What a great local spot in Land Park: a pharmacy, a little spa, and a boutique gift shop. I’ll break my review up into a part on each, though I’m most familiar with the pharmacy. If this is too much to read, just take my word for it and get over there and experience the wonder of Parkside Pharmacy! PHARMACY: John, the owner/pharmacist, is awesome! He will take the time to get to know you, and really makes you feel valued. If like to see«family owned» action at places you frequent, this is your place. He recognizes me and my parents, asks us how our dog is, and leaves you feeling better — even before you take your prescriptions! I’ve had my whole family switch over to Parkside after I came in for a flu shot years ago. We even got a prescription from our veterinarian, who had Parkside«compound» a custom doggie-friendly medicinal treat for his allergies. For the humans in my family, there was no difference in cost over the grocery store chain but a huge increase in convenience/satisfaction(faster, friendlier, easier). SPA: I am not one who usually gets facials, nor do I spray tan — but if I were to, I’d come here! Marla(the esthetician) was able to recommend some new products that really helped me clear up some acne. I know they spray tan too(and remember tanning beds are dangerous). BOUTIQUE: What a great place, I’ve stopped here so many times to get a last minute card and small gift. Say, for example, your boss is having you over for dinner. What do you bring his wife?! Just about anything from the boutique, you really can’t go wrong. They’ve got everything from lotion to jewelry to kids toys and cheese plates. See if Michelle is working, she owns and runs the boutique part and exudes the same conviviality John does. Was this enough convincing? Good! Now get up and go to Parkside!

I have not used the pharmacy here. Although, I do remember when it was Land Park Pharmacy and that pharmacy was excellent. I am reviewing the front portion of the store which is a gift boutique shoppe. Very cute and unique items here. Lots of lotions and potions, candles, scarves, knick knacks, jewelry, and so on. A small kids section too. Good place to go to get a special gift.

I am so happy to have found this gem in Land Park. The need for a compounding pharmacy led me to Parkside, John and his team. All of my questions were patiently answered and options discussed so as to give me the best way to proceed with my new regimen. The bonus was the amazing gift shop included at the Pharmacy. I ended up up taking care of a few of my «to do’s» right there. Lots of items to choose from, now I am signed up to receive emails to notify me of upcoming specials and events. I spoke with Michelle who was very helpful with me after I discovered that they carry a skin care line Epicuren, I had been reading about. I scheduled an appointment to have a facial. I feel like I could write on… This is for sure my new«go to» place. Thanks to all of you, see you again soon for my facial.

I visited the Parkside Pharmacy over the weekend. I made a stop at LaBou to order my favorite salad and then went to the pharmacy for toothpaste. I was immediately greeted by a cashier as she assisted other customers. I quickly grabbed a toothpaste so that I could get back to the front of the store where all of the cool items are. They have the cutest coasters and soaps and jewelry and all kinds of nice gift items for a reasonable price. I ended up purchasing a ceramic coaster for my desk and was debating on purchasing a few rings that were near the register. The cashier was very friendly and informed me that they have a cosmetics counter that is quite popular. This name of the store should be Parkside Boutique and Pharmacy. There we have it, I have changed the name. Solid five stars in my book :)

This is my first time visiting this pharmacy, as I have to pick up a prescription the vet sent in for my cat. They called earlier today to say it was ready, and as I drove home from work, I called to find out how late they were open tonight. The gentleman told me 6:00 pm(10 minutes away from the time I called), so I told him I’d rush but asked their hours for tomorrow just in case. He told me they’re closed for the 4th of July and are also closed on Sunday. So I told him I’d get there as soon as humanly possible. Well, I drove like a maniac, got here at 5:59, parked and ran to the door. It was locked. My phone said 6:00 pm. I knocked. A man inside looked at me and walked away. I’m in tears sitting outside in my car right now. My cat needs the medicine and now has to wait two more days. What would it have hurt to have waited even just a minute or two past closing time when I had told him my situation? I kind of expected this to be a friendly neighborhood pharmacy, given its location. I’d have been better off at Walgreens.

Gregory M. Owner Operator, Pest Control Co. Of The Sacramento Valley… I was shopping around this last week of May 2015, For My Partner, and Pal, Murphy. Today, I visted parkside pharmacy on the suggestion of a friend. I was really amazed at the level of friendliness of everyone I came in contact with. I needed some medication which John the pharmicist took care of for me in a speedy friendly fashion, but then I noticed all the other services which they provide. I was really impressed with the spa area where they offer a number of skin treatments. I was greqted by a ultra friendly esthetician who was very knowledgeable about skin and product. After I made an appointment for a skin treatment, I stopped off at the gift store which again was beautful. I only ended up getting a birthday card, but they had an entire gift store of great items which included some works from local artists. All I can say is this place gets it. It has the WOW factor with the friendly welcoming cozy feeling place. Amazing place for the Sacramento area.

They have a neat enough boutique selection, but the owner admitted buying from her personal friends and rudely refused to give a refund when the items were defective: I spent over $ 200 that particular visit, including a $ 30+ woven bracelet that broke in half within a week. While the jewelry is «final sale», it seems there should be some kind of exception in place for clearly CRAP items. Plus, the owner was completely rude, and defended her personal friend’s crapmanship, oops, I mean craftsmanship. BEWARNED: «the customer is always right» does not apply here!

