25 minute wait for leg and thighs. I wouldn’t of ordered if they would of told me that at the counter. Instead they tell me 10 minutes after i already bought all the stuff. A notice beforehand would of been nice.

This is the only El Pollo Loco I’ve been to that charged me to substitute pinto beans for black beans in a burrito. Not happy.

Horrible experience. My mom got the worst case of food poisoning from having the salad. I know it was the salad because we both ate here and I didn’t get sick, but after having some of the salad, I got sick too — just not as badly. I guess redesigning their menu didn’t help things.

I am not a frequent pollo loco goer. I think the food is over priced for the quality and quantity you receive. This one specifically is terrible. Service is ok, they welcome you, but the chicken taste overcooked and burned to the bone. I don’t know how people can eat overly burnt flavored foods. Maybe this is your preference… Also make sure your don’t get overcharged. The menu prices are false advertising. Ever since I’ve noticed the fact they overcharged me and didn’t care to refund the overcharged amount. This is why I no longer go. Make sure you check what they are charging you before you pay, unless you don’t mind getting taken advantage of. Screw this place.

Food is good, but the reason I like to come back is for the great service. I always feel welcome and I leave satisfied! Thank you!

Damn this El Pollo loco, they owe me 10 bucks! First thing first if you come here, parking can be hella bad since it in a little mini mart where there is an Asian Market and such.
However, my negativity with this el pollo loco, is because the workers cant do simple math. My bill came out to 12 something, instead of giving them 13 bucks, which I regret not doing, I gave them 22, because I wanted to break a 20 and get 10 bucks back. Well instead of 10 bucks back I got just change and the receipt. I wish I had checked to see that I got a 10 back, but I was too busy grabbing salsa to think about this.
After I got home, I realized what happened when I went to check my wallet and I checked the receipt where it stated I gave them 13 bucks instead of 20. I didnt feel like going back to that el pollo loco, since I was home and spending with family, so I decided to call customer support. The person who answered seemed to be surprised to even get a call. I gave her my info, the time and date, the restaurant number, order number and what had occurred. She stated that The store or someone from corporate, dont remember who, would give me a call or email as I provided that info. Its been more than a week and never heard back from them… So thus looks like Ive lost 10 bucks. Hate u Rosemead Pollo Loco!

So many problems with this el pollo loco location! First, I ordered the $ 20 family meal and asked to replace pinto beans with black beans. When she was bagging the bag, she had given me pinto beans, and I had to reassure her that I got black beans. Second, I ordered a small Mac n cheese and noticed that I didn’t get it when I got home (My mistake). Third, the Churros didn’t come with any sugar!!! The lady was really nice but super forgetful!

After KFC’s fried rat news, we decided to eat el pollo loco. Ordered their 3 course family meal today, good service, yummy food, but too bad We found a bug in their rice. Where’s all the clean restaurants?

Compared to the El Pollo Loco in Alhambra, this EPL is a gem. I’m surprised to see all the negative reviews, but I might have just came at a good day/​time.
Originally, we were going to have EPL Saturday night, but when my family arrived at the EPL in Alhambra, they were understaffed, the salsa bar was almost empty and several other customers in line were complaining. Not to mention, my sister saw an order of their salad and mentioned there was just a couple pieces of lettuce inside. The container was barely even half filled with food!
When we arrived on a Sunday evening around 6:30pm, there were only about 3 other customers inside. No lines ordering food and the girl helping us was friendly. We ordered a 10 piece chicken, large side of mac & cheese, 5 bags of extra tortilla, and an avocado café salad. All our food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The only downside is they gave us the wrong bags of tortilla (too many corn, not enough flour) and the chicken in the salad was really dry.
The parking lot is shared amonst Big Saver and some other smaller tenants. Parking closeby might be a bit of a struggle, but it’s not terrible.

okay location. It depends on which staff members was working that day. At times, I come in and they didn’t refill the salsa station or wipe it down to keep it neat and clean. Today the service was fast. But the person forgot to add napkins. It’s frustration since I was eating it in the car on my way to a meeting. I would given them a 2 stars but at times, the staff are really friendly and attentive.

Came by to grab a quick bit to eat for dinner and they were closed. It was 9:40pm and their hours state they close at 10pm??? The only reason I came over was because I knew I still had time to place an order. I guess I was wrong. That’s why I’m giving them such a low rating. No customer service.

If I could give them zero I would have. Worst salad I’ve ever had. The lettuce/​kale was yellowish brown and old. I paid for extra chicken and I got 5 cube pieces of chicken and a bunch of crumbs. Don’t waste your money in this place.

Okay now this is the nastiest pollo loco I’ve ever been to. I think it’s privately owned because all the orders are small and they water down there sauces. The food tases old and dried out I even gave back my macaroni&cheese because it looked like a blob of dried up nacho cheese. I will never go back to this place I advise everyone to STAY AWAY!

This location is in a seedy shopping plaza that offers little available parking.
Ordered the Carne asada tacos thinking that they grill a decent chicken why wouldn’t they grill up some good beef too? Man was I wrong.
The tacos were cold & messy. They had some sort of creamy dressing, salsa, & avocado. The only thing they were missing was Carne asada — the tacos had 5 small chunks of meat each.
Over all skip the new additions to the menu & stick w/​the grilled chicken meals.

Food was good, but I’m reviewing based on the service. The cashier served me with a smile and as I was eating, another server came to me with a tray full of
Salt, pepper, handwipes and a mint. Sounds like no big deal, but I’m trying to recall any restaurant let alone fast food chain has done this for me and I can’t think of one incident. Really cool!

I’ve been coming to this El Pollo Loco for lunch on Wednesday for years and years. It’s a fast food restaurant, so I understand that the food is just average, at best. I see the same employees, so you figured they would maybe get my order correct. Guess not. First off, service is slow. They usually have one or two cashiers ringing and a few others working in the back or getting our food.
Anyway, I don’t always order the same thing, but most often, I’d get the salad with my meal. And every time I get the salad, I ask for no cheese. You would think that’d be an easy order for them to fill. Yeah, you would think. 90% of the time, there would be cheese in my salad, which I’ll have to try and remove. I don’t get it, I mean if you actually repeated my order and even restated that I don’t want cheese on the salad, don’t you think my salad should come out with no cheese?
Aside from them getting my order wrong 90% of the time and slow service, it’s not a bad place to eat. At least staff is friendly. If you come to this EPL, just make sure that your order is extremely easy to fill.
