Getting around to a few reviews on here. New to Sacramento and enjoying trying new places to eat & drink at! Firestone Public House was a bit of a disappointment. Maybe it was timing… long wait for us to get seated. Service was a bit slow. However the food was good and good selection of beers. We’ll be back!

Starting with the good I’ll say the beer and wine selection was nice. The food however isn’t anything special. I had the fish tacos which were meh. The tater tot nacho thing which my friend ordered shouldn’t be on the menu. When I go out, I want at least one of two things, food I wouldn’t or couldn’t make at home and/or an experience that makes me want to return. I got neither.

Ordered the Philly Cheese Stake sandwich. I was really disappointed with it. The«steak» was kind of rubbery, and had no flavor whatsoever. I had to keep adding salt and pepper to it to give it some kind of taste. The«nacho cheese» sauce on it was runny, and tasteless as well. Cheese sauce? Really? What, No fresh mozzarella, or provolone available? ??? We sat outside, and two guys sitting at a table next to us had some kind of pit-bull mix dog tied up to their table and was constantly barking at a dog that some other people had at their table. How can you enjoy a meal with this going on? These were clearly not service dogs. One dog even urinated under its table, and the owners didn’t even notice. Gross. I don’t even know why dogs are even allowed in restaurants.

Ambience: Very loud, but that is to be expected for a sports bar. Wide variety of patrons, from full suits to painters, 20something bros to older folks. Furniture is newer, and it’s very clean. Lots of TVs. Service: Our server, Ashley, was great. We came to watch the game, and she never let our drinks go fully empty or our stomachs grow hungry. Fairly fast food as well. Food: I ordered the happy hour wings, lobster pizza, and avocado egg rolls. The portions were very large, especially for happy hour appetizers. I was impressed with the value. The taste didn’t blow my mind, and the avocado rolls were missing the black beans. The kitchen claimed that they were in the mix, but just not a lot added. We had two orders, with 8 rolls total– none had black beans, so this was a fib. But overall, it was good food, good portions, and reasonable price.

My area VP of Sales was in town for a district visit and wanted to catch a great place to see the NBA Playoffs. I have visited Firestone Public House many times before and found it to be a great social atmosphere. I had stopped in a bit early to get a table knowing it would be busy for the game. The rest of my party hadn’t arrived yet but I checked in and waited 20 minutes for the others to arrive. When I went back up front and told them we were all here it appeared that they had never put me on the list. They quickly added me and said we would get the next table up. From that point on we stood there, and stood there, and stood there. After three more tables were seated they told us we were next up. Finally, after a few more tables were seated in front of us a table opened up and we thought we were going to be seated. NOT! I went back again and they told us that it is just the way it was. They were following their seating list and their manager was adding other names in front of ours to the list.(one happened to be the Mayor) So in all, we waited nearly two hours to find out our business was not as important as somebody else’s. We finally left and went next store to de Veres Irish Pub where we found their staff to be much more helpful and accommodating. Should get one star for very poor customer service. I’ll give them two for the TV’s available to watch the game on.

After a late event in Sacramento, about 8 of us adults came here for a late dinner and a few drinks. The restaurant was full of college students. We were here for dinner and a few drinks. The wait was only about 30min four party of 8. Most of the customers were at the bar. It’s kind of loud inside but we were ok with it. The crowd seemed cool. The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive. They made a mistake in our order but she kindly replaced it. One waiter brought us some fries by mistake and came back after a minute, or two, to take it back. Other restaurants would have left it as courtesy. The food was really good. We had a couple orders of their wings. Their waffle fries is very tasteful. No need for ketchup. The grilled ribeye was cook just right and the braised beef shortribs was good and soft. We parked in a paid-parking lot about 3 blocks from the restaurant(close to the Memorial Auditorium) but there seems a be a lot across the street. However, I don’t know if it’s free. They do offer valet parking… for a fee, of course. Overall, it was a great experience. The service and food was great.

