Tonight we tried out Bar Louie in Town Square. The bartenders Katie and Ian were fantastic!!! They are both very friendly and really made my wife and I feel like this was our usual bar. The drinks were made perfectly! We will definitely be back!!!

My first bar experience in Rockville started off bad and ended worse. The first drink order I put in was awful. I could not finish the mojito it tasted so awful. It was made in front of me and tasted as if it had been made hours earlier. The drink was watered down and seemed to be made with old limes and old mint leaves. It lacked the crisp sweet taste a mojito should have. My girlfriend was insulted by the bartender who asked why she wouldn’t just open a tab instead of closing the tab each time. If a tip is being left each time why are you questioning the request of a customer, are you kidding. The friend who invited me to this bar was also questioned about his tip and told personally that it wasn’t good enough. If you are ever served by Katie ask for another bartender. Other than the service I enjoyed the music and layout of the bar.

I’ve been here twice, on Saturday night and weekday night with a live band. Food is great and LOVE the fact that there are no kids! But what kills it is: 1. Drinks are weak, you are better off buying shots or beer. 2. Pricey drinks and food. They need to advertise their«specials» online or something. 3. Service is a hit or miss.

Would be a decent brunch spot if the mimosas were stronger. $ 10 is a good price for bottomless but not for straight up orange juice. Food was good, service was great. Also great outdoor seating for a nice day.

$ 1.00 Burger Tuesday’s! I like my meat cooked medium, but it was served well done. The crispy tater tots kinda made up for it, tho. Also, you gotta try the S’mores martini! YUM!

One of my go-to HH places! Staff is great, drinks are great! Just wish they would add margaritas to their happy hour menu!

It’s self-seating! The place is laid back and relaxed. The staff has been friendly and attentive. Food is just okay, but not terribly.

I think this place has the potential to be great! Due to self seating, it would be nice to have a server present to check in with diners. Great layout. Visited last night with friends. Servers walking the floors and attending to tables seemed cold, distant and uninterested. Ordered pinot noir. It was delicious. Did not order any food, as we had dinner at a nearby restaurant. The overall vibe of patrons ranged from old trashy bar flies, old heads listening to Kool Moe Dee and still trying to wear FUBU, while spitting their best one liners at you, to the middle aged suburgatory dwellers and soccer moms, to young adults. Funny, eclectic crowd. Will try again in the Summer.

While I haven’t tried the food yet, the bartender can make a mean Sidecar, Sazerac and Old Fashioned. I like to think I’m an old soul, so anyone who can make me a strong classic cocktail gets a 5⁄5 stars in my book.

Bar Louie… one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. This restaurant is in Rockville Town Center. My first expression from the exterior was a fun and cute place to grab a bite and a drink. Welp I was definitely fooled. My friend and I decided to come here on a nice spring day because of there outdoor seating area. After looking over the menu we chose to share the calamari as an appetizer. It was presented in a tall V shaped bowl. We were pretty excited to see how much we got, nope. After eating about 5 of them we realized they were sitting on a bed of lettuce. I mean 70% of the bowl was filled with lettuce. Well after that heartbreak I decided I needed a drink and that maybe it would make up for the lost food. I ordered a dirty martini, and the name really describes what I was presented with-a dirty martini glass. There was black specks throughout my drink, disgusting. For some reason I kept giving them another shot. I order a flatbread pizza. I figured who can mess up pizza, right? Well Bar Louie sure can. My pizza was soggy. When I picked up a slice it all flopped to one side. There was no crunch in any bite I took. Not only that, but it was pretty cold too. If you think that’s the worst of it, well your wrong. The service was horrendous. When my friend and I first sat at our table-which is self seating by the way. The waitress approached us and greeted us by saying«hi» and then just staring for a moment. Later throughout our meal she was very distant. When she presented our food she did not come back to check on us but once. The one time she did, I politely asked her for some hot sauce for my atrocious pizza. Well I’m down to my last piece and my waitress is no where to be found. Finally when she came back to bring our check-not even asking if we wanted anything else-she looked at me and in disappointed said«oh I forgot the hot sauce.» The inattentive service paired with the disgusting food. Highly do not recommend.

