Came here on a sunday. Not very busy at all. Took forever. At least 25 min. Make sure you call in advance and preorder. Not worth the wait at all. Was late to my event at sleep train arena.

I came here after a day of studying and it was pretty deserted for a Sunday at 5:30pm. It didn’t feel super homey or welcoming but we decided to try it anyways. We ordered the Pulled pork sandwich with an egg on top($ 9 something). The pulled pork was very tasty and moist, but the sandwich was pretty tiny. The bun it came on wasn’t much larger than a hotdog bun(a little wider) and I’m sure it wasn’t enough to fill up my friend. We got extra aioli on the side, but it tasted slightly watered down. I also got the pork belly cobb salad($ 8.75). Which had crispy pork belly and bacon, along with mixed greens, blue cheese, cucumbers, and a sliced hard boiled egg on top. It was a fairly small salad for the price and the prom belly didn’t taste as piping hot I would have expected freshly fried pork belly to be… I checked in for the side of fries, and they were very well done. Without these, we both definitely would not have been full from the Portion sizes we were given. And the restaurant was eerily empty. They only began to play music after we came in and finished ordering. Not sure if its somewhere I would go again.

Sadly the portion sizes weren’t photo worthy. We ordered, 3 bahn mi, 2 taco, 1 porkbelly fries, and onion rings. The price is reasonable for a meal, but the portions are way too small. It took about 30 – 45 min until we received part of our order. My niece didn’t get her pig picture until after everyone was just about done snacking. Understaffed and overpriced for what you get. Bahn mi liver paste was tasty. Onion fries were cooked perfectly. The blue cheese sauce on the pork belly fries was also good. I wouldn’t return or recommend.

Flat and salty is not a marriage that lasts. In the spirit of Sacramento Bacon week we decided to try our luck outside of Sacramento proper. Through a family recommendation, we ventured to the Pork Belly minutes away from the old arena. Making the trek, we arrived to a half-full house in good spirits. The dining area was well kept with a good amount of swine related décor. The restaurant has a wall-menu and an in-line ordering system. We placed our order at 2:45, eager to munch down on our Banh Mi sandwiches. Sadly, however, the clock kept dancing in circles as we sat, twiddling our thumbs and awaiting our meals. In the mean, the wait staff was very friendly, and very apologetic for any delays in our expected meal. I’m not sure about how they generally operate but molasses would be a very strong description for what we experienced. 3:20, as the clock yelled, we received our meal with the continual apologies from the polite waitress, the only person out in the floor during our entire dining experience. The food was salty as all hell. And that’s not a terrible thing with bacon, as it is to be expected. However, there wasn’t a fresh or cool contrast, as generally found in a Banh Mi. At 8 dollars, we received one very well-done slab of fat and very few toppings to add depth. It wasn’t what I was hoping for, but far from the worst sandwich I’ve ever had. In summation, the portions were great for a snack but the price wasn’t justified, and the serving time was painful at best. If you find yourself in the area and you just hit a jackpot at a casino, it wouldn’t hurt to try if you have an hour to kill. For me, however, I’ll stick to my south Sacramento Banh Mi fix. Middle of the road just isn’t going to drag me back. 3 stars seems like a safe call.

Good effort but poor execution. The menu looked good and had a good variety however after ordering the banh mi, Pb fries, the Pb western and a side of pork belly(because I love pork belly) and waiting for the order I began to worry. After 10 minutes of waiting for the food which I didn’t mind I realized that I couldn’t smell anything. This alarmed me because you should smell the pork belly cooking and the caramelized fat. When I got the food I could tell right away why… They deep fry their pork belly! Really you lose all taste.

I have gone back since the original post and I feel that their quality has improved! Prices are still a bit high. They should consider doing combos! Over all much better experience since last review.

