Our first time in and have heard great things. Awesome customer service! The staff in there were really great and new their product! I got the #13 and was highly satisfied. Really good flavor and fresh meat. I will definitely be returning and recommend this place to all!

Okay, this was my first Philly Cheese steak sandwich-EVER! I KNOW, how did I live so long without one, and here in Reno where(there is rumored) more than one fantastic eatery specializing in Cheese Steak? Honestly, I am not sure how I was roped into going to get one, maybe a friend’s Jedi mind trick? ;) So, I searched Cheese steak, Reno and up popped Allie’s review of Philly’s…not so great, and they were closing in 20 minutes… Why so early on a Friday night? Next in line was Jersey Mike’s, and again a review from Allie… hmmmmm…Allie is a Jersey girl and a good friend, with that gentle nudge I decided to head over and see what I have been missing out on… Friday at 8 pm and it was empty… but there stood three attentive and rather enthusiastic servers at the counter who upon hearing I had never had a Cheese steak– walked me through the menu… The menu is sparse, but I like that-not a lot of fluff just some great tried and true sandwiches without a lot of additions… I am THAT sandwich person who hates a sandwich full of wilted salad and too many dressings… I picked the über sized Kahuna so I could share it($ 15.03 including tax). It really was huge, like TWO normal sized sandwiches… Within a short time it was ready to-go. They offer chips and beverages to round out their sandwiches, and they even have a cheese steak bowl if you need a gluten free option, or are eating low carb! It took me 10 minutes to get home, but not-to-worry, they(it was cut into two sandwiches and each wrapped separately) were wrapped in aluminum foil and brown paper, so still toasty hot and cheesy by the time I got that first bite… I now see what all of the hoopla is about… yummy! I loved everything about it! The bread had that nice smooshie to crunchy ratio, not too much doughy-ness. In fact, I was surprised, usually there is way too much bread on a sub-like sandwich, but in this case it was just the right amount. The Kahuna has onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapenos and sliced beef… all of it was grilled together and topped with melted cheesy goodness. None of the ingredients over powered the savory sliced beef. I wouldn’t say it was packed with anything, but like a good burrito, just enough of everything to round out the flavor and texture. I was offered a Rookie cookie while paying for my sandwich which was a nice way of welcoming a newbie, and all three servers really seemed to genuinely care that I had a great experience. It is located in a good location, open till 9, and near where I run errands most weekends. So, although not in my neighborhood, worth driving to for a quick meal. I definitely will be back for another cheese steak and I will probably try one of their hot pastrami sandwiches next.

My wife and I stopped by here for lunch the other day. We didn’t want fast food but we didn’t have time for a sit down restaurant. She asked bout Subway but I said hey there’s a new place I want to check out and surely we did. Not super hungry, we shared a Cheesesteak(Gigantic?) It was expensive but when we got it, it was huge and loaded with meats, cheese, bell peppers and onions. The bread itself was a lot but it was airy. So after the cheese and hot steamy juice soaked into the bread, it was more manageable. It tasted great and was very filling. I just love the sandwich staying hot because the ingredients were cooked on a flat grill not like the microwave nuking places where the food is cold after a min. Our sandwich stay steaming hot till the last bite. I don’t know how big or small their other size sandwiches are but I’d say just bring a friend and share it like my wife and I did. The owner who was there on his laptop was probably researching on flow of delivery of product. It was just awkward to order from one end and paying on the other and then receiving the food back at where you ordered. Oh staff was super friendly by the way although language should stay somewhat professional. Over heard a staff member commented, «He don’t want that healthy crap.»

