History

Established in 2010.

Plates Café is the first branch of St. John’s Shelter for Women and Children’s Employment Training Program. The Employment Training Program was created to help formerly homeless mothers develop the professional skills and personal habits to gain and maintain employment. At the end of this 18 month program, mothers are qualified for careers in the culinary, service and retail fields. To date, 93% of graduates have been placed in employment.