I have been here twice. Most recently went on a Tuesday for a get together of about six people of a networking group to which I belong. We sat at the bar. The service from the bar tenders was fantastic. Drinks were always full and they frequently checked to see if anything was needed. We had the Thai Chicken Flatbread and Trio Chips and Dip appetizers. Both were delicious. While a few of us arrived around 4/4:30pm which is part of Happy Hour, you can’t order $ 1 burgers until 5pm. When it came time to order it turns out while you can get a burger for $ 1, it is just for a plain burger. If you want anything on the burger there are additional charges which can add up. The bartender suggested doing the $ 4.50 burger which is the $ 1 burgers upgraded for an additional $ 3.50 to a specially burger with fries. I got the sense that most people do this so expect your burger to be $ 4.50 and not $ 1. The burger was okay — not great. The bun was not as soft as I might prefer. And as burgers go I would have preferred a Five Guys from next door for just a bit more money. I will certainly go back to Bar Louie for the atmosphere, great service and delicious appetizers but will probably skip the burgers.

Absolutely the worst experience prices too high employee suck. The place is never filled with people. they are done. Must be losing money each month. You can dress it up and it’s still a pig!!! This trashy place with low class help is a No Go Mellow mushroom bar, Finnegan Irish Pub, and world of beers coming soon. They will close this location down. Ask anyone in the industry I know of 3 or more employees ready to leave and go with one the winning new bars Can’t wait to see them lose more money in Rockville town center. the liquor board is watching them for numerous violations both American tap and bar Louie are close to the end

Cool décor and often friendly staff. Drinks are usually either water down or super sweet. Food is sub par and often feels heavy.

Visited mid-day, mid-week and the place was almost empty. Ordered chicken breast sliders and the meat was not fully cooked. Service was ok but we were seated in a booth near the kitchen and we could hear arguing and cussing from the employees in the back. I’m sure that this place gets most of its revenue from happy hour or game days. Not impressed.

I’m typically not one to part take in chain restaurants but this is one of the few places I have to admit is pretty good! I came here with a group of coworkers for heir happy hour(M-F 5 – 7!) and the specials are pretty sweet. $ 3 drafts, $ 4 wines and 50% of specialty martinis and half priced flatbreads and select appetizers. Our whole group ordered a spread of quesadillas, wings, calamari and flatbreads — all were pretty good! Our server was super attentive and friendly! Something I appreciate given how busy it can get during happy hour. I was not disappointed! We were there for quite some time. And towards the end of the night there is a live DJ(Friday’s and Saturday’s only I believe). Totally felt like I was in a club! I’m not ashamed to say I’ll be back for another happy hour here!

Don’t let the fancy-ish interior and stylish ambience fool you from their awful service and subpar food. Despite the whole place being self-seating(according to the sign at the door), the server acknowledged us right away(albeit very, VERY awkwardly). Even though it seems like the establishment sets themselves up as THE spot to be at to enjoy a few brews and a casual dinner, it misses the mark on a lot of key things a good bar needs. One major thing Bar Louie needs to improve on is the quality of food. They try to have items on their menu that stray away from typical bar food(sliders, wings, etc.), but the execution and presentation of the food falls extremely short. I ordered the crusted lemon chicken and a basket of their crispy calamari. The crusted lemon chicken came with a Parmesan-breaded chicken breast, a rice pilaf, and a few veggies. When the plate got to my table, the presentation didn’t look very appetizing. The veggies were limp and too oily, with a very noticeable butter taste. The vegetables were glistening in butter and a little dingy looking. To add insult to injury, the rice was in rock-hard clusters. It’s like the rice didn’t retain any moisture to keep it soft and edible. The part of the pilaf I did try that wasn’t as hard as concrete, was flavorless! I’m not sure what I was expecting, but for a place that’s in the middle of town center I was surely expecting something better than what I got. To top it off, the chicken was flavorless and the breading was spongy. I feel like this didn’t really pair well with the Parmesan sauce because it made the crust soggy and unappetizing. Cutting the chicken open, I found out that there were some uncooked, pink areas. Not good at all. The only saving grace was the calamari. Even that was a little tough and rubbery, and more than half the basket was filled with iceberg lettuce. Such a disappointment. The service was abysmal. The waitress wasn’t very personable and disappeared for basically the entire meal. The one moment she did check up on us, she asked if we needed anything only to not be seen again. I was not impressed about my experience here. The service was non-existent, the food was grotesque, and there wasn’t anything special to set Bar Louie apart from your typical place for casual dining & drinks. I literally didn’t even finish all of my food because it wasn’t edible. I left feeling WAY too underwhelmed about this place. Bar Louie? Yeah, um no thanks.