I finally got the chance to check out Jersey Mike’s yesterday for lunch. I ordered the #56 Big Kahuna Cheese Steak in a Tub. It’s their famous cheese steak with grilled onions and peppers with mushrooms, jalapenos, and extra cheese… mine being in a tub was on a bed of lettuce instead of on bread making it safe for me to eat(gluten free). There is definitely a chance of cross-contamination of gluten here, but I did fine with what I ordered. I ordered my jalapenos on the side, because I like jalapenos but only to a certain extent. I can only handle a certain amount of heat. It turned out to be a good thing, because the jalapenos were actually dry. I probably wouldn’t have noticed if I didn’t order them on the side. Other than that, I loved my meal. When I was asking if they have any kind of frequent buyer program(which they do), I mentioned that this was my first time there and one of the workers said something about me getting a free cookie since it was my first time there. They called it something like a Rookie Cookie. If that isn’t what it’s called, it’s something that catchy. I couldn’t eat it(since it isn’t gluten free), but my son had it later and he enjoyed it. ;) This honestly is the best sub or any other sandwich done on a bed of lettuce(in lieu of bread) that I have found anywhere around town. It was also more filling than most of them. I will just order this same thing in a tub minus the jalapenos next time.

Sandwiches get a 5 star rating. They use quality meats, cheeses, vegetables and bread unlike that trash Subway. Also, unlike Subway they don’t have a convicted felon as a former pitchman. Jersey Mikes also better than port of subs but also more expensive, hence the 4 star rating overall. Check this place out.

Super good. Meat and veggies tasted really fresh and the bread was AMAZING. Plus, I got a free cookie because it was my first time there so how could I complain?! Cookie was delicious too.

Yo Adrian. I really wanted to say that when I entered, but unfortunately nobody was named Adrian that worked there, anyways they would have thought I was weird, which I am. Jersey Mikes started out in Point Pleasant, New Jersey in 1956. They now have over 1000 franchises across the U.S.A. They are located in the same shopping center as Nordstrom rack. There is more than enough parking and access is extremely easy. It looks like when spring arrives there are four tables to eat your lunch at and enjoy the weather. The seating situation inside is quite spacious with quite a few tables. I ordered the number 13, original Mikes Italian sub. One word describes these subs. Simple. There are not a zillion choices to top the sandwich with. There is tomatoes, onions and lettuce. You can add oil and vinegar if you want. They cook in house there roast beef, bake the bread fresh everyday, slice all the veggies everyday and slice the meat only when ordered. Jersey Mikes is a chain, but they do a good job. I will definitely be back.

Reno’s sub sandwich market is pretty saturated, so any new place that opens is going to have to be remarkable in some way to carve out their own niche. Unfortunately, I didn’t find Jersey Mike’s to be remarkable in any way – food, service and prices are all average. I went simple with a meatball sub, and though the meat itself was tasty, the bread absolutely disintegrated in my hands. Husband had the Original, and his opinion was pretty much the same: not bad, but nothing worth dumping any of our usual sammich joints for. I think Jersey Mike’s is going to have to step up their game a bit if they want to compete.

Interesting experience. Ordered the chipotle Philly Cheesesteak. Reg size. The fella behind the counter was very friendly and accommodating. When I first got sub, the bread was good but there was a lot of it, I started to mentally prepare myself to be disappointed. But the meat, cheese and veggies were ample inside large sub roll. Once I started to get to the middle it literally got better with every bite. It truly had a great flavor profile. When I got to the last bite, it was like the last bite of an ice cream cone, delicious! And I wish I had gotten the large. It wasn’t that spicy but was still great. I will be back for sure.

Went in yesterday and tried out their #5 Super Sub(Provolone, ham, prosciuttini and cappacuolo). I had pickles, oil and vinegar, lettuce, and tomatoes. The sandwich was good but not earth shattering. I may be back when i’m in the area, but it won’t be a destination or unseat Jimmy John’s as my goto.