Made my way out of Davis and found this cool spot which was perfect for a Warriors game and happy hour. My friends and I got here around 5:00, just early enough to get seats for the game and to make it for happy hour. This place got really packed right before game time so get in there early to get a table. Has lots of bar seating and tables and tons of TVs. We were in the appetizer mood and skipped the entrees. We got the pulled pork nachos, ahi tune poke wontons, buffalo chicken wings and a pretzel. Pulled pork nachos were amazing. I’m not usually a fan of nachos but the pork was super crispy and flavorful. The spicy ranch had a nice kick to it but not overwhelmingly spicy. The chips were topped with tons of cheese, beans, guac, salsa, and other goodness. We enhaled those nachos. The ahi tuna poke was good as well. I liked the mango bits in it but found it to be too peppery as a whole. Not horribly but a little a strong tasting. The buffalo chicken wings were tiny but super yummy and crispy. The pretzel is where it’s at though! Could definitely share between three people because it was so huge. Really doughy and warm and salty. Aside from the nachos, this was the highlight of my night. They offered a great selection of beers. I like how they split up their beers into different categories from light to dark. Makes choosing a beer a bit more easier for someone like me who isn’t super informed on beers. They had great cocktails as well! The Sac Refresher is indeed refreshing. Kinda like a moscow mule with cucumbers. Overall, a great find! This place is a bit on the pricier side(when it’s not happy hour) but the food and drinks are great and it has a great vibe. You won’t be disappointed!

I enjoy their food here. Great place to chill at the bar and/or watch a game. Bartenders hold great conversation and are very nice. This was one of the first place my boyfriend and I went to eat when we moved to Sac 5 months ago. Veggie sandwich is great, fries are good, wings are excellent, the big pretzel is must have!

Not bad for our first try! I called as we were parking, asking what the wait for two was and the lady at the front desk said«25 – 30 minutes and no call ahead seating». Which was fine because we were just outside looking for parking. We walked right in and were seated right away(there were plenty of open tables). Kind of made me feel like the host was trying to turn away business over the phone.

Firestone Public House is located in the former California Pizza Kitchen on the corner of 16th& L in midtown Sacramento. This is a quintessential sports bar with lots of giant televisions playing every sports game with lots of cold beer and hot appetizers to make any gathering head into overtime. The restaurant is dominated by the central bar with an impressive selection of draught beers, including a decent selection of local beers. The menu is very guy-centric given their clientele, but they kept the pizza oven from the old CPK which still cranks out nice pizza options. We sampled several appetizers off their Happy Hour menu including nacho tots, avocado egg rolls, and several pizzas. Everything is good, but not great here. This is a great place to take a group, but there are just so many other sports bars with more soul and better crowds. If you love sports and are in your 20’s or like watching those in their 20’s, this is your mecca.

Nice Stop To Meet Up With Friends For Happy Hour, But Extremely Noisy SITREP This is a bar-restaurant. But mainly a Bar. And when I say«bar», I mean a SPORTS bar, because it has tons of TVs with tons of games on. And the broadcasts are loud, so the conversations need to be JUST as loud if you want to be able to communicate. THESETUP My work-friends Colleen and Kelly, and myself found ourselves coming in for Happy Hour, and we they sat at the bar because there were two(2) seats available. I stood behind them, but the girls put in for a table since they did not want me standing the whole time. MUNCHIES While at the bar, we did a round of Hefs and an order of the Pulled-Pork Nachos and an order of their steak enchiladas. The pint beers were quite refreshing, and the food was quite good. Our table came up when we were about half way through both the beers and the munchies(and at this point, since Kelly was treating, she just closed her tab with the bartender), and whereupon sitting at the table we finished out beers(didn’t order any more alcohol beverages) and finished out munchies(and didn’t order any more food). QUICKTIME We got waters, and that was it. Upon leaving, I left a $ 5 at the table for our server since she was quite diligent coming back and checking up on us to see how we were doing. By this time, however, we were already plotting our escape to another venue. THELOWDOWN A very enjoyable happy hour if you can handle the loud noise level.

Chill place to watch sports. I checked out Firestone with some friends this past weekend. Watching the Kings lose to the Sharks was no Bueno but I love that the games are easy to watch here. Huge bar area in the central part of the restaurant — very nice. We ordered all apps, the nachos were tasty. Wings were 3/5, but fish and chips were not quite as good. Good place to hang out with the bros!

This place is as cliché of a «public house» that’s hit the trendy wave since 2012… but that’s why we love it. Great open space, perfect for watching any kind of sports game… and let’s be honest the people watching and patrons are on point too. The food and drinks are standard for public house food with a slight classier twist. The ahi tuna burger was legit and if you order a taster flight of beers you get a dominantly-sized bavarian pretzel for free… and wow is that thing scrumptious. Always busy and filled with folks wanting to enjoy the scene. The bar is a focal point in the middle with a good amount of seating. In the heart of downtown with plenty of other bars to hop to as well. Get out there you trendy thang.

