Relaxing place to have some coffee and get some work done. Nice people, good atmosphere.

The pesto chicken is very delicious. It’s impossible to mess up pesto. I was expecting their frozen coffee to taste like Frappucino but it’s quite bitter. So make sure you let them know if you want it a bit sweet.

I came here a couple days ago. I got a cappuccino and the chicken pesto wrap. My fiancé got a mocha and the turkey club sandwich. My cappuccino was made well, it had good texture and the espresso tasted good. My wrap was pretty decent too. My fiancés club looked(and according to him did) have a little too much cheese. It looked like a grilled cheese with toppings more than a turkey sandwich with cheese. The salad that accompanied the wrap was good too, except the tomato was sad, pale pink, and would probably be better off in a compost somewhere. Overall it was a good place. The staff was nice and helpful.

The coffee and general atmosphere is good(very cool artwork everywhere), but it seems like 95% of the baristas who work here have a chip on their shoulders. Not sure if the cool/hipster thing to do is be rude or non-responsive to customers, but I’ve been coming here off an on for years and find that most of them aren’t friendly and they act like they’d rather be anywhere else. Every now and then there’ll be a friendly barista, but that’s not the norm.

Been here a couple times to study for school. It’s a really nice quiet place with a great interior. They have a wide variety of coffee as well as coffee cocktails. My spicy vanilla chai latte was perfect. One of the best I’ve had in Rochester. Used to go to Spot or Java’s as a place to study but I’ll be coming to Boulder more often.

A perfect spot for meeting up with friends. I’m a big coffee drinker but have had to switch to decaf. But Boulder always has a decaf option brewed and hot and the baristas never judge you for asking for it. The baked goods are also a nice treat!

Love this place. It is located in a convenient area with good parking. I love their food selection, probably more than their coffee. Their tuna melt and the South Wedge Veg sandwiches are delicious! Definitely a great spot for a quick lunch.

Loud metal music at 8am was the last straw. The place has its merits, open feel with lots of windows, indie interior. The coffee is OK, the sandwiches good, the treats not so good. I went fairly regularly for awhile, stopped going after recurring wireless network problem. Started going again recently, the internet is fixed, but customers are captive to the music and loudness tastes of whoever is on duty. It may work out for you, it may not. Loud metal music at 8am drove me away this morning, unlikely to return.

Cute, eclectic coffee shop in the South Wedge. They’ve got some awesome vintage furniture inside and really cool artwork adorning the walls. There’s plenty of room in here – from tables and comfy seating to bar seating facing the street if you want to people watch. And yay for it actually being warm in a coffee shop for a change(and I even sat at the bar near the windows)! Another positive – they’ve got a nice space for stage for live music. Score! The staff seemed friendly & the pastries looked yummy. I, however, am on Day #1 of a no sugar added lifestyle. Doh! I should have come here yesterday. ;P The only reason I’m giving this place a 4& not a 5 is because I’m a bit of a coffee snob. The coffee was decent, but the dark roast wasn’t dark enough for my taste & was a bit acidic. If I could’ve given ‘em a 4& a ½, I would have. Oh! And they have free wi-fi. You definitely don’t want to miss this place!

Great environment, good space for meetings and doing work. I heard though that the owner has cheated others in not paying wages and haven’t heard much ahout it nowadays(from la casa i believe). Coffee /drinks are a bit high even for chic coffee places

A decent coffeehouse if you are not looking for standardization of drinks like at Starbucks; the nice side about this place is that they do serve alcohol and beers. The layout of this place reminds me of the coffeehouse from the TV show«Friends». The have live music, poetry and some nontraditional artwork too. There is a nice outside sitting area too when the weather will agree with your decision.

We’ve been here a few times. Latest was for a Halloween event for kids through our music school. It’s a large location with 2 different rooms. They also serve alcoholic beverages. Coffee with Bailey’s is great in the winter! Plenty of parking, nice staff, good coffee.

I’m not a big coffee drinker but I do like this place. It’s located pretty unassuming from the outside but once you go in you will see that it has a lot of character. There is art all over the place and is very stimulating. There are old school furnishings and old CRT televisions are placed around the place as part of the décor. It’s a very welcoming environment and has a pretty diverse crowd but I have yet to see kids in here. I don’t see this as the place for kids as it’s more for relaxing and studying if your looking for a quiet place at times. They have a variety of options as far as coffee and teas. They even have a menu that includes alcohol along with your coffee. I tried the millionaires coffee and it was pretty good. At $ 10 a pop I wouldn’t say it’s something you would sit around tossing back in a coffee shop but three should get you right. Ha ha. It’s a very casual environment and I could spend hours in here hanging out with friends. They also offer deserts and sandwiches if you are looking for a bite to eat while you relax. I plan on frequenting this place more and would recommend this place to anyone.