This visit was a disaster from the start. There was one party ahead of us. They wanted to customize their order. Which is fine, I’m a vegan I customize everything. The issue is the girl taking orders. She had attitude. She was more concerned with acting like the big boss and giving demands to other employees then getting through the line. She made big productions of slamming down order forms and shouting BOOM rather then work on completing orders. When it was finally our turn I ordered the mini veggie sandwich no cheese. Since I’m vegan I wanted a little bit more then just lettuce, tomato and onion, so I asked her if they could add the grilled mushrooms, onions, and peppers from one of the hot sandwiches as an extra. She responsed«uh, I don’t know, I’m going to go with maybe, yeah, maybe, we’ll see.» Since our sandwiches were cold she didn’t write them down. My husband ordered a number 9 no cheese. She lined up our bread plus the bread for one sandwich ahead of us and then went to slice meat. The girl who adds veggies to the sandwiches just stood there waiting for the meat to be added so she could proceed. Rather then build the next sandwich BOOM girl instead stopped working and entered into a «stare off» with the customer after us. It seems Jersey Mikes had run out of white bread and they were offering him wheat bread. BOOM girl told him«our wheat taste like white it’s just brown, it’s not like it’s whole grain or anything.» To which he replied«I’m a 4th generation Italian New Yorker I want my white bread.» BOOM girl set down the meat she had started to slice and commenced the stare off. In fact the veggie condiment girl standing around actually announced«Oooh we have a stare off.» At this point production came to a total stand still for another minute or so. Finally everyone started working again and BOOM girl commenced slicing meat. When it came to my sandwich it was handed down without any grilled veggies like I asked. She confirmed with my husband that he wanted a number eight. He said«no a number NINE no cheese.» Veggie condiment girl asked what I wanted on my sandwich and I said«well I asked for grilled veggies but didn’t get them can I at least get some mustard?» She built my sandwich without mustard, and no attempt to fix the missing grilled veggies, and when she went to slice it I said again, «can I at least get some mustard?» Finally she got the mustard and proceeded to drown every inch of my bread in mustard until it was falling out the sides looking like Big Bird. Now BOOM girl stopped working to discuss with the Italian New Yorker the difference between Reno and Tahoe tap water. After coming to agreement on Tahoe water BOOM Tahoe water is the best”, BOOM girl handed my husbands sandwich to the veggie condiment girl and said«this ones a number EIGHT.» My husband at this point was tired of waiting and said, «well no it’s a number NINE I wanted but I’ll just take the number eight now because I’m hungry.» BOOM girl actually gave him a dirty look and said, «at least I got the no cheese right, just the wrong meat,» and walked away un phased. By the time we had paid and gotten our food it had been over 18 minutes(I would wait 18 minutes at a sammich shop like Deli Towne). My sandwich was mediocre at best. It was drown in mustard and covered in oil. Usually when someone orders a veggie sandwich no cheese a deli will go out of their way to amp up the veggies for you. Instead I got about 4″ of lettuce, two slices of tomato, two meager small pickles, two circles of onion and one banana pepper. I left the place with mustard in my finger nails because there was so much dripping out of my sandwich, even after I wiped half of it off onto the oily sandwich paper. My husband said his sandwich tasted okay for being the WRONG sandwich. The table next to us who had the big custom order was still waiting to receive part of their order by the time we were finished eating. Two or their sandwiches came out wrong. One customer asked for sown ketchup and the girl came out and got it from below the soda dispenser and then just tossed to go packs on the counter with the straws and lids and walked off. This table had asked for a side of peppers, they didn’t get them. When they went back and asked for them the cashier signed and got annoyed handing him the smallest side possible. There was a line of 9 people behind us when we put in our order. When we finished our food eight of them were still waiting. I think this place could be good if you like rude service, and staff who will«maybe» give you what you want, and then forget because«BOOMTHATSHOWYOUSLICEHAM, «a BOOMHEREISYOURNEXTORDER,» «BOOMBOOMBOOM.» Awful meal. Meager pathetic veggie sandwich. I see no reason to ever return. Also the place was very very dirty. Floors and tables covered in crumbs and gross.

Nestled between Bed Bath & Beyond and World Market, this little sub sandwich shop I fairly new. Staff is friendly. My philly cheese steak was made to order and served hot. And it was a tasty sandwich on way too much bread. Like port of subs, they cut your cold cuts to order as well so they’re fresh. Only white bread available. Neat and clean which is always important. Apparently there’s more than one Jersey Mike’s subs, but I never heard of them. I’d come back for a quick bite while shopping

This is a happening little shop next to the Nordstrom Rack so it is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. This is important when you are trying to make it in and out of a place on a limited lunch hour. The menu had a variety of hot and cold sandwiches but I was here for the cheesesteak I kept seeing pictures on Unilocal and Facebook. It comes in two sizes and the small is enough for one person. You also have the option of adding chips and a drink which round out the meal. The sandwich? It was good. The bread was soft but sturdy enough to hold everything and it was all fresh and hot. If anything I could have used a bit more meat on it but that is just my preference. I will be back The service was fast and friendly and the prices in line with other better fast food options in town.

