Good pizza and great beer selection. Been there when they were swamped, food was slow beer was cold and they made a point to resolve the slow delivery of food. Good place to watch the UK game without a massive crowd.

Service is just ok, but the food is awesome! Very relaxed, nice beer selection, good little place. Pizza was incredible– that not-so-easy to do mix of crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. Small-cut veggie toppings, which I like. Split a meal size salad and a 20-inch with my husband, and that would have been plenty for 4 adults. We are going to make this place a habit!

Just moved to Berea and decided to try this place, pretty awesome stuff. The pizza is about a 4/5, the crust is the only thing that could be better. The sauce was on point and the spicy sausage is delicious. You have to try the poutine, the fries are done perfectly and the cheese and gravy set it off. Very good spot!

The food here was fantastic. I had fantastic pizza and very good boneless wings. More importantly, their beer selection is outstanding, including both their draft and bottle list. If you’re a craft beer enthusiast, you shouldn’t pass up a visit to Apollo. However, the service was basically nonexistent. The night I was there didn’t seem particularly busy but it took nearly half an hour to get a round of drinks and we were finished with that round by the time we were asked for our food order. It’s also worth noting that the servers don’t seem to be especially knowledgeable about the beer selection and brought us the wrong beer at one point, which we had to drink because it had already been opened. Luckily we weren’t charged for it but I would expect a place with this caliber of beer offerings would train their staff on what’s available so they can accurately describe beers to customers and keep up with the constantly rotating list. I’ll probably go back but I’d shoot for a seat at the bar to avoid the hassle of poor service.

Great food, excellent craft beer on tap, selection changes often! Service is wonderful and friendly! Try the buffalo chicken pizza or the Mexican pizza for something different. The garlic cheese sticks and wings are fantastic as well!

Gave ‘em another shot(delivery). Ordered online and chose«light bake» and an extra cup of sauce on the side. Pizza was not light baked(in fact it was closer to well done), and no extra cup of sauce was provided. They shouldn’t include options on ordering if they’re not going to be honored.

Go to Gillums. The food and service are way better. I’ve been to Apollo too many times and had my order messed up or delayed. Any negative Unilocal review of this establishment is off set by a five star positive review from an account just created. They pad their numbers to get Unilocalers in. If you go they will mess up your order or otherwise ruin your experience. The management are«lifers» and some personnel are bad. UPDATE: I was confronted by management regarding this Unilocal review in front of other patrons. Instead of accepting the criticism and using it to improve their business operations I was told not to come back. If you’ve ever seen Amy’s Baking company on YouTube this is the Richmond Ky version.

The food is very good, and if it was only based on that, this would definitely garner a five star review. The meals sometimes come out at different times when eating in a group, and details are sometimes forgotten about. The food keeps me coming back however, so this is a place that I would definitely recommend.

Great hometown pizza place with a wonderful craft beer selection. Fun place to watch a game and grab a slice or to just hang out. Have to give it a try.

Same awesome pizza subs from 25 years ago when I first ate here! The breadsticks are a requirement. Doughy, garlicky and covered in Parmesan and butter. We got breadsticks, toasted ravioli and 4 subs for about $ 40. Well worth the stop if you are in Richmond.

After a day of caving south of Berea, our group of 8 stopped at Apollo, primarily because of their great draft beer selection which apparently changes weekly. We were not disappointed. Not only are the craft beer choices in plentiful supply, but the staff is more than accommodating in offering suggestions and small tastings. The service was outstanding for both beer and food. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an innovative pizza menu, including the 3 cheeseburger pizza. It’s fun to stop here just to see the innovative ways one can create pizza. Apollo is definitely a «keeper» in the Richmond area for caving and hiking trips. As an after thought, the initial glance inside left one wondering but don’t let that fool you. There’s a whole bar area and restaurant past the initial counter with sports TVs and plenty of tables.

I absolutely love this place and recommend it to anyone who asks where they can get a good pizza. The Wagon Wheel will feed an army for sure. They have the best baked Zitti I have ever had in my life. It’s a little pricey but you get what you pay for and it is by far worth it. After being closed for quite some time I am happy they brought this staple back to Richmond. It also doesn’t hurt they’re open until the wee hours of the morning and serve beer! Oh, and you must get an order of their garlic butter bread sticks! Literally soaking in a butter bath they are melt in your mouth and borderline orgasmic! The service is always great, the people are friendly and this will always be my favorite pizza in the world

Lots of options, even if you don’t like pizza! Just make sure you have time and aren’t in a hurry, the pizzas take a while to cook. Our waitress was very friendly and insightful. I would recommend this to anyone, especially pizza lovers!

We have eaten there before and the food is good but the service is terrible. The first time we tried to get delivery they called us back and said they wouldn’t deliver to our house. That wasn’t a big deal but we went in when our food was supposed to be ready and they hadn’t even started making our food yet! We waited another hour to get our food! They gave us a brownie for our time. We called for delivery last night and they said they could deliver to our house this time. So they took our order including our credit card info. We called back an hour and a half later because they weren’t here yet, and when we called the second time they said they didn’t have an order from us! If you want to go in you may be better off but don’t try to get delivery from them.

Harmony, order, and reason. The veritable characteristics of Apollo. The pizza joint in his namesake does not deviate far from this veritas. Apollo’s Pizza and I share a history that jerks at memories of a place that is not only a temple to the divine pizza gods, but to the craft of freshness in food. Let’s get the basics out of the way. Apollo’s is located in the quiet outskirts of EKU’s campus, nestled in a little hill on the side of Second St. as you approach Water St. The venue is seemingly as quiet as I remember it, but things have changed. For the best in this case! I usually don’t go all out five stars unless the place proves itself more than once(there are little no flukes in good food). So this review encompasses two visits. First visit, a lowly Sunday afternoon I decided to grab a light lunch and brew. Apollo’s was open and I entered a fairly barren place. You’ve got to remember, I hadn’t been here since a kid, so things were different. I was pleasantly surprised! The interior was completely overhauled and they had some great bar equipment that I’m sure has been put to good use! I took it in, ordered the Herbivore at the counter and dined in. The hoagie was delicious. The dough/bread gave easily and was crisp through the experience. All the veggies were on point and all the tastes were there. It left me satisfied, satiated, and in harmony with the universe. Unfortunately, because of state/local laws, the brews were flowing until after 1pm that day. Just something to keep in mind, they’ve got a great selection of craft and local beers! The second visit was on a Saturday evening. I opted for carry out and got the three-topping carry out special(which is one hell of a deal if you compare it to the pizza giants). Along with it, I got the garlic bread-sticks. Order was in place! 20 – 25 minutes to pick up. When I arrived, pleasantly surprised again. It was happening, the tables were filled, people were having drinks and it seemed like a dining experience was definitely to be had. My pizza was spot on! The crust flaky, crispy, and golden(no doubt freshly made that day). The garlic bread-sticks were swimming in garlic butter, you could even forgo the red sauce and completely soak up that buttery goodness. I loved that. Harmony was there, order was there, and the reason belongs in the menu. It’s expansive, diverse, and most importantly, conscious. You’ve got a lot of vegan/vegetarian offerings as well as gluten-free items. When such detail is observed, you know that the proprietors are concerned with your experience being the best. I had remembered Apollo’s as a stoner pizza joint with billiards and an arcade. While a pair of those relics still exist, Apollo’s has transcended to join a true pantheon of pizza.