I’ve been going to Parkside Pharmacy exclusively for about two years now. The staff there is always very friendly and best of all, fast! I was used to going to one of the large chain pharmacies and typically having to wait for a half hour or so for my prescription to be filled. At Parkside, that doesn’t happen. The longest I have ever had to wait couldn’t have been more than 10 minutes. It seems like they take care of customers in the store first instead of making them wait till they get through filling all the other prescriptions they have in front of them. It is also nice that they make the effort to know your name. When I walk in, someone always greets me by name and even though it may be a small thing to many people, it really makes a difference to me. They are definitely one of the places that makes me want to keep supporting local businesses.

Such a wonderful Pharmacy and Gift Boutique. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming, and the employees always seem excited to greet customers. Today I called John, the Pharmacist to ask for a quote on a refill for my dad’s prescription which can be very expensive. We were in a rut since my dad’s home pharmacy was over an hour away. John didn’t hesitate at all to review the prescription, and give us an AMAZING deal! I feel a bit guilty for accepting the overwhelmingly low price that John gave us. He’s always shown understanding and real concern when we’ve had any questions about a prescription. The Pharmacists will take as much time as you need to sit down, one on one, to go over any questions. As for the Gift Boutique… HEAVEN! Seriously, you can find just about anything in this gem! And believe me, don’t be fooled, there is something for everyone. They have wonderful skin products, lotions, fragrances, candles, jewelry, fun and unique toys for the kiddos, hosting supplies, male accessories, and off the charts stationary. I just love this place! Their in-house esthetician, Marla is perhaps one of the most sweetest ladies alive. She really knows her stuff. Michelle and Marla are such a great team, and truly share a great passion for health and beauty. It’s a one stop shop! Again, I am truly grateful for this Pharmacy. They’ve saved the day with all their help and support!

Parkside Pharmacy Compounding & Wellness Center is the BEST. The team is always very welcoming and helpful whenever we walk in and the Pharmacy is a TRUSTED place for all of my families medical needs. I am a regular at PARKSIDEPHARMACY; No matter what I need. Kind of an old review, but needed to drive to Sacramento to visit a friend while also picking up some meds during flu season :(. Was in desperate need of a local pharmacy and friend recommended this place, and VOILA! I was here! This place is awesome! Out of all the independent pharmacies I’ve gone to, this pharmacy is totally classy! They have cute little small gifts and jewelry in the boutique section, which makes it awesome to browse through while you wait for your meds. Usually at CVS, I just sit there and stare at sick people walk by. Talk about BLEGH. Anyway, I was greeted quickly when I walked in here and the staff were all really nice. Thanks to the friend who recommended this place to me. Def a quaint small pharmacy to get your meds at if you wanna avoid that RETAILCHAOS!

I recently called Parkside Pharmacy and spoke to a pharmacist named John. I wanted to ask a few questions about a specific drug and pharmacists are generally supposed to give«free» information to the public about medications. Not only did John refuse to give me any advice, but he was extremely rude and lost his cool with me on the phone. He said, «well since you don’t fill any prescriptions with me here, I don’t have a vested interest in you, do you understand what I’m saying?» I replied by telling him that any intelligent business man would bend towards potential customers, but after this experience, I will NEVER fill anything with this guy, nor will I recommend them to anyone I know. And I’ve got a large network of health conscious friends and family. He claims he is already successful and doing just fine. So there you have it. Parkside Pharmacy named and shamed. Thanks for reading and remember, Pharmacists have different philosophies and different opinions. Some are more knowledgeable than others, so always seek more than one opinion. It’s the smart thing to do. Good Health and Prosperity to all.

I wish the estetician services and the pharmacy/shop were separate entities for Unilocal purposes. I have been meaning to write a rave 5STAR review for the shop and pharmacy. What a wonderful store for gifts! Reasonable prices, good quality, and friendly service. Never a parking problem — nice, hidden gem. I could only knock off one star for my eyebrow wax experience, because I love Parkside for all its other offerings. If left to stand on its own, the eyebrow waxing services would have gotten one star in total, simply for the estetician being nice. Worst worst worst brow waxing. Mart was nice, but she is an amateur. She blamed her inability to shape my brows on there being too many little hairs, and then in her attempt to tweeze them produced more than a dozen tiny cuts on my brow line. There was blood. I am no brow novice — been getting them done for 13 years at various places. When she seemed concerned that my face was swollen, I assured her that this is common for me in wzxing, and it’d fade in a couple of hours. Apparently not. Whatever she did — probably the poking — didn’t not calm down for 24 hours. She blamed the lip wax ineffectiveness on it being too soon since last time. She then tried to tweeze some hairs, and just ended up producing tiny cuts on my face. She didn’t charge me for it, which was nice, but I still had little cuts above my lip. She then said«well, you don’t really have much hair there, it’s not that noticable.» I know that, I just wanted it to be gone. I went home and tweezed it fine myself. I spent the next two days putting alow and cream on my cut and sensitive areas. I am so disappointed in my experience. Do not go there for brow waxing. Stick to the fabulous gifts and drug store items.