I was excited to see that Jersey Mike’s opened recently and I found a coupon for the new store. I decided to give it a try… I wanted a hot cheesesteak(spicy with chipotle sauce). To be honest, it wasn’t all that great. It was a nice sandwich and it was enjoyable, but as 2 stars state«I’ve experienced better». In fact Capriotti’s is a better cheesesteak with better flavor. I like that there is another new restaurant chain in town that we get to try and enjoy, and maybe other sandwiches are better, but I am going to have to pass for now. The cost of the meal was a little pricey too. You can order a mini size or a larger size. Either size you get is fine, but the fact that if you add a drink and chips, you are looking at a meal of $ 17 dollars plus. Not worth the price. Go to Quiznos, Capriotti’s or port of subs… you money will either get you more or more taste. Ty it once, then go back to what you know and like.

Yeah, I’m from Jersey. Exit 4. But Jersey Mike’s arrived after I escaped the Garden State, so ironically, the only time I’ve had a Jersey Mike sandwich before now was somewhere in Florida many years ago. Stopped here to see what all the fuss was about. With other reviewers raving about the cheesesteak, I thought I’d order that to have for lunch and grab a Jersey Shore hoagie for later. About the cheesesteak: I asked for no onion, no peppers, just mushrooms. About $ 8 for its smallest size. Pretty tasty — meat was quite lean, so not as juicy as I’d like, and there seemed to be more bread than I’d prefer. Overall, it was good, but Capriotti’s still has it beat for flavor and juiciness and by far, amount of meat in my opinion. The bread(because you know, it’s all about how close to an Amoroso roll you can get) was right on target. About the Jersey Shore: Not bad. As close to what I grew up on and knew as an Italian hoagie. Lots of lettuce(which I really like). The downside was that there was just way too much of the nice, tart vinaigrette dressing, which soaked the bread. Best to eat this fairly immediately or ask for a light amount of dressing. A mini sandwich came in under $ 6. Total, with a drink and some chips and 2 sandwiches: About $ 18. The process to get a sandwich was a bit clunky. The same person who took my order then used a deli slicer to cut the meat to order — during a busy and hectic lunch hour, this slowed down the process quite a bit. The bread and meat is then handed to the next person, who dresses the sandwich to order. Then finally, you get to the third person, who has to stand and wait and doesn’t ring you up until your sandwich is made. Would definitely come back and try some of their other sandwiches.

Jersey Mike’s kind of snuck up on me, as before a week or so ago I thought that Capriotti’s was really the only place to fulfill my cheesesteak craving. I think it’s super interesting that this newest location for sammiches is just around the corner. The next day, we forced ourselves to get a cheesesteak from their competitor just to have a recent comparison in our minds. The meat is super flavorful, and while I stuck with a more traditional option, I was intrigued by the other options they have available(buffalo chicken, bacon ranch, etc.). The meat was juicy and flavorful, but I felt the resulting sandwich ended up being a little too wet for my taste. The bread is good, but not excellent. I also feel like they should offer a few different sandwich sizes. The«giant» size is truly giant, while the regular size is pretty small. What turned me off a bit was the staff. They aren’t rude or anything, mostly just speak/act without thinking. First, the cashier made sure to comment on the size of our order and how we must really feel like pigging out to order that much food. Sure, it’s a big sandwich, but not really worth a comment. Second, my husband was sitting down and the guy sweeping up made him feel really uncomfortable while he swept under his feet and around him instead of just waiting for him to get up. While I’m always excited to see new businesses opening up in town, I think in this case I’ll probably stick with my original.

A frequent visitor to Jersey Mike’s while living in Simi; was excited to see one open in Reno. It is hard to find roast beef done right, Jersey Mike’s is exceptional; made in house; med-rare; awesome! Welcome, now get in my belly.