Like some of the other reviews not impressed. My boyfriend, his friend and I went here for dinner on the way back from tahoe. The 5 $ Bahn mi sandwich met my boyfriends pork belly standards but the pork belly rice bowl was dry. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was good. Also his friend had the hot mess and it was good. But neither were anything amaizing or to go back for. Also I felt like there were a few things they could have fixed to improve the over all experience. The girl behind the counter was nice and helpful, she was busy the whole time we were there. But the glasses seemed to have a soapy feel to them. Either they are not getting cleaned well or they are somehow getting grease on them from the product they sell. Also the napkin dispenser sucks. Was struggling to get out the 3 napkins for my group.

was looking forward to trying to place and no no no — it was huge disappointment. It was not a staff issue more of a staffing issue. Took 30 min to get our food and it was cold and not appealing.

When does pork belly not sound good? Ordered the managers special($ 10.95): mini pork belly burger, a mini beef burger, and a half order of fries that were upgraded to PB fries($ 2.50 extra). The mini pork belly burger was the perfect size for me. Topped with arugula, a strip of bacon, pork belly, beef patty, and their BBQ sauce. The bun was crisp around the edges too. Didn’t get to try the other burger cause my bf ate it lol. PB fries: the fries were super crispy which is always a hit with me. Topped with chopped fried pork belly, their garlic aioli sauce, and blue cheese crumble. Aside from the fries, I was not entirely wowed enough to give 5 stars. The portion size was good and flavors were okay too. But the burgers patties were a tad dry in my opinion. The fries are worth a try though. Plus, who doesn’t like fried pork belly? Service was great too. The gentleman who was the cashier was super sweet and brought our food to the table for us.

When I went in this place there was no soul in sight. Maybe it was too early for dinner. I asked for the steak bowl and they told me they no longer serve the steak bowl. The young man that worked there said that the pulled pork bowl is very good. So I agreed and bought the pulled pork with rice/double the pork. Just under ten minutes later our food came. I was surprised to see the waiter brought two tiny rice bowls. My wife was not worried about her small order of pork belly rice bowl because she has a small appetite. I was thinking how is this little rice bowl going to get me satisfied. Much to my surprise when I started working on my bowl that it actually carried a lot of food. The pulled pork had just the right sweetness and it was very moist. Man it was totally delicious. The only thing it need was a side of veggies. My wife liked her pork-belly rice bowl. The final bill for the two meals was a $ 1.70 when you buy a groupon that discounts the meal quite a bit. Will definitely be coming back.

Unimpressed. I’m not a burger snob… I just expect more than I got. More flavor, more(and faster) service, and frankly, more burger. The size of the burger was a joke for the price, and was average at best. Dry and over-cooked. Even the pork belly on it did little to enhance the flavor. The staff was attentive enough, but their attitude seemed to match the food; lackluster and wanting. They spent more time watching the football game on the TV than serving customers. There are a lot of good burger places in Sacramento, but unfortunately this isn’t one of them.

I like many before me scored a groupon and needed to use it up before expiring. PB had been on my radar for a while but reviews have been all over. My dad and I arrived at 12:15pm on Sunday and it was closed :(Fortunately we waited a hot minute and 2 minutes later an employee turned on the open light and opened the doors yay! My rain boots stuck to the sticky floor, the soda dispenser was dirty, as where all the tables. We ordered up a big piggin, full order pork belly fries, banh mi, a soda and a pacifico. total damage after groupon was around 13.00 so total would have been around 33.00. Now onto the food: Big piggin was huge and my dad loved it, I had the banh mi and thought it was perfect was worried about bread but it was perfectly soft. Both did seem small for price but the quality of the pork was amazing and the food very filling. The pork was juicy, and meaty the best part and definitely in abundance! In fact we were both so full after our main course we had to bag the fries to go but those fries were overfilling with more beautiful pork and I am sure my dad loved them later! Yes, there were some misses mainly cleanliness and late opening, but the food and service were great! The issues are easily fixable, the main thing was the food and that was so great can’t wait to go back!

