Ummm, so I can’t believe that no one else has reviewed this store yet! On second thought, considering the demographics of a typical Talbot’s shopper, maybe it does make sense… In any event, I’m a twenty-somethinger who stumbled into a Talbot’s Petites store for the first time in her life. Instantly, I thought I had made a mistake. Here I was, surrounded by middle-aged women who were in seventh heaven as they moved from rack to rack. I took one look at the nearest rack and thought about bolting for the door. But I figured, hey, the store is small. Why not give it a few minutes and see if anything, ANYthing in this little tiny store caught my eye? As I moved from rack to rack, I was not very impressed. First, the price tags were quite high — most everything I saw that even remotely interested me was selling in the three figures! What’s more, I could tell that the clothes were very well-made, but they are very classic(think: Brooks Brothers meets the Junior League) and not necessarily cut for a younger woman’s body. About to give up, I moved to the sale rack. Some of the items there were still pricey too, but there were some nice surprises sprinkled here and there. They were running a buy any item, get next item 50% off special, and I decided to try some of the basic pieces(like cardigans) to expand my work wardrobe. To make a long story short, I tried on a pair of 2P pants that fit like a glove. I mean, I love, love, L-O-V-E these pants. They are not boxy, but neither are they skin-tight. In fact, I loved them so much that I got them in both black and gray. With the 50% off special PLUS the additional 10% you get when you sign up for the loyalty card(not a credit card, just one of those cards you scan every time you make a purchase) I ended up getting two pairs of pants that are very top quality and will serve me well at work for years to come for just over $ 100 bucks. Best of all, I feel like these pairs are better than comparable petites pants I could have picked up at Ann Taylor or Banana Republic. So, my verdict is in. If you are a young petite and looking for workwear for the professional or business casual office, then I think it’s worth it to shop the sale racks in this free-standing petites store every now and then. You won’t be blown away by the selection, but you will probably find a piece that you end up wearing for years to come! Quality — 4 Style — 3(in general) Customer Service — 4 Selection — 3
