Great spot for lunch when downtown. Very clean place & they have a huge variety of subs. I always stop here when I’m hungry & it never disappoints.

There are so many delicious subs to try at DiPisa’s … but I’m so enamored by their chicken parm, I never order anything else. The other reviewers are right — DiPisa’s does subs right. Fresh bread(which they only-sometimes run out of by the time I get lunch at 2), fresh cookies, fresh cannolis. In the dearth of lunch places around Washington Square Park, this is definitely a hit. FWIW, they don’t take discover.

Legitimately awesome subs. I had worked at Excellus on Court St for years before I tried this place. Honestly it was only when my husband started getting breakfast subs there and said they were amazing that I even considered it. Then 8 months later another coworker mentioned it to me and I finally tried it. Wow! I had really been missing out on a delicious lunch option downtown. First of all, the sub rolls are so good. Ultra fresh. Baked fresh daily, apparently. My husband goes every Friday morning for a breakfast sub; he gets turkey, pepper jack cheese, crushed red pepper and egg on a plain sub roll. My favorite lunch sub is the vegetable melazagna with the pesto mayo. So delicious! I like it on the herb roll. They also have a great one with chicken cheese and pesto and maybe marinara I think? Very good. You can of course design your own and they have tons of fresh ingredients to compose the perfect sandwich. This place is so good I almost wish I had never tried it because the subs are HUGE and super filling and I crave one at least once a week. They don’t reheat great, so rather than eat half I usually stuff myself and have a tiny dinner. Getting someone to split one with you(unless you’re super hungry) would be preferable. Also they’re open till 3pm which is perfect if you work through the normal lunch hour and get hungry mid-afternoon.

Don’t you tempt me with a good time! I work on State Street and I walk between two buildings every day about 45 times. In between these two buildings sits Dipisa’s…Ahhhhhhhhh(That’s me singing the glory song!). It is so hard not to go there ever single day for a sub! You might be thinking, «ugh another sub place is Rochester.» Stop that right now! Their bread is delicious, their steak sub is made to perfection, and their homemade cookies, to die for! I always get a turkey sub, or a steak sub… it’s hard for me to stray since these are both so delicious. Their Italian herb bread is perfect and if I get the turkey sub, I get olive oil and vinegar on it. This is the only place I do that, it’s just so good! They also have the most amazing chicken and dumpling soup, but if you want, you better get there before 1pm, or they will be out of it! It reminds me of my grandma’s chicken and dumpling! Hummm…maybe I will stop by tomorrow.

I love me some subs… especially now that I got back from the West Coast. Subs are just not a West Coast thing. DiBella’s, I love you, but DiPisa, I heart you more! Yes, you heard me right. I heart you more! Wow, their subs are delicious, hearty and creative. For example, the nr 1: Prosciutto, Mozzarella, Basil and To-mat. What… how can you not enjoy that. Okay, you don’t like the Procshooot… no worries they’ve got chicken, turkey, tuna, and shaved steak. Don’t forget to add some roasted red peppers too. Homemade soups and yum! I have to say they don’t have the best cookies compared to DiBella’s(Otis Spunkmeyer) but I will forgo the cookies for the amazing subs. You must give it a try.
