. There are so many impressive sushi variations it’s a struggle trying to choose a select few to order. Those partaking in all you can eat sushi(AYCE) also have access to a small buffet featuring snacks like edamame, fruit salad, and cucumbers, in addition to the appetizers and dessert included in the AYCE price. Besides the delicious variation of rolls, I must compliment the staff! I always seem to have an entertaining and pleasant experience every time I visit. My order is always taken promptly, and appetizers are delivered to the table within minutes. A friend of mine is a regular here and we like to joke that he’s an Ijji celebrity! The owner always pays special attention to our table when this friend of mine is present. We often receive special decorative rolls as a surprise! Most recently, the owner delivered a flaming dragon roll with eyes and a tail! I love that they acknowledge their loyal customers; it really makes me feel like a valued patron! I love supporting this local business and I’m looking forward to visiting their new Ijji4 location once it opens in North West Reno, which will be strictly barbecue, no sushi. *It should be noted that there is a specific AYCE lunch menu. You are welcome to order rolls from the dinner menu, but you will be expected to pay the dinner price, which is more expensive.
