My wife was informed during her last visit that today she would get a sonogram and possibly see the sex of the child. Accordingly, my wife wanted me there. Her appointment time was 11:20. I head off from work, inform my secretary that I’ll be back in a hour and a half of so and head off to Metroplex Women’s Care(«MWC») with my wife. We arrive at 11:10 — my wife fills out everything and we wait… and wait… and wait… FORFORTYMINUTESWEWAIT without being seen. What is the point of having an 11:20 appointment time if MWC is going to make you wait for 40 minutes just to be seen? Then, we were informed that my wife had been misinformed about genetic testing, she was previously told that it was no longer available to us because it was too late. When we got there today, we were asked if we wanted genetic screening. My wife and I research everything so — we had to decline because we had not had a chance to review all the literature out there, again, because my wife was told it was too late to get genetic screening. Next, we were informed we would not be seeing my wife’s doctor, nor would we have a sonogram done — in fact, I’m sitting here writing this wondering why the hell we went there in the fist place. The majority of the time was spent with the PA talking to my wife about what was covered in her first visit. Then, when I raised the issue about the 40 minute wait time, I was told by the PA that that was just to be expected and if we had an issue with the wait time, then perhaps we should try a different clinic. What the hell? What kind of business actively encourages their clients to go to a competitor?! She tried to state that the doctors were busy with emergency issues — well, we didn’t see a doctor — so a doctor being pulled away for an emergency should have had no bearing on our appointment whatsoever. We have a follow up appointment in two weeks — where, so I was told, we will get a sonogram and hopefully see the sex of the child. But honestly, my wife and I are looking at other clinics… this place seems to care far too little about their patients, in our experience, to continue my wife’s treatment there. If the staff and clinic are run like this, then we are not sure we should trust the quality of care provided either.

Dr. Slabas is the best doctor I’ve ever had in my life. She is the friendliest and most personable doctor I’ve ever had. She made me feel so comfortable and didn’t rush anything. She talked to me for at least twenty minutes during my appointment, making sure that I was totally educated. Best Women’s Care doctors office ever!