After working on a painting at my art school, I was hungry and had my eyes set out on Bar Louie since I haven’t been there in over 3 years. As you enter the restaurant, there’s a sign saying to seat yourself. At every table, there’s menus with up to four menus. My mom and I wanted to sit at a regular table but the restaurant was very smoky by the kitchen so we ended up sitting at a high top table near the bar. In my opinion, they have a great happy hour menu — $ 3.25 for beers, $ 4.25 for wines by the glass, $ 5.25 for specialty cocktails, and half priced flatbreads and selected appetizers. The food and service was good but the woman’s bathroom needed to be maintained better — toilets were clogged and it smelled like mold /mildew. Our server Allie was friendly, polite, and attentive. I liked how she reminded us that happy hour was ending in 15 minutes and asked if we wanted to add anything. For drinks, I’d recommend the S’mores and Strawberry Peach Bellini. The Strawberry Peach Bellini consisted of strawberry flavored vodka, prosecco, white peach purée, and pure cane syrup, and it was garnished with three fresh raspberries. It was sweet and fruity but quite strong at the same time. For food, we shared a Roasted Vegetable Flatbread, Backyard Burger, and Monaco Salad. The Roasted Vegetable Flatbread consisted of a flatbread brushed with a fresh spinach and artichoke sauce and topped with tomato, mushroom, basil, balsamic onions, provolone, and mozzarella. I liked how it was a white pizza and that it was perfect for sharing. Since Tuesday is $ 1 burger with the purchase of a beverage, I was contemplating between a Backyard Burger and Portobella Burger and went with the Backyard Burger but didn’t realized it was an additional $ 3.50. The Backyard Burger consisted of a thick beef patty topped with tangy BBQ sauce, a slice of cheddar cheese, and fried onion strings. It usually comes with bacon but since I’m allergic to pork I had to skip it.?It came on a toasted sweet bun with tomato and pickles. For the side, you had a choice of seasoned tots, fries, or salad(for an additional fee). I chose tots seasoned with potato seasoning which made it salt and peppery. The Monaco Salad consisted of field greens, apple, red grapes, red and yellow grape tomatoes, and cucumber tossed in a homemade vinaigrette. I liked how the vinaigrette was sweet, tart, and creamy! I’m definitely returning here… since it’s diagonally across from my art school :)

First — once we sat down and we were not acknowledged until we flagged a server’s attention. Then– the dollar burger promotion is a dis genuine promotion. They charge you anywhere from 25 cents to 50 cents for toppings/sauces and then 4 dollars for fries –_-. Ridiculous. Lastly, when I asked about the beers on tap, the sever had no idea how much they costed and the menu didn’t say either. Be better folks. You get one star for that!

My go to bar if I want a chill hang out place with friends. The dirty martini is always on point. I love that they use blue cheese olives(my favorite!!). Their calamari is pretty good, standard, nothing too special. Their tater tots kill me though. They know how to make me gain 20lbs in one sitting. Especially when I decide to get them fully loaded. But hey, a girl’s gotta have some carbs to soak up the dirty martinis she’s going to order right? Other than that they have open seating so you seat yourself and a server will come and take your order. They also have a live band on the weekends. Pretty solid crowd I’d say. I always have a good time when I’m here.