Unfortunately, last time I came here completely changed my perception of this place. For the first time since my wife and I had both kids, we had an evening free to ourselves. Showed up about 4p for a drink. We were seated immediately. After 15 minutes of waiting and both tables on either side of us(that arrived afterwards) being asked what they wanted to drink, we decided to get up and leave. Having worked in the industry(and my mom still does!), I understand that mistakes happen. As we were leaving we informed the hostess that we weren’t even acknowledged. She told us to have a nice day. I was bummed… I really like the food and drink here… but I think service was lacking quite a bit this day. They weren’t even busy. I assume service will be better next time and I’ll update my review then,

Wanted to check this place since it’s pretty popular in the Sacramento area. The food was okay! I wouldn’t say it’s delicious, but it’s not bad. Tuna poke: 2⁄5 — WAYTOOSALTY. The soy sauce was like dripping while I was eating it. I wasn’t a fan and I wouldn’t call this poke. Fried Chicken: 3.5÷5 — SUPEROILY. But they had big portions and if you’re hungry, let me tell you, you probably wouldn’t finish this either. Nachos: 3⁄5 — I thought they tasted okay. There wasn’t enough cheese and too many chips. Linguine with clams: 3⁄5 — Although it was a huge serving, I didn’t feel like there was a wow factor to this pasta dish. I think I’d prefer spaghetti. Service was good, waiter came back frequently but didn’t recommend such great items for us.

This place is such a beautiful surprise! Their atmosphere is nice and has very open windows. Their happy hour is ridiculously cheap! Their nachos are $ 5 – 6 and can feed at least 2 or more people. It also has a bunch of pork and so many toppings. Their pizza isn’t amazing but still tasty and affordable I was surprised at how crispy and well fried their wings were also! Yum! Service was friendly! Had a decent beer selection also :) Would come back for sure

Came here for the first time for brunch with the boyfriend. Got seated quickly and the servers were really nice. I ordered the Pulled Pork Benefict, and it was pretty good. Only problem was one of my eggs were over poached, but the Benedict was still good. We both got bottomless mimosas and let me tell you — the waiters make sure your glass isn’t empty! They will keep refilling :) Overall — good brunch place, will def come again!

I made quite a blunder when I posted a review for Firestone and accidentally wrote about an experience at Cornerstone. Let me fix my former review. Firestone is great. Cornerstone is crap. Firestone is in a great location, they have great service, and the menu is fantastic. The establishment is very clean and the food tastes very fresh. I recommend going here for brunch, lunch, or an evening meal. Yes, it’s an awesome place to go for a night out, but I’m a huge foodie. The garlic chicken and pesto pizzas are fantastic. For drinks, check out the FPH Old Fashioned or the Sour Patch Kid. I haven’t had the grilled cheese yet, but I’ve heard it’s bomb! This place is great and Jon Taffer(Bar Rescue) would be impressed.

I really, really like Firestone! The environment is great, and the food is delicious! My favorite place to sit is at the bar so you can watch the game, but unfortunately it was packed and people didn’t look like they were moving anytime soon. I ordered the chilaquiles which are absolutely amazing! Always my go to when it’s breakfast time! I could do without the egg, but I eat it for the protein because there are steady so many carbs. Lol… The boyfriend got a chicken sandwich that I didn’t taste but he said it was really good. His criss cut fries when comparable to the originals(Carl’s Jr. Lol) which was yummy! I couldn’t stop eating them! Being that there was a football game playing when they went and we finished eating and continued drinking, the server was awesome and patient. He kept coming back to check on us and made sure we had everything! Big kudos for him, so we left an extra big tip!

On November 28th, 2015, Saturday night, I was heading to Downtown after work from Roseville to experience my night out pleasures. As dinner has started hours ago, I decided to dine in here at this place which it has over 900 Unilocal reviews so far. It called, «Firestone Public House.» This Firestone delivers what sports bar is all about from various of HD televisions which surrounds the whole room, so you can watch and support your team here! The concept is very Vegas-y sports betting room feel on it filled with industrial designs inside. The employees from bartenders to servers are doing ok here as I welcomed at the bar. The problem about the service is they totally scattered it up which it’s very busy for some particular scheduled games like football, basketball, nor baseball too. I’m sure this place needs more customer service improvements in the future. Now onto the entrée! I ordered a soft shelled crab tacos with a side of salad in the middle. So far, it tasted very good! I can feel the crunch of the soft shelled crab right thru my mouth! The rest of it are also delicious too! Not a bad dinner meal at all! Parking at the Firestone can be harder to park. You can park it at the nearest surface street parking available nor the parking garage too. Otherwise, you can ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation without the hassles. In the end, Firestone Public House is the coolest sports bar that every Sacramento residents near or far will experience the sports madness here especially dining their favorite meals too! A well, worthy visit! My rating: 3 ½ stars.