I visited here 11÷15÷15. I’m not a bbq fan, but the place has good reviews and I wanted to visit. My partner and I ordered the belly Mac n cheese, the PB Western sandwich and the pulled pork fries, all without BBQ sauce. The pulled pork is really great – fatty but crispy, a bit oily but a good splurge. The fries were crispy, and the mix of blue cheese and onions is great. Definitely recommend it. The mac n cheese was good, not anything to drive out for though. The sandwich was good but a bit pricey. Service was great, the lady at the counter was helpful and very patient when we asked questions and had requests. I think it’s a great place to come when you’re in the area.

This a great place for a quick bite to eat before the Kings game. You can even park in the parking lot and walk over to the game if you don’t want to pay for parking but I’m not sure how strict they are on towing cars. I’m too much of a scary cat to do it. My family grew up eating a lot pork and I always hated the pork belly part but I’m actually coming around to it. It’s just so bizarre that restaurants are offering it as a delicatessen now when I grew up always thinking it was the cheap part of the pig. The Pork Belly Fries were really good. Lots of Pork Belly and the sauce was bomb. The Pork Belly Mac & Cheese was creamy with lots of flavor. Check this place out for HH from 3 – 6. Also, two thumbs up on the service! The guy behind the counter walked our food out to our table. Something you don’t always expect at an order-at-the-counter kinda place.

I have had Pork Belly bookmarked since they opened, and I finally found time to stop in today. I literally pulled up as they switched the sign from close, to open. When I walked in, I was greeted and placed my order. A young man at the counter was nice and made friendly conversation. I placed an order for the pork belly bahn mi and pork belly fries to bring back to my coworkers. Upon arrival at work, I saw my sandwich and knew it was going to be simple in flavor. Although the portion of pork belly was ample enough for a simple sandwich, it wasn’t spectacular in flavor. The best(in flavor) part was the daikon and jalepenos. Everything else was not seasoned as well as I expected. I was expecting a burst of flavor somewhere, but alas… not much. The pork belly fries were pretty good. Personally I loved the fatty pieces of meat, but I do wish they had sqeezed a bit more of their sauce onto the fries.(The sauce was my favorite part). After eating the top layer, the fries were dry and sort of flat. I will still give this place another chance because they had a bunch of things on the menu that sounded delicious, and what I ate seemed to have the essence of flavor, so I am willing to bet there are better things on the menu. I’ll be back… at some point

Had a Groupon for $ 20 worth of food. After ordering pork belly fries for $ 7 to share, two hamburgers for $ 8.95 and $ 7.95 and two drinks we still had to pay an additional $ 10.25. The fries looked good, but the pork didn’t really have that much flavor. There was sauce on the fries, but it didn’t have a strong flavor. We added a lot of ketchup. The big piggin and notorious pig looked good, but same story. They needed more flavor. We probably won’t be back because its a little pricey $ 30.25 for food that needed more flavor. The drink cups are a little small and I had to get up to refill a lot and the napkins and condiments are on one table. The staff was really friendly though.

This place has potential for sure. The décor and idea are a mixture of modern and rustic porky deliciousness bound to please any crowd’s pallet The concept of the pork belly centralized menu is a great one that I was happy to sample with the pork belly fries, street taco and PB western. I wouldn’t say anything knocked it out of the park but the flavors were decent and we had a mostly good experience. My few qualms about this place were feeling rushed when ordering(it was my first time here and I needed some time to process), the uncomfortable heat being perpetuated by fans blowing the hot air around and the general cleanliness quality. The floors and tables were sticky and all the condiments had crusties on it– not my ideal eating environment. It was a nice change of restaurant for me to try instead of my usual but I don’t feel a strong urge to come back at this time. With a few minor changes I think this place could be packed all the time, but the small things do count and should be amended.

Waiting for 40 mins for a to go order at 12:20 pack wasn’t that busy. A customer ordered after me and receive meal 10 mins before mines. Ordered a big piggin and pb fries. Not coming back because of the wait. Pb fries are really good. But $ 7 for a full order… that wasn’t even full. ** No review for burger. The house sauce
