I am glad that I had a chance to check out the Wildflower Festival. Even on a Saturday there was a decent crowd, but it was fairly easy to get around. There were a lot of vendors selling jewelry, and art as well as a kids area with rock climbing and karaōke. There were several stages for live entertainment which were easy to view, and some well known artists which justified the entrance fee.

If you live in the area, you should be at Wildflower! Wildflower festival weekend is my favorite weekend of the whole year. Typically they have older bands that have big hits, but can still play and put on a great show. You can get 3 day passes at Tom Thumb for $ 30, and everything is priced reasonably for being such an awesome venue and festival. They have food stands set up with local eateries, and a lot of different local businesses that hold raffles, an there’s an area for the kids to play as well. My only complaint about Wildflower festival is that they only do it once a year! Too much fun to miss this!

The Wildflower Festival has become a tradition for my family. We usually go on Friday night right when the festival opens… That allows for plenty of guilty«fare» food, beer, games for the kids, etc… We always book a suite at the Renaissance and have a family member watch the kids after hours do that we can go down and watch whichever 90’s band is playing that year… Fun for the whole family.

Much better than dealing with the crowds at Taste Addison! The bands are usually washed up bands(but not bad) from prior decades but you are guaranteed to know a song or two which is more than I can say about a Jimmy Buffett show! I definitely recommended if you’ve got nothing to do this weekend in May. The only think that sucks mad donkey balls is the cost to get in is 20 bucks but you can get discounted tickets at Albertson’s or if you are a Richardson resident at city offices. I’ve seen Electric Light Orchestra, Brett Michaels, Lisa Loeb, & Blue Oyster Cult this year & it’s never a bad show. If you’ve got the money then definitely go & bring chairs & blankets!

If you haven’t been to this festival, you really need to go at least once. They always have a great lineup of singers. We go every year because we live in Richardson but also because its one of the best annual festivals that you can go to to listen to good music… have a beer or six… and just enjoy people watching… because I promise you you will trip out at some of the things people will wear to go to this festival.
