I came here for prom about 4 years ago, so I’m glad I got to visit today to update my thoughts. I think they might have changed ownership in the past few years, but I’m not really sure. They have kept the same menu, and the décor is still romantic and homey. I wasn’t sure whether they were open today or not, because they normally aren’t on Sundays, but for the holiday, we were able to walk in. Someone was playing some nice and romantic Italian-esque guitar and that really helped set the mood. They brought out some warm ciabatta, and we chose our meals. The salad was fresh, but I probably wouldn’t go for the Italian dressing again, just because it wasn’t vinegary enough for me. The arancini was amazing, and I could have gotten 8 orders of it if I decided to spend that much money. Our pastas were well seasoned and nicely portioned(lunch and dinner sizes are different) and I don’t have any complaints. If you are a person who very much likes al dente pasta, I would specifically request that, because the pasta was perfectly cooked for me, but could be chewier for those«to the tooth» types. Overall, I loved it, and my date and I decided we should come more often!

Absolutely delicious! My wife and I eat here frequently & everything is amazing! From the lasagna to the pizza the food is fresh and the service is fast & courteous. The chicken rustica sandwich is my favorite! This is a must try and I assure you you’ll be back.

Ordered a large stuffed crust veggie pizza. This was our first time and didn’t know what to expect. Especially since some if the reviews are iffy. We were surprised how good the pizza was. Picked up the pizza and was surprised how heavy it was. Handmade crust was amazing. This is our new pizza place. Can’t wait to eat the pasta.

Didn’t enjoy my visit here. Service was awkward and I wasn’t told until after I gave them my credit card that they could only accept check or cash. Wish I’d known that before I sat down. Prices were decent, but food was only average.

This is Richmond’s best kept secret. I cannot figure out why there isn’t a line and wait, but there never is even though it is not a large eatery. If you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner this is the place. The wait staff is helpful, friendly, but not intrusive. They have a guitar player who plays live background music — he is very good — for tips. They have the best dupping bread in Ricmond served with olive oil and vinagrette. I’ve had several things off the menu as has my husband and we are never disappointed. This will definately be on my list the next time my husband says«let’s go out»(or when he says«what’s for dinner and iIhaven’tthe foggiest!:)) Give it a try — you will not be diappointed.

Took our family there to try a local place, getting tired of chains & always wanting to support local businesses. Elvira’s wasn’t busy at all and our service was good, not great. We ordered a little of everything and liked it for the most part. The salad was just a basic ol’ salad. The chicken parm was good, the lasagna was ok, the portion was small. The other entrees were good, the sausage and peppers were great, but a small portion. The kids menu was good and at a decent price. We will probably go back

Live musician playing on Friday night three times I’ve been there. Fresh in house made pasta, sauce, and fresh ingredients. Reasonable prices: ~$ 9 — $ 13 for a dinner entry. One dish that did not impress was the smothered chicken. The vegetables were fresh, but bland and the rice over cooked. The pasta and pizza were all excellent.

One of our favorite restaurants. The food is always fresh and delicious, the service is fantastic, and the prices are extremely reasonable. I love the meatless lasagna and my husband loves the pasta primavera. The tomato sauce is perfect. It’s the only place we will eat in Richmond. The owners and staff treat us like family.

Elvira’s is a very nice, often overlooked little eatery. Offering delicious Italian inspired food in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, it is beyond me as to how Elvira’s has not become one of the more popular restaurants in Richmond. The food is served in an aesthetically pleasing manner and has been consistently delicious. The wait staff have always been very helpful and friendly and take time to discuss the menu with you. During my last trip, I thoroughly enjoyed the Italian sausage with peppers and onions. Do yourself a favor and at least give Elvira’s a try!

Elvira’s was excellent. The lasana and veal parmigiana were very delicious. Homemade Italian salad dressing is recommended. Atmosphere was quiet, friendly and service was quick and at the appropriate speed for date night. The owner’s were trained in Chicago and have good photo’s describing the history.
