Ok but slow. If you want to chill a Guinness, it ok. Food a bit pricey. It’s closed now. To bad.

Great, Mellow Happy Hour. Kilkenny on tap. Haven’t seen that since my vacation to Ireland 13 years ago. Bartender is very nice and personable. He had some chill Grateful Dead tunes going.

Great service, good food and very awesome atmosphere. Only problem is that it is inside of another building.

This is one of the best bars in the city. Full bar with quality selections and great Irish beer on tap. Come there regularly with a small group of friends. It’s the after-work stop for the Sacramento. Lobbying crowd. Good people.

Stopped in to Gallagher’s(the Broiler’s Irish Pub) to have some lunch with a friend. Took a while, 20 minutes or so to get the food, and when it came out, my food was incorrect. I ordered the«Cubano» which is a variation of a pulled pork ham sandwich. What I got instead was a ham sandwich with diced chicken. Ok, maybe they made a mistake no big deal. The problem I had is when I brought it to the attention of the sever he told me; «Oh you must have ordered the wrong thing…» He further explained that«that’s how they usually make it» When I finally had to show him a menu, because he was still informing me it was MY misunderstanding. I pointed out that it was pulled pork and not the random diced chicken sandwich I was given, his response was«Oh, I don’t know why it says that on the menu. Next time be sure to specify…» Right, its not your fault, it’s totally my fault and the fault of the menu… Then after explaining that I no longer had time enough to eat my lunch I asked for it to be boxed up. He must have needed to check with the boss at home, because it was another 10 minutes wasted waiting on my incorrect food to be boxed up. Just as I was getting up to just leave and be done with this place, they finally brought it back out. To their credit, they took it off my bill, but still hit me with a $ 4 Coke. Stay classy. I wouldn’t recommend this place even if they were giving the food away for free. Too much trouble for what its worth. UPDATE: Good. They closed.

The best happy hour in town. Good food, you get full shots in your drinks and the service is very good. I stayed at the Hyatt around the corner many times and this is the place to go for an early dinner and drinks on your way to a movie. Chris

Based on some of the reviews on Unilocal,I was bit hesitant when a friend suggested we meet at Gallagher’s for happy hour. I’m glad that I decided to make up my own mind about this place… it was great. I’m not sure who this Kevin guy is that others have referred to, but our bartender for the evening was Glenn. And man, what a great bartender this guy is! Great service, very attentive… as long as Glenn is bartending here, this may just be my new favorite hidden gem. The food was great, nice wine list, and best of all, their happy hour special is $ 2 off all drinks, not just a select few like most happy hours.

Finally made it to Gallagher’s with a friend on our Reuben sandwich adventure — great sandwich. The reviews spoke of poor service, but we did not experience that during our lunch visit. I hope to make it back again some time.

Both the Broiler and Gallagher’s had amazing service. We were here for a work convention and this place was in walking distance to the Hyatt. We came here everyday for casual drinking and we ate dinner one night and lunch one day. The food was amazing, the staff was amazing, especially Tomas! Justin and Shelly were also wonderful! They definately made our trip a fabulous one! Thank you for the great and professional service!

This is a cool place to hang out with friends and enjoy a drink. The bartender knocks himself out to please his customers too. He seems to be the only one working the evening shift, which covers preparing drinks for patrons in the bar and restaurant. Yet he manages to go above and beyond to provide good service. He took the time to suggest a variety of beers that we might like, and he was spot on! The place was full the evening that we were there, and everyone appeared to be having a good time!

This place would get four stars if management would just hire a bar-back. One poor, overworked bartender to service all the clientele in both the bar and restaurant. This is completely unacceptable and needs to be fixed. Now, I love the bar, the food, and the drinks. Please, management, read this review and give the poor bartender a little help!

Free appetizers offered during the«Cars on K Street» festivities, which brought us in. The steak kebabs, sweet/spicy wings, and sandwich rollups were all good, as were the drinks: first time I’d been in, but won’t be the last. Thanks!

I’ve only been here for their Happy Hour and have no complaints! $ 316 oz beers! $ 1.99 for two sliders and fries. Bartenders have been friendly and attentive each time we have visited. I loved the décor and they have dice if you want to play. The regulars have all been very friendly.

Nothing too exciting about this bar… it’s one that we include on the St Patty’s pub crawl(we kind of make our own up as we don’t want to get stuck in the crowd of the full pub crawl).

This is the bar right next to The Broiler restaurant. It’s got a bit of an Irish pub vibe to it, but it doesn’t try to hard. We came here randomly at 8pm on a Friday night, and were pleased to discover that it was super chill, low-key. There were a couple of guys playing dice at the bar, another few stragglers, that was it. We drank beer, hung out for a while, and could actually hear each other talk. Nice. Bartender could have been friendlier, but no biggie. Verdict: Sure, why not. If I ever again find myself wandering aimlessly down K Street, I might stop by once more. I wouldn’t make this a destination or get juiced about visiting, but it definitely provides a venue for beer and actual conversation.

Because this opens up to a business lobby and they keep the door open, the fluorescent lights from the Lobby take away from the Irish pub feeling, making this place kind of feel like a mall food court. Happy hour looks great, but after happy hour you are out of luck for a cheap bar snack. I wish they had 5 dollar french fries appetizers or similar. Instead, you are stuck with 12+ dollar dishes, like fish and chips. The atmosphere is very laid back though, which is nice.

Happy hour is nice here, the food is excellent and everything is so cheap. I got two well drinks a nice large salad with salmon and it was like 15 dollars. Smithwicks baby, yeah!!!

If you’re a Scotch lover, this is the best place in Sacramento. They have a great selection with some more obscure distilleries, and the prices are pretty reasonable. Plus, the place has an authentic pub feel, right down to the wisecracking barkeep. The food menu is limited but the fare comes from next door at the Broiler steakhouse, so it’s quite tasty. Especially if you can get in the order before 6:30pm on a weekday, as their whole food menu is half price, which of course adds to the flavor. If I’m looking for a good whisky instead of a cheap buzz, this is one of my top bars in Sacramento.

I have been here a few times and I just have not been that impressed. I find that the location is not the best — it is difficult for parking and it is not too close to other bars/restaurants. Usually this place is hit on our St. Patty’s day pub crawl so it is normally busy but I have been here a few other times and it was totally empty. I will try it again with friends if we are on a pub crawl but this is not a bar that I will go out of my way to hang out at.

I like Gallagher’s both times that I’ve been here. Granted, this was during two different Sacramento Light Rail Pubcrawls, and everyone was feeling kinda chummy, but the place is clean and friendly. I even took a chance one time and asked for a «snakebite»(which is a mixture of cider and beer), but it took some finagling to get the bartender to pour it since the cider came in a bottle and the Killian’s Red from the tap. I talked another friend into trying one with me and so for the price of three drinks we made two. I wouldn’t have known this place existed if it weren’t for my trusty pubcrawl guide, Scott C. It’s a small bar off of a circular veranda enclosed by glass overlooking the K Street Mall. It’s not too far of a stumble from the Pyramid Ale House, which was our prior stop on the crawl. They also have a small patio for smokers and lookey-loos who must drink near the street. Shore and begorrah… I may have to fill me pint again at Gallagher’s!
