Sigh. I’ve been wanting to get the battery in my grandma’s watch replaced for several months now and finally went for it today. Or at least tried. I felt a bit nervous about this place when I walked up to it and saw the guy running it but figured these guys are experts of some sort right? Wrong. He looked at it and said he could do it for $ 15. After attempting to pry open the watch with a boxcutter blade and then dropping part of it(HELLO? 50+ YEAROLDWATCHFROMMYGRANDMOTHERWHO’S PASSED???) he told me he couldn’t figure out how to get into it and couldn’t do it. He even asked me what I’d done to it; if I’d dropped it or something. :-O No, it’s been sitting in a box all these years thank you. I should’ve stopped him when I saw what he was using but kept my mouth shut. Hopefully I can find someone else who is more gentle and experienced to get this delicate beauty ticking again. I wouldn’t even bring costume jewelry to these people, that is, if I owned any.

WTF??? Why has it been the same time every time I looked at my watch today??? Grrrrrhhhhh. I was actually on my way to Macy’s to buy a new watch, when I stumbled upon this little spot. They changed my watch battery while I waited, and correctly set the time and date. All for about $ 10. Woooo-hooo!
