I recently moved to Riverside, and when I was talking to the previous owners, they told me there was a good Stater Bros. and a bad one, but the bad one is closer(can you guess which one this review is about?). I came here thinking maybe she was exaggerating, but I will never come here again. I don’t know what’s wrong with all the employees there, but they are either all messing around like children, or they’re super rude. The worst of all was my cashier. I wish I got her name but I honestly just wanted to get out of there. First of all, she’s throwing all my items down the belt super aggressively. There wasn’t anyone bagging so she starts throwing all my items in one bag. And then, I’m paying with my card and she looks at me and asks how old I am. I wasn’t even buying any alcohol or anything. Just food. Like what reason does she have to ask me that. Suffice to say, corporate needs to do some undercover shopping or something because they need to clean house or give better training to their employees. Very unprofessional. I’ll drive the extra miles to go to the nice Stater Bros. Update: I checked my receipt for her name. It’s Xochitl. Very rude.

I don’t know if the managers of the stores actually read these reviews. But they should. I am seriously considering shopping somewhere else. I have been shopping here consistently for 5 years. I come here at least once a week. Although the prices are good. The customer service and the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. The cashiers are quite rude. Of all the times I’ve been here I can remember maybe 5 instances where a cashier has even acknowledge my presence. Most retail places you can at the very least expect a «hi, how’re you» and a have a nice day. Without fail, when I come here, I am ignored. Often times the cashier will be engaged in a conversation with a co-worker or friend the entire time they are ringing up my items. This usually upsets me as I am a pretty friendly person– although I am not even expecting friendly. I just want to be acknowledge as a customer and a person. I shopped here again this evening and as expected I was completely ignored. Except for when they forgot to charge me for my milk, oh no, THEN, they sent the bag girl running out after me all the way to my car. And had me come back in so they could fix THEIR mistake. When I came back in in was clearly upset. Then the cashier decides to actually make eye contact with me as he laughed and smiled. I was not amused. The customer service here sucks. I will be shopping else where.

i shop here all the time, prices are good and store if fairly clean. However I have boughten meat from the butcher and on more than one occasion the meat was bad. I normally by meat fresh and either cook it the same day or the next. But after being disappointed several times i think its about time to fine a new place to purchase meat. I’ve gone as far as bringing the meat back and replacing it with yet another bad chunk of meat. I figured it might of been due to the time of day i bought the meat and the freshness of the cut, but after experimenting with different times of purchasing meat the quality was the same. especially with the ground turkey, several of the employees in the meat department had made comments about how disgusting it is and that they wouldn’t even touch it, so that alone made me not want to purchase meat products from that store again.

This is my store. I love stater brothers. No matter where I’m at I will look for the closest stater brothers because they definitely have the best prices. Their butcher area is not so great but it is a small price to pay for the rest of the greatness. I have one just down the street thankfully but I would drive further if I had to. Oddly though, the butchers do not seem to have a firm grasp on proper terminology. I have asked several times for chicken breast to be butterflied and they always ask what that means. I also had one time where I wanted the meat that I was purchasing to be ground and the butcher argued with me that the meat in the counter was the same as the meat I wanted ground and why didn’t I just buy what was already ground. I’m not really sure it is any of their business why I prefer to have the meat that I pick out ground while I’m there but either way if they do not want to do it the way that I ask, the store down the street has no problem with it. The same one that argued with me about it finally decided he would act like he is doing what I asked for but what he did was take the meat in the back and then come out two minutes later saying it was done. I know better than this because I also grind my own meat at home so instead of continuing the argument I just took to me down an aisle and then left it there and when it’s to the store that will do as I ask. Unfortunately stater brothers has lost the meat portion of my business but otherwise they are the place I go to for groceries and anything else they may have that I need besides meat.

*** Pit stop review(Riverside) *** Been on the road a while today. Time to take a break and get some snacks. This is a sleepy working class area with friendly people. This is a standard store that isn’t new. What I liked… * There’s a small deli to pick up some pre-cooked chicken for lunch. * I can park my large truck easily without any major problem. * The area is working class and not ghetto. So I don’t have to worry about leaving my vehicle unattended. * Not knowing all areas well I’m always glad to land in areas where I feel it’s safe enough to take a break. What I didn’t like… * The parking lot is not huge. So I can see the lot getting full fast. Freeway access = ~1.5 miles from fwy Parking = small. Better truck parking on the side of bldg. Shopping area = clean & organized Service = friendly Restroom = average

Staters is where I shop for groceries in addition to Trader Joe’s and Costco. It’s nothing spectacular, just a grocery store with a really good meat department. I think they main reason I go there is because they don’t have any stupid rewards card program like Albertsons or Ralphs. I’m sorry, but I don’t want to give you my personal information to get $.50 off a bag of chips and then have to carry around a stupid card in my wallet.
