Got the fajita wrap and was not very impressed. It was soggy and just ok. It’s downtown on state street and not to far from the job. The lady who was taking orders was kind of rude, she was really rude to my feelings who was a little indecisive, I can see how that would irritate her but what I can’t see is how she could be rude with her career!

After standing on line at the small, HOT and crowded Dunkin Donuts down the street. I decided to venture to Grill and Greens. To my suprise it turned into my regular morning breakfast spot for my last stay at the Holiday Inn formerly Rochester Plaza. Conveniently located directly across the street from the hotel I came here everymorning 4 days straight for the BLT on whole wheat and it became my start of the day energy boost… I can say that they will replace my morning Dunkin Donut stop when I come to Rochester.

I didn’t want my lunch so I opted to try this place out. It is a simple no frills place that cranks out some yummy options. I got a chicken parm sandwich with a drink and some chips. It was just under $ 10.00 and super filling. There was no line so I was able to quickly order. I ordered for there and they brought my lunch right out to me. There is a seating area with ample tables chairs. The staff was very friendly and efficient. I will come here again if I want a sandwich or sub, it is good food, good service and a pretty good price.

No-nonsense downtown grub. I’m a BIG fan of their salad bar. 2 sizes, 3 kinds of lettuce to choose from(romaine, field mix, iceberg) and then your choice of 5 toppings. They have all the good stuff. For an additional charge you can add super tender grilled chicken and they do NOT skimp. You almost get more chicken than lettuce. Plus their dressing cups are XL. Customer service can be a mixed bag: I have had both good and indifferent. They also have hot sandwiches, soups, subs, and wraps. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger and fries when I brought him by. Ok, I enjoyed his fries as well. They also carry regular and sugar-free Red Bull. 5 stars for efficiency and value.

Grill and Greens offers a large salad bar where you pick the toppings that you want on your order. They also have a grill section that offers fried food, sandwiches, wraps etc. along with catering service as well. It is a perfect lunch spot for people looking for a healthier option downtown.

Grill and Greens(G&G) is another of my favorite downtown eating spots. Located in the Ellwanger and Barry Building across the street from the Crowne Plaza Hotel, G&G has fast counter-top service and an array of food options. These options include salad, soup, burgers, wraps and sandwiches. The salad bar here is top-notch, as it features a vast assortment of different vegetables and also, for a bit extra, freshly grilled chicken. The price of salad is extremely reasonable. For about five dollars, you get five toppings and your choice of greens(lettuce, mixed greens, spinach). And for about a dollar more, you get a larger salad with seven toppings. Whenever I go, however, I always opt for the smaller salad and I am always satisfied. On my last visit, I ordered the Ali Baba Wrap. This is G&G’s take on a greek-style wrap, featuring grilled chicken, feta, cucumbers, caramelized red onions, lettuce and tomato. The size of this bad boy was enormous — it was an almost burrito-like wrap. Prominent were the huge chunks of chicken and the feta, which seemed to pervade every bite. Atop the chicken, the caramelized red onions were spread judiciously and cleverly counter-balanced the sour feta. This wrap was interesting because the chicken and onions were warm, but the remainder of the wrap was not. But I actually found that to be a good thing because the chicken gently warmed the feta, making the cheese softer and less crumbly. With an array of food options, good wraps, fast counter-top service and a comfortable dining area, I love G&G. If there’s one complaint I have its that the burgers and wraps can be a bit pricy. My wrap cost $ 6.75, and it did not come with chips, just a dill pickle. But with generous amounts of chicken and feta, you certainly get a bang for your buck at G&G. Four stars.

Bill catered our team’s closing 4⁄15 luncheon on Saturday April 13 and it was fantastic. He did several meat lasagna trays along with a veggie option, and a huge bowl full of leafy green salad and trimmings, garlic bread and a steaming crock pot filled with a hearty red sauce and meat balls that were outstanding. Our team loved this buffet and I would highly recommend Grill and Greens Catering to others.