If you haven’t heard, both Boulder locations have an Open Comedy Mic night. I didn’t have high expectations but turns out, it’s HILARIOUS! Yes there will be some performing for the first time and they will be nervous and some of the jokes are a bit awkward but other regulars are really Comedy Central quality – quick on their feet and spontaneously able to make jokes dependent upon the crowd – always a sign of a true comedian. It’s also cool that they serve alcohol. I thought it was just a coffee shop but… surprise! I do have to suggest that Boulder really work on their internet. I live right around the corner and several times have joined the other lucky folks who work from home but want to get out and about so we don’t all go stir crazy and never leave our pajamas! A real requirement, IMO, for a daytime coffee shop venture is Internet but the service here is shoddy and cuts out altogether almost every hour and takes forever to kick back on because a staff person has to go and restart it or something. I’ve been told by the staff that the modem is very far and the closer you sit to the register the better, but really? C’mon. Let’s get that figured out.

Cozy local place with artsy touch. I had caramel macchiato. I love it. If they have friendly staffs would make perfect 5 stars.

So hipster. The décor is quirky, the menus are extensive(alcoholic coffee anyone?), and there is even a stage for entertainment. Service: We walked in and I was initially rubbed the wrong way. The lady at the counter did this quick look-me-up-and-down thing. No smile. Nothing. Oh well. We were there to get coffee, so we proceeded to order. Coffee: I got a latte with soy and my bf got a normal latte. Filled to the brim and decorated with cool latte art, we got our coffees and went to take a seat at one of their many tables. One sip and it was anticlimactic. The coffee was good, but it was lukewarm. Would I come back? They have solid brews, but they would definitely have to step it up a notch if I were to give them a second chance.

I really wanted to like this place. The décor is awesome love the art kids! Why the 3 stars??? Allow to explain Standing for yup 3 – 4 minutes waiting to be smiled at helped or even given a bit of eye contact while this very pretty thin girl finishes her conversation/flirting with the young man next to me. He clearly had his yummy looking coffee in his hand flirting back. I really felt that I should reach over and just grab his coffee and take it as my own. «Hmm kkkhmmm» oh good she noticed me. Not happy about it she takes my and my friends order. 2 cups of coffee. We go to the set up station my friend pours milk in his first only to have it curdle. Oh hell no! I do not like cheese in my coffee. I ask for fresh cream and you might think I was asking her for her first born. I thought it was just me. Maybe I reminded her of her a noxious older sister, hopefully not her mom. BUT it wasn’t just me! Yay! This atrocious service was given to EVERY person who walked on to buy something…, unless you where a cute boy! I will be back young lady, I shall give you one more chance. Maybe you where having a rough day. Maybe I’ll have a cute boy with me so you can smile as you hand me my coffee. Oh coffee was good! Probably better than most!

I am a lover of coffee and alcoholic beverages. So putting them together on a workday evening while the snow falls is almost magical. I kinda felt like I was in some 1950’s romantic film… minus the romance. I love dark and dreary places and this place had that. They tried to turn on the outside lights and I felt like Gizmo and shielded my eyes. No no no, keep it dark! My friend and I had the Chocoholic coffee cocktail. It consists of chocolate latte, Godiva chocolate liqueur, and was topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. To me it tasted like chocolate beer with whipped cream and it was fabulous! Next time I’ll try the Café D’ Orange which was featured in the Weekend section of the D&C last week. Espresso and Grand Marnier with whipped cream and orange! YUM

I am a big Boulder fan — I live near the Park Ave Boulder so I am there much more often than the South Wedge version but I love this place too. It has a spread out space to sit and read/study/relax, one room is usually fairly quiet, the other can get a bit louder. They have some great open mics including Sunday open mic comedy which can be hilarious for many different reasons. Their coffee and teas are always great, my 2nd favorite vanilla chai in the city. Their food selection are also great(breakfast sandwiches are great when I am actually awake for breakfast on the weekend). The best part about this location is the back deck area. Its huge, their is shady spots and spots right in the sun. Great place to spend a summer afternoon(and being a teacher — I have lots of free summer afternoons).

I love hot cider on a cool fall morning so I stopped in at Boulder and used a bit of my guilt-laden, non-interest-bearing savings account which consists of several unused Groupons(this one expired almost 3 years ago). With my three Groupon bucks and seven more in cash, I scored two hot, sweet, and delicious apple cider drinks and a sammy. Now, when I see a menu item named Susan B, I’m already curious. I wonder if this sammy is named for the famous female suffragist, Susan B Anthony, who was arrested for voting in Rochester in the late 1800s and subsequently refused to pay the fine. Methinks a sammy of this name should be savory and spicy… maybe something with a little kick, in honor of this wonderful woman who helped to change the course of history. I opted for the Susan B on a pumpernickel bagel. It included slices of deli meat turkey, dried cranberries, slivered almonds, mixed greens, and cream cheese. It was a little more sweet than savory. This tasty little sammy has inspired me to make a variation sans cream cheese, with a little balsamic instead and maybe a more savory cheese like gruyère or even a sharp cheddar. I LOVED the mixed greens and dried cranberries combined with the turkey and overall, it is a nice tribute to a strong, thoughtful woman with a powerful interest in human rights and who, incidentally, made Rochester her home. Comfortable, relaxing, cozy environment. Beautifully mismatched seating. Great location and free parking although the parking can be tricky at times. Overall, it’s close to 4 stars which is enough for me to make my way back here the next time I’m in the area.
